“Okay I think I can make it,” Sehun hung up the phone and turned to Luhan who was doing his computer work.“Xiao Lu, I think I might need to replace Jongin for his work.”Jongin is Sehun’s best guy friend since elementary school, he had been working at a small bar, but he needed to settle some personal problems and had to quit the job, however he was supposed to have someone to replace him due to the lacking of helpers at the bar.“Sure, why not?” Luhan turned his head to Sehun. It’s good for Sehun anyway. Sehun’s been staying home for quite some time, it seems like it’s time for him to earn some money. And since that day Sehun working, causing him to spend lesser time with Luhan. Luhan wouldn’t call Sehun while Sehun was at work because it would only disturb him, so Luhan sent text messages to Sehun hoping for a reply from his busy boyfriend.“Babe, are you coming over for dinner tonight?”Sehun didn’t reply until two hours later, it’s already 10pm and Luhan had already made dinner for both of them.“I’m sorry Xiao Lu I can’t make it. It’s getting late now, go to sleep okay. I don’t want you to wait for me. I will make it up to you soon. Love you!”Disappointed, Luhan ate by himself and went to sleep. It went on like this for two months, leading Luhan to spend most of the nights alone. Sometimes Sehun couldn’t make it on the weekends too, all he did was apologizing to Luhan yet he didn’t have time to prove it with actions. Luhan started to think if this was ever going to work out, what’s the point of dating when you can’t spend time each other? Sehun was still young, he did not understand that communication was important, he did not know about the sacrifice one has to make in order to keep a relationship going. Luhan was trying to be understanding at first, but he got annoyed as time went by. Annoyed by the fact that he couldn’t see Sehun, annoyed that Sehun didn’t keep his promise to Luhan about making up to him and Sehun was too busy for him. They finally got to meet up on a Sunday so they decided to go out for lunch. The whole time Luhan almost never touched his food, instead his was staring into the blank and the people who walked past the restaurant.“Are you.. feeling alright?” Sehun stopped eating as he noticed something was wrong with Luhan. He hadn’t seen Luhan for five days straight that week, no doubt he really missed spending time with him, but didn’t Luhan look forward to their meeting too? Or was it otherwise?Luhan was snapped back to reality when he heard Sehun’s question, immediately faking up a smile Luhan answered, “Huh? Of course I’m alright!” and stuffed a spoonful in his mouth. Sehun didn’t know what was going through Luhan’s mind, he only thought that Luhan might be tired. After they had done with lunch, Sehun decided to drive Luhan home because Luhan seemed unfocused and uninterested. Sehun’s hand reached for Luhan’s while Sehun was driving, squeezing his hand tightly Sehun glanced at Luhan at times, hoping Luhan would show some expressions, a smile, a glance, anything would do. But Luhan didn’t even bother to return Sehun’s glance, his gaze was locked onto the trees and buildings outside the car window. He wasn’t sure if he was thinking about both of them, or he wasn’t thinking at all, because he was annoyed by the lagged up situation between them. He wasn’t sure if he and Sehun grew apart even though Sehun was just right beside him, or they just didn’t know each other well enough to understand each other’s feelings thoroughly.“Are you feeling tired?” Sehun turned to Luhan with a worried filled face when he reached the red light.Luhan slowly blinked his eyes to focus on the dashboard because he was being totally unfocused earlier.“Mm,” that was his only reply. He closed his eyes to pretend that he’s sleeping, and also to avoid Sehun’s eyes as this was his only solution to prevent Sehun from asking any further. Sehun, on the other hand, completely trusted Luhan’s only reply. He thought that Luhan was behaving this way because he was exhausted from his illness. His grip on Luhan’s hand got tighter and he continued driving, while in his mind he couldn’t stop thinking about how to make Luhan feel better. But he couldn’t come up with anything except for letting Luhan to take a rest. Sehun too, was tired from all the stress he received from his work. He couldn’t afford to spend time with Luhan at night as he was always too tired the moment he got off his work. Otherwise it was rather late to give Luhan a goodnight call. All he managed to do was to send apologies to Luhan, which in turn would upset Luhan even more.Sehun pulled in the car in front of Luhan’s apartment and he unbuckled Luhan’s seatbelt. Sehun was about to shut the car door as he got out, but he couldn’t see Luhan outside the car while a second ago Luhan was doing the same as himself. He dashed to the other side of the car and found Luhan lying unconscious on the ground.“Luhan! Luhan!” Sehun yelled at Luhan as he got down to place Luhan’s head on his lap. Sehun patted on Luhan’s cheek attempting to wake him up, he was freaking out and subconsciously letting out slight shrieks not knowing what to do. Luhan heard Sehun’s panicked voice and his eyelids flickered, struggling to open his eyes. Finally he won over the struggle and opened his eyes to Sehun with welled-up eyes. Sehun sighed in relief and he got up to carry Luhan into the apartment.
