Chapter NineWhy? Walking back was hard, since it was raining and all. "I'm home," I said halfheartedly as I walked into my house, starting to take my shoes off, but I didn't get to that. Daehyun popped up in front of me and smiled brightly. "How did it go?"I blinked a few times and then I sighed, pushing past him but he didn't let me go and he put me back outside. "They're back," I mumbled.Daehyun clapped and caught my wrist, making me turn around. "That's great, right? You're free and your pages are steel!" I nodded, not really caring because even though my pages are steel, it seemes as if they were gone completely. He caught my hand again and he looked me in the eyes as I slowly turned around. "You didn't think they wouldn't come at a cost, right?"I was quiet."LaeJoon-ah," he groaned. "How did you not know? You should've just closed it--""I know! I know all too well!" Shoot, I'm snapping at the person who helped me. "And I don't know why my heart was taken! I have no feelings toward him! He's nothing to me!" Daehyun was silent, taking in everything I said. "Sorry," he whispered, his head down.I shook my head. "No, no, no. It was me." I took a deep breath and then let it out. "It was my fault, I'm sorry."He looked up and then smiled. "Why don't I go cheer you up?" "I don't know--""Come on!" He tugged me and my feet dragged in freshly made mud, making my shoes get dirty. "Aish!" This day sucked."Sorry. Here." He set me down on a log and took my shoes and my socks off. "Get on." He turned around and got on one knee, but was careful not to get mud on his pants. "On your...back?" I asked, just looking at it. His back?"Yes on my back," he said, his voice annoyed. "Haven't you ever had a piggyback ride before?""No," I said. "Not while conscious."When I had just met DongKi it was in the summer and I hadn't drank a lot of water. I was running around and talking to him and I ended up passing out in front of him. My mother told me that he had piggybacked me all the way home from the field we were in. "You were knocked out or alseep when that happened?" he asked."Knocked out.""Why'd you get knocked out?""Well, I passed out," I explained, rambing on."Okay, okay, okay," he said, making me stop mumbling and look at him. "Just get on.""I don't know if--"He grabbed my arms and pulled me onto his back, pulling my arms around his neck. "There you go."I laughed. "You didn't need to," I said.He shook his head. "No, I did."I smiled, flattered. I looked at the back of his head and even that looked adorable. All of a sudden the realization that his hands were touching my calves hit me and my face became heated. My cheeks were pink and the natural body heat from his hands seemed as if it were melting my pants. "Relax," he said, his voice low and firm as we walked down the street of the market. Little kids and old people pointed at us and giggled, whispering something about young love."I am relaxed," I lied. "Don't lie. Remember, you're still an open book." I could hear the smile in his voice. "Whatever," I joked, rolling my eyes. He chuckled and continued walking, making my heart raced as he jumped a little so I wouldn't slide down his back. A little toy car rolled in front of us and he almost tripped. "Ah!" I tightened my legs around his waist and I tightened my arms around his neck, but not so much that I would choke him. He laughed and tapped my arm. "Calm down. You're fine."My heart beat so fast I felt as if it would burst. He must have felt it too."You're not calm at all.""I know," I confessed. "How can I be? You're giving me a piggyback ride." "Fine." He walked up to a bench and set me down. "Don't move."I nodded like a little kid and let him walk into a store. A few minutes later he came out with a bag in his hand. "Is this the time to go shopping?" I asked. "Shh." He took out a box and some socks. He put the socks on my feet and then he began to put on the shoes. "I-I-I can do it--""Shh," he repeated, putting a long finger up to his lips. "Just be quiet. You talk too much."I sat back, admiring him. He was so nice and wise...it was like he was perfect. He put the shoes on me like a prince would to a princess and my cheeks grew red again. He stood up and held out his hand. "Come on."Avoiding embarrassment from my sweaty and trembling hands, I stood up on my own. He shrugged and began walking."Do you like ice cream?" he asked, looking back to me. I nodded. "Hmm."He smiled and then we stopped at an ice cream place. "What flavor?" he asked me."Vanilla.""Got it." He ordered us ice cream and I got mine in a cone and he got his in a bowl. "Want to go sit down?" he asked me. "Sure." We sat down at another bench since the one I was sitting at when he put the shoes on me was taken by an old couple who were talking to each other. "That's cute," I said, lookig at the old couple who were smiling and laughing. "What?" He looked at what I was looking at. He scoffed. "That doesn't happen.""Huh?" I looked at him. "What doesn't happen?""That. Love. That never happens." He continued eating his ice cream."You don't believe in love? That's so sad, Daehyun-ssi.""No it's not. It's just reality: no love." He shrugged and popped another bite of ice cream into his mouth."You seriosuly don't believe in love? Haven't you ever loved someone?""I have loved someone, but I have never been in love and I never will be," he said, completely convinced that he was right. My mouth dropped. "You've never had a crush? A girlfriend?"He shook his head, swallowing. "Not one sinlge girlfriend, not one single crush."Now I was shaking my head. "That's such a lonely life.""But I've got my hyungs, and my dongsaengs." "But you don't have love, Daehyun-ssi. This is love we're talking about. You've got to have tons of girls running after you.""I do. But they're all the same. They're not different. Every girl asks me for my autograph, a picture and they ask me to marry them. You're the first girl who didn't ask me anything when you first met me. Surprisingly, I was the one who did something first." He made a weird face, like he was looking back on the memory with happy thoughts. It made me smile. "Yeah." I laughed. "You scared me, actually. I thought you were some pervy stalker."He laughed, too. "Well, it's reasonable." He made a weird face and I laughed harder. "LaeJoon-ssi~" someone said. We both looked up, Daehyun swallowing his last bit of ice cream and me biting into my cone for the first time. I stopped biting once I saw who it was: HaNi and Zelo."H-HaNi-ssi," I whispered. Daehyun looked at Zelo, who was looking away. I stared at HaNi, who was staring back, something hard in her eyes. What's her problem? She came up to us."Are you guys dating?" she asked, pointing between Daehyun and me. "No--""Yes," Daehyun said, wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer. Huh?I looked at him with confused, wide eyes. He only stared at Zelo with hard eyes. Zelo's jaw moved and his eyes twitched slightly as he stared Daehyun down. "But you didn't take her pages," Zelo said, his expression not changing. "No, I didn't. But the person who did ripped them."Zelo glared at him and HaNi shook his arm, a confused expression on her face. She had no clue what we were talking about. "Junhong-ah~"He didn't answer her. "Junhong-ah~" she said again. "Let's go~" He didn't move for a second until she gently tugged him. His eyes were glued to Daehyun's as they stared each other down. What the heck...?After HaNi finally got Zelo to move, they left, walking down the street. I couldn't help but notice that Zelo was very stiff by her side. I looked at Daehyun. "What was that?" I asked."We're not really dating, don't worry.""No, the whole stare off with you and Zelo-ssi. What was that?""Nothing," he grumbled, getting up and walking away, not waiting for me. What...?  When I got back home, Zelo was on the couch. I tried to sneak past him, but he turned around and looked at me. "H-hi," I said, bowing slightly. He walked up to me and stared at me. "Are you really dating Daehyun hyung?""Huh? Oh, no. He just said that.""Really?" he asked, his voice and his face softening."Yeah." "Okay." He walked up the stairs, leaving me alone in the dark room. Did Daehyun get home okay? When I tried to look for him I couldn't find him...And why did they stare at each other like that? Why did Zelo ask me that? Why didn't he listen to HaNi?Why...?  Why was Zelo like that? Well, maybe you can guess. And where's Daehyun?lol, so mysterious. Thank you for commenting and subscribing~ Please keep on doing it and thank you once more!:)
