Stole My Heart Pearllin 34220K 2023-11-03

"Why is it so quiet today?" Sehun's father broke the silence, glancing at his son and then at his daughter before turning to Sarang. "You know, every time we sit for dinner, it's a chaos in the dining table," he chuckled. His son and daughter would spill every thing they did every night they'd sit for dinner and that was something Mr. Oh really enjoyed. But today, it was just awfully quiet. "Is it? It's always so quiet when I dine with my family. My parents are rarely home," Sarang said with a sigh; she found it easier to talk to Mr. Oh than talking to her own father, probably because she was always afraid of what his reaction would be. But with Mr. Oh, he'd smile at everything she'd say. "Well, then don't expect our table to be quiet, Sarang. What's wrong with these two today?" "Your son lied to me today, about dinner," Jaerin started. "He took Sarang away." "What are you? Five?" Sehun retaliated. "We were just talking, Dad. We really needed to talk," Sehun turned to his father as he explained. "You didn't have to lie to me, idiot," Jaerin said as she stabbed her vegetables before eating them. "I was sorting out my DVDs with Sarang and he pulled her out of my room just because he wanted to 'talk'." "Are you the one marrying her? Or is it me? You don't have a say in this, Noona. You can't even fix your DVDs by yourself," Sehun scoffed at her. Sarang widened her eyes, watching the two quarell and they looked somewhat cute, quarelling like teenagers. "Yah, Oh Sehun!" Jaerin glared at her brother before turning to her father, "Dad, can we disown him in any way?" "Yah, Oh Jaerin. you're the one who needs to be disowned..." And they kept on going. His father said, "That is what I was talking about. They look like they quarell every minute of the day but they just love each other so much." He chuckle. "Okay, now stop you two." "She started it." "No, he started first, Dad." "Yah, Unnie," Sarang chuckled at her. "Stop now," Sarang was new to the family but she already loved it. "See whom you're getting married to?" Jaerin looked at her before putting her fork down. "Should I cancel the wedding, then, Noona?" Sehun asked with a smirk. He knew very well what her reaction was going to be. "No!" Jaerin exclaimed, glaring at her brother once again before turning to Sarang. "I mean, he can be nice too." She glanced at Sehun, "Who'd play video games with me if you call the wedding off?" "You really are five," Sehun chuckled. Jaerin clicked her tongue and pouted while her brother nonchalantly dug into his food. Jaerin looked as if she was planning Sehun's murder inside her head when Sarang nudged her from across her. "Stop stabbing those, Unnie. Start eating." A cunning smile graced Sera's lips as she started speaking, "You know, Sarang, one day Sehun was playing soccer with his friends and one of them sent the ball into the tree nearby. Sehun went to fetch the ball but when he saw his crush, he ran straight into the tree and there was this huge lump on his forehead for a week. He even skipped school so that no one would be able to see that." "You seriously did that?" Sarang turned towards Sehun. Sehun threw a look at Jaerin who innocently smiled back at him, "Yeah, you were walking nearby," Sehun said in a small voice and Sarang blushed a shade of pink at that. "And one day," Sehun started. "Jae Noona backhugged her English Teacher thinking it was Dad. It was hilarious. Her teacher's expression was worth a million dollar," Sehun chuckled. "And one day, she used the males' room instead of the ladies' room in a restaurant because she wasn't having her glasses on," Sehun smirked at her sister and for half an hour, they kept going on and on about each other; at one point, they looked like they were making up things but neither wanted to step down. Sarang's tummy ached as a result of laughing so hard and she even choked on her food several times. They decided to get back on each other later since it was getting late and they had eight movies to watch, which they were sure they wouldn't able to complete.  "I don't understand, Sehun," Sarang sighed, coming out of the bathroom, dressed in her friend's baggy sweatshirt and shorts. Sehun tilted his head at her, tearing his gaze away from his laptop that he had brought into Jaerin's room to work with. A soft smile played on his lips; it was the first time he saw her wear shorts and she was looking as if she was at her own home. "What don't you understand?" "Unnie," Sarang walked across the room and sat beside him with slumped shoulders, rubbing her wet hair with the white towel. "She still likes you." "Sarang. Can we not?" Sehun sighed, turning his body towards her and leaning against the armrest of the couch. "All we ever talk about is your sister or my sister. Can—" "Fine. Let's talk about us if that's what you really want," Sarang immitated him and sat facing Sehun with her back rested on the arm rest and legs folded underneath her. "Tell me about your girlfriend." "Ex-girlfriend," Sehun emphasized. "Her name was Yoon Ri Nah. She asked me out on the first day of my university. We dated for two weeks but I had my heart somewhere else so things didn't work out and we broke up. Nothing much, I told you earlier," Sehun explained simply and Sarang nodded. "Did you like her, though?" She asked after comtemplating for a minute if she should ask that or not. "I told you my heart was somewhere else. I just wanted to give it a try and see if I could get over you. But, fortunately, that never happened and here we are, talking to each other." Sehun said, looking at her with one of his brightest smiles. "We're still friends though. I invited her in our engagement party," Sehun said and for some reasons, he felt like touching her shiny hair. He reached out to ruffle it and Sarang ducked her head lower to avoid his touch with a playful smile on her lips. "You know, this sweatshirt was bought by Jae Noona when she was this fat. No wonder it looks so loose on you," Sehun chuckled softly. "Jae Unnie was fat?" Sarang asked, bringing her knees upto her chin and hugging her legs loosely. "Like so fat. She starved herself to get thin and did hard excercises waking up so early in the morning. She went through a lot to get to shape but she looked rather cute back then with those chubby cheeks." Sehun laughed, remembering the pictures he had once captured of his sister when he was fourteen. "Even Min oppa had those round chubby cheeks and he used to wear round glasses. He almost looked like Harry Potter," Sarang smiled. "Once I drew a scar on his forehead when he was asleep," She giggled along with Sehun. Sehun's phone glowed up indicating he had a text and the room was quiet for while he read that. He looked like he was thinking hard while typing the reply, with his brows scrunched and lips pressed into a thin line. "What's wrong?" Sarang asked, trying to get a peak of the thing that made the all-smiles guy so worked up. "Nothing much. Wait," Sehun mumbled. "Is that an article about us?" He asked himself, summoning Sarang closer to him so that she could see what he had just discovered. Sarang raised her brows in question as she climbed in beside him. "What did they even write?" She asked as she read the article under some pictures that people were able to snap when they were out together. "What's the big deal about spotting us together?" Sehun sighed as he scrolled further down impatiently. Sarang was attentively trying to read and when he scrolled down so fast; she grabbed his phone and scrolled upwards to reread the whole thing. Sehun watched her with a smile as her untied hair framed her little face and how her lips moved constantly while they read the text. He could just lean in and their lips could meet— "What's up with you two?" Jaerin's voice rang in the room as she stepped out of the shower with her sweatpants and t-shirt on. "We were googling up on how to murder you, that's all," Sehun said and Sarang looked up at her with a smile. "Unnie, let's play the movie now?" Sarang jumped out of the couch to find the first part of the whole series they were going to watch. "Sure, dear. I'll help you with the player," Jaerin crouched down to help her and soon, the movie was playing. Jaerin kept the lamps beside her bed on and had turned off all the other lights in t
