Mouse Hole (1/1)
“Six cokes.”I heard Junhyung ordered. How did the queue move that fast? When did he arrive at the counter?“You should stop doing that.”Huh? What did he say to me?“You kept daydreaming, even though it is the night time right now.”“I didn’t--”“You did, just now. You were deep in your thoughts, even your eyes were looking afar.”Did I do that? I must have done it a lot. Joon told me the same thing just then. But I was thinking about Junhyung just now, about Beast, about their bodies. Wait, that didn’t come out right. Anyhow, Junhyung should be honoured, it wasn’t everyday that I thought about him.“There, you are doing it again.”Dammit, Hani, stop that!“Just ignore me, Junhyung.”“As you wished.”And he turned to look at the cashier, ready to pay for his drinks, leaving me standing like an idiot beside him.Hold on, when on earth did I move beside him? I was right behind him before I, uh, ehem, daydreamt. There! I admitted that. Happy? “Oy, your turn.”“Huh?”“Daydreaming again? Tsk tsk! What do you want to buy, Hani? Or are you just standing here to kill the time?”Junhyung was smirking at me, I bet he find it funny that I kept zoning out like that.“I, uh..”What was I buying? Oh, I was going to buy some water, because Joon gave me his cotton candy, his big, fluffy, pink cotton candy...“Hani! Seriously, this girl!”Oh my God! I should really stop doing this! “Hey, you guys in the front, could you guys stop flirting and get the line moving? Jeez!”Some guy at the back screamed at us.“Eek! Sorry! One mineral water for me please!”I blurted out, embarrassed for being called flirting – Wait, what?!“I wasn’t flirting!”“Ya! You’re screaming at my ear!”“What are you still doing here?”Shouldn’t Junhyung already leave, like moments ago?“I have yet to pay, duh.” “It’s five dollars forty cents, dude, and sixty cents for you, girl. Oh by the way, we have a promotion today. These chocolate bars were usually sold at one and a half dollars, but today we are selling it on just one buck. Are you interested, boy?”On the counter were boxes of chocolate bars, and they sure did look yummy.“No, thanks.”Junhyung was already holding out his money, but the cashier insisted that he bought the chocolates.“Really? It’s cheap, you know.”I could see that Junhyung was getting irritated.“I don’t eat chocolate.”“Then you could buy for your girlfriend there.”The cashier pointed at me. Did he think that Junhyung and I were together, too?“Oh, no, I’m not his gi--”“Sure then, why not.”Huh? “Junhyung, you don’t have to buy the chocolate for me. Really, you don’t have to.”He had already paid for his drinks together with the chocolate bar, and he grabbed the chocolate, holding it up to my eyes.“Junhyung, really, you don’t--”“Tsk. Who said I’m giving this to you?”Said that again?“Chow.”And he left. Oh my God! Where on earth was the mouse hole when I needed one?I was so humiliated, so I grabbed my water and ran out of the way.“Girl! You haven’t paid for your water yet!”I stopped on my tracks, pulled out a one dollar bill, pushed it to the cashier, and resumed my run.Seriously, did anybody see a mouse hole anywhere?!
