Tick Tack (1/1)
Amelie went to her room after settling Bae in his bed. “You know what Kevin told me?” she asked Eli while arranging some clothes. “He said that if we ever split up, he’ll marry me and help raise Bae.” Eli looked up at her and laughed.“He told me something similar.” Amelie looked at Eli in shock when he said that. “He said that if we split up and I’m left with Bae that he was going to move in with me to help raise him.”Amelie laughed. “Kevin really loves Bae, doesn’t he? He always comes over to play with him.”Eli nodded. “He’s been a great help since you got pregnant. He helps in any way he cans. Sometimes I feel like Bae is blessed with three parents.”“That’s why I’ve been thinking…” Amelie sat next to Eli. “If anything happens to us, it’s better to leave Bae with Kevin then with one of our parents. He’d feel more comfortable, it would be the best for him.”Eli smiled, “I’ll make the paper work to arrange that as soon as I can.”“Thank you.” Amelie hugged him. “This is why I love you.”“I’ll give Kevin the good news tomorrow at work.”“Hey” Amelie said suddenly. “How’s Soohyun doing?”“I talked to him today and he seems better. He’s decided to not think too much about the situation.”“I hope they don’t decide to split up. They made such a nice couple.” Amelie pouted. “None of this would have happened if they had never lost their baby.”“That was tragic, but a couple can’t rely on children for them to stay together. I mean, I know that’s not what happened to them, but still. They have to face their problems without us butting in.”“You confuse me sometimes…” Amelie sighed.“It’s okay~ It’s okay~” Soohyun was surprised to receive a call from Minji. “Hello?” he answered, thinking that maybe her mom had taken her phone or something.“Hey,” Soohyun pressed his lips together when he heard Minji’s voice, “are you doing well?”“Doing great without you.” Soohyun let out a sarcastic laugh.“This is hard for me too.” Minji sighed. “I hope you know that you’re the only one I love and that I’m not planning on leaving you.”“I’ve already prepared myself for if you don’t return to our apartment.”“What does that mean?” Minji bit her lip.“I have learned to live without having you around. I lived just fine before meeting you.”“I’m glad you understand.” Minji forced a smile, even though there was no one looking at her. “I know you’ve had to put up with me for years. I can be unbearable at times and at times I have weird mood swings. I’m glad you’ve gotten a break from all that.”“Do you really think I needed a break from you?” Soohyun asked firmly. “I knew what I was getting myself into when I asked you to marry me. I love you despite your errors. You accepted to marry me for the same reasons. I’m not perfect either. I have yelled at you as if I was your father before. I have made you cry. All the bad things we’ve gone through are worth the pain because at the end we are kind towards each other.”“I’m sorry.” Minji’s eyes watered and Soohyun could tell she might cry by her voice. “I’m sorry for leaving the way I did.”“Where are you now?”Minji took a deep breath to calm down. “I’m at the bank.”“When you arrive at your mom’s house, can you pack your things and come home. I’m at my sister’s house right now, so I’ll see you tonight.”“Okay. I’m going to rush home now. I’ll see you then. Bye, I love you.”Soohyun smiled, “I love you too.” They both hung up.Minji saw Kiseop in the subway when she was about to go to her mom’s house. She caught up to him and grabbed his hand. He jumped in surprise when he felt someone touching him. He smiled when he saw it was Minji.Minji looked up at Kiseop while they rode the subway. “I remember we used to always hold hands like this when we were on our way to and from school. The days you wouldn’t go with me felt weird. I felt safe when you were by my side, like as if holding on to your hand would keep me safe from harm. I forgot why we stopped.”Kiseop looked down in shame, “It was around middle school… around the time I got my first girlfriend. You would feel uncomfortable touching me after that.”“Oh yeah~” Minji laughed. “She never seemed to like me. She would glare at me with her cold eyes whenever I was around you. You two didn’t really suit each other, but you did look nice together. She was really pretty.”“It was a mistake accepting to be her boyfriend…”“After her was another girl. She was much nicer.” Minji smiled. “I saw why you fell for her.”“She reminded me of you.” he murmured.“It wasn’t hard to become her friend. But she also didn’t like that you and I were such close friends.”Minji let go of Kiseop’s hand when her stop arrived. His eyes widened thinking about all the times he has had the chance to do something about his feelings, but he just made more mistakes instead. He grabbed her arm to pull her towards him. “I’ve always liked you.” he whispered before kissing her softly. She stared at him in shook as the doors to the subway closed. Soohyun arrived that night to an empty apartment. He looked round the apartment just in case. It had been hours since Minji had called him, she should have had enough time to pack her stuff. He grabbed his phone to call her, but she didn’t pick up. He called her mom instead.“She’s isn’t here.” she answered when Soohyun asked if Minji was around.“Do you know where she could be?”“She called me about three hours ago saying that she was walking towards the subway. She also told me that you and she had made up. I assumed she was with you.”www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMFmX4-mfNg
