Hoon spotted Soohyun watching Kevin play with a Rubik’s Cube during their break from work. He sat next to him and smiled. “I told you my plan would work.” Hoon winked at Soohyun. Soohyun stared at him in confusion, trying to figure out what he was talking about.  Hoon laughed at his friend’s reaction. “Minji, she went back home last night.”Soohyun grimaced, “Stop playing around with my emotions. You know she did no such thing.”“But~” Hoon furrowed his brows, “she packed her bags and left saying she was going home.  Maybe she slept in the couch…”Soohyun looked at the ground and murmured, “I think I would have noticed her shit in the living room.”“Then,” Hoon twisted his lips, “where could she have gone?”“She’s probably at her mom’s house or something.” Minji called in sick to get settled at her mom’s house. She spent the whole morning just watching TV. She thought that it was going to be different since she barely saw her mom. She always thought that she’d be able to bond with her mom after she moved because it would be more special now that they didn’t live in the same house.Boredom was killing her. Being away from her computer was harder than she thought. She got up from bed and stopped by her apartment to use the internet for a while. She was surprised when she arrived at her apartment. It wasn’t a pig sty, but it wasn’t as clean as when she was staying there. She couldn’t take seeing the place like this. She cleaned the apartment and cooked. She was able to use the internet for a few hours before heading to her mom’s house. Her mom gestured for Minji to follow her when she arrived at the house. They sat at the living room. Her mom smiled sweetly and tucked some of Minji’s hair behind her ear. “What are you doing, honey?” she asked softly. “You’re playing a game that might not have any winners.”Minji looked away in shame, “I don’t know. I’m just… confused. I’m doing what feels right.”Her mom scoffed. “What feels right?” she asked mockingly. “Being away from the husband you love so much?”She looked at her mom and forced a weak smile, “I don’t know what else to do to stop so many arguments…”“Listen to yourself. As a woman you’re supposed to tolerate any pain that comes your way. I raised you to be strong. Escaping from your problems isn’t going to solve anything.”“I’m not escaping from anything.” she shook her head. “Being apart from each other is healthy, isn’t it? How is our relationship supposed to grow when we have the same routine every day?”“Minji, you’re married. How much more is there to a relationship? Stop trying to chase something that doesn’t exist.”“Exactly,” she said sternly, her mom looking at her in shook that she would raise her voice while talking to her, “everyone stops trying after getting married. Marriage is seen as the end of one’s life. I want to see it as a beginning. What will happen if I just leave things the way they are? Will things worsen and we end up like all your marriages? I don’t want to get divorced when things get bad, I want to fix the problem in order to always be with Soohyun.”“I still think what you’re doing is insane.” he mom stood up and walked away. Soohyun’s eyes widened when he arrived at his apartment. Dongho and Kevin looked around in surprise. Kevin rushed to the kitchen and grinned, “They even cooked!”“Minji?” Dongho called.“It couldn’t be her.” Soohyun said. “She should’ve gotten out of work around an hour ago and she should be on her way to the university about now. She wouldn’t have the time to do this today.”“Who else would do this?” Kevin asked as he grabbed a plate.“I have to thank my mom next time I see her.” Soohyun smiled and followed Dongho into the kitchen. All three of them turned their head abruptly when they heard the door unlocking. Soohyun jumped out of his seat and hugged his sister when she walked in. She pushed him away in confusion. “What the hell?” she stared at him.He smiled, “Were you the one to cook and clean?”“Here?” She laughed, “Of course not~” Kevin stood up and walked towards her when she had gestured for him to get closer. “I passed by earlier to wash clothes and forgot to leave this for Kevin.” Kevin took it tightly into his arms and smiled.“When are you fixing your washing machine?” Soohyun asked in concern. “Isn’t it hard for you to be carrying your laundry all the way here? I can help you if you wait for me to get out of work.”“Was there someone you passed by while here?” Dongho asked, still eating. She nodded.“I entertained myself talking with Minji, who was cleaning. She even helped me to put my clothes back into my trunk when I was done. She also fed me.” she smiled. “I’m glad to have such a nice sister-in-law. We’re going to watch a movie I’ve been waiting to see with her and Amelie tomorrow.” She noticed Soohyun’s grimace and asked, “What’s the matter?”Kevin laughed. “He’s jealous you seem to be spending more time with Minji than him.”She raised a brow, “What do you mean? What happened?”“They’re on a ‘break’.”“I see~ Why are you so upset about that?” she looked at her brother. She pushed him a little when he didn’t respond. “You two see each other every day. I don’t know how you can do it. I went to a weeklong trip with my boyfriend some months ago and I got tired of him by the fourth day. I spent a night sleeping in the bathtub and we did our own thing the next day. Everything went back to normal after we arrived back at the hotel.”Kevin nodded. “Too much of something is unhealthy.”Soohyun furrowed his brows and bit his lip before rushing out the door.Soohyun entered Minji’s mom’s house without warning and headed to the room Minji usually stays at. Minji jumped from surprise when Soohyun burst in. She sat up and placed the book she was reading to the side. She watched as he closed the door behind him. “What-?”“What am I doing here?” he finished the sentence for her, angrily. She smirked and crossed her legs. “I was going to ask what’s was wrong with you.” She mockingly added, “You seem pretty tense.”“You seem to be having fun despite the situation.” he said firmly. “You make our problems seem so easy. Is our relationship that insignificant to you? I’m the only one that gives a shit about solving this, because it’s just a game for you. I’m tired of your fucking arrogance!”She stood up and coldly said, “Is that all you came to say?” He pushed her, making her take a few steps back from the impact.“I guess trying with you is useless.” he said before leaving. Kevin sent Amelie a text message telling her he wanted to ask her something and he was going to go over. Kevin ran to Bae as soon as Amelie opened the door. He picked Bae up and kissed him a few times. Amelie stared at him as he sang and danced with Bae in his arms for a few minutes.“Kevin?” she asked. He looked at her and smiled. “If you leave Eli, I promise to help you raise Bae. I already love him as my own. Would you marry me if Eli and you ever split up?”“I doubt that’s what you wanted to ask me.” she laughed. “Stop joking around.”“It’s not a joke!” He walked closer to Amelie and kissed her cheek. “I wouldn’t let you be a single mother.”She laughed and got Bae from his arms and put him in the ground. Bae went to sit in front of TV as they talked. “I’m flattered at your offer.” she smiled. “But, I won’t do you any favors if you don’t ask me right now.”Kevin pouted and pulled on Amelie’s sleeve, “Can you talk to Minji? Soohyun is starting to scare me. At first it was fun to watch, but he’s taking this harder than he should.”Amelie bit her lip. “I’ve tried to convince her to leave this plenty of times. She won’t listen to reason. All we can do for now is trust her. She’s a smart person, plus I doubt she can go more than a month without seeing Soohyun.”“I trust her.” Kevin sighed. “I just wish it didn’t have to be like this. It’s like they have become different people.”“Who knows?” Amelie shrugged. “Maybe she’s right. After experiencing the pain of being apart, their relationship might be stronger when they finally agree to finish this break thing.”www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KhiF1GXXms
