Mistake (1/1)
Mistake As expected, students were happily chatting about their various plans for the weekend that finally arrived, much to their pleasure. Most of them were talking about going to the mall or spending the night over each other’s houses, the outgoing ones were excited to go at Zhoumi’s party. The brat was an exchange student from China and he was rich, really rich. People liked him for his money, that was sure, but they also appreciated him because he was a friendly, talkative and caring guy. He was a great friend according to his closest ones, always there to make them laugh or keep the entertained. Unfortunately, Donghae wasn’t one of them. He never had the chance to talk to that Zhoumi guy.Rising from his seat, Donghae picked his books and put them in his bag, ready to exit the classroom. He grabbed a crumpled paper on his desk and threw it in the trash can. Just before reaching the door, a blond-haired man appeared just beside him, putting an arm around his shoulder.“Hae, why didn’t you send the paper back?”“The teacher was glaring at me, if I did, he would’ve seen your message.”“And? What’s the big deal about it?”“Hmm, he already doesn’t like me, I don’t want to get in his bad side.”“Oh yeah, that’s true... How about going out this weekend?”“I can’t, I need to study.”“You’re always studying, Hae. Aren’t you tired of staying inside your room all the time?”“Min, I need it to stay in the dormitory. Unlike you, I’m not in any club so I have to get good marks.”“Why don’t you join a club then?”“I like sports but not that much…”“What a boring life you have!” He laughed and punched him lightly on the arm, removing his own from his shoulder.“I know, I know. I’ll be going now, see you Min.”Without waiting for his friend to answer, Donghae made his way toward the school entrance, leaving the building. Turning the door knob of the room 302, the brown-haired man opened the door lazily, crept inside the small opening and closed it behind him. Tossing his bag on his single bed, he reached the bathroom and locked himself inside. Donghae sighed heavily while leaning his back on the wall just beside the mirror. He didn’t show it to Sungmin, but he really wanted to go out with him and have some fun, but his schoolwork wasn’t allowing him. He needed to study for the next Monday.“Stupid history teacher, why did he put an exam this early?” He growled, passing his hand on his face.He moved in front of the sink to turn on the tap and let the water flow in his hand before splashing some on his face. Feeling refreshed, he looked at his reflection in the mirror in front of him. Donghae then heard the opening sound of the bedroom door, so he turned off the tap and got out the little bathroom to welcome his roommate.“Donghae?”“I’m right here!” Donghae said while exiting the piece he was in.“Oh hello. You’re not out with Sungmin or Henry?”“Why is everyone bugging me about going out? I still need to study.” He sighed deeply.“Oh sorry I forgot!” He laughed slightly, amused by the younger annoyed expression.Jungsu walked near his drawer and took out some of his clothes to put it in a small traveling bag.“Where are you going?”“Visiting my parents. They called me yesterday night to ask me and I agreed. So I won’t be here this weekend.”“I see…And about what you said yesterday…”“What is it?” The older didn’t turn around to look at Donghae, he just continued to fill his bag with some stuff he’ll need for the weekend.“I… I reported someone.” Without knowing why, the teenager locked his eyes with the ground’s hardwood, like he was going to be scold. The student council member turned slowly around, surprised, but happy.“Really?” A light smile appeared on his features. “I knew I could count on you Donghae! You probably did a great job to help this school. I swear you could easily be part of the student council.”“Errr… No thank you.”“Ah too bad then!” He chuckled and continued packing his things. “What did you do exactly? You went to the principal?”“Yeah… Kind of” ~His steps echoed in the long and empty corridor of the school, leading him to the principal’s office. He needed to talk to him about what he just saw. He promised his roommate that he’ll help him with reporting the misbehaving students, so he wasn’t going to back off, was he?He just didn’t know how he was going to tell the headmaster. “Oh hello, Hyukjae and his friends are stealing some files in the history class.” Yeah right, as if. He wasn’t used to report students so he was quite noob about it.Standing in front of the office, Donghae inspired loudly and knocked two times on the wooden door, before hearing a muffled “Come in.” The brown-haired teenager became a lot more nervous when he passed his head in the door frame and saw the broad, yet charming man.“Donghae, what bring you here?” He smiled warmly, his hands crossed together above his desk.“I…Hmm…” The boy played with his fingers, looking everywhere except at the man he was talking to. “History class… Stealing… Err, yeah.”“Sorry, what are you trying to say?”“Some students are stealing files in the history class…”“They’re…Stealing?!”“Exam. Answers. Heeeu I need to go.” The nervous young man quickly got out the office without looking at the principal. He walked faster, feeling the urge to get out the school. He was embarrassed about what he just did. “Great job Donghae…” He sarcastically told himself while half-running down the corridor. Nearly reaching the main entrance, he saw the three other boys getting out the classroom, answers in hands. He didn’t make any eye contact, surely afraid to face them. But the three of them were staring at him, making the younger boy uncomfortable. ~It has been three hours since Jungsu left the dorm and Donghae was alone, studying as always. Sitting at the desk, he read the last untouched book he needed for the test. The boy didn’t stop until he finished the last page. If I can’t go out today, tomorrow I will for sure. He closed his book and stretched his arm while yawning loudly. He rose from his seat and reached his drawer, taking out his pajama. He changed himself and lay down in his comfy bed, ready to drift in a dreamless night. [A/N: Sorry for not posting this chapter earlier, I was a little bit busy.
