Heavy Heart (1/1)

I had never felt this reluctant to go to school until today. Why? It was because of him.Junhyung.That trickster! And we were going to have English today, and we would be given another assignment to be completed within a week. So I was going to spend more time with him. Oh, how could I put on a straight face when I knew he would be teasing me nonstop about what happened that night at the carnival? But I had no choice. Like it or not, I had to go to school. I took a deep breath, and with a heavy heart, I entered the front gate. Students were already busily chatting around, getting their things from the lockers, and grabbing some breakfast, making used of the little time we had before the first bell rang. I headed to my locker, and my two friends were already with their books. Chaerin greeted me first.“Hey! Feeling better?”She was referring to the night at the carnival. I had told them every little detail about my beautiful encounter with Joon and my revolting encounter with Junhyung, and how I felt like a sore loser coming home that night because of that Junhyung.“Urgh! That Junhyung!”Exactly, Minji. Exactly! But I chose to say,“Hey, don’t worry about me, and let it go, okay. I’m all good now. Chill, guys.”I put on a smile as wide as I could, I didn’t want my friends to go berserk at him. They would, if I let them, and I could guarantee that they would never leave Junhyung at peace, especially since Chaerin was known as the baddest female in our school.“Let’s go, the class will start soon.” We walked to our class while chatting nonsense with each other. The corridor was unusually peaceful, so that only meant one thing, either Beast wasn’t at the school yet so the girls were patiently waiting for them at the their own classes, ready to scream their lungs out when they saw them, or, some angel had come to our school and put everybody at calm. Since the second option was unlikely to happen, I guess Beast wasn’t arrived yet. That was great news for me. I was in no condition to face Junhyung right now. But to my disappointment, the first person that I saw when I entered the class was him. Junhyung was sitting right behind my desk, looking down at some comic, I guess, oblivious with his surroundings. His other friends were grouped together at the table beside his, talking in low voices, and they looked so deep in conversation, people might have mistaken them as a bunch of gossiping guys. I heard Chaerin grunted beside me, and I hold her hands, just in case she decided to jump on Junhyung and tackled him down to avenge for me. I motioned Minji to guide Chaerin to her table, and I made my way to mine, with the heaviest heart. I sat on my chair, trying my hardest to ignore the fact that Junhyung was right behind me. He never left his eyes from his comic, thank goodness. I slung my back pack at my chair rest, and put my book on my desk. I was rearranging my book in my desk when I felt an unidentified block at the far end inside my desk. I reached for it and brought it out, and I was almost choked my breath at the sight of it. It was the chocolate bar.The chocolate bar from the carnival. What was it doing in my desk? And then I heard Junhyung’s voice from my back,“I’ve told you, I don’t eat chocolate. Enjoy.”
