Arriving in Seoul, 16 May 3:37PMm style="font-family:'times new roman', times, serif;">“Ladies and Gentlmen we have just arrived at Incheon International Airport. Please do not unbuckle your seat belt until we have come to a complete stop. The time is currently 3:37PM. We hope you enjoyed your flight and will continue to take Air Korea.”Mei yawned, stretching her arms over her head in an attempt to ward off her tiredness. She waited until the airplane came to a complete stop before unbuckling her seat belt, gathering all of her stuff, and bounding off the plane. Mei headed toward the baggage claim, collecting her oversized suitcase, and headed outside to hail a cab. She gave the cab driver the whereabouts of her apartment and they sped off towards Seoul. When they arrived, Mei handed the cab driver the money after he helped her take her luggage out of the trunk. She took a deep breath, inhaling the air. I’m finally here. A huge smile plastered across her face as she dragged her luggage into the elevator and clamored into her apartment. She began to unpack, but a wave of fatigue hit her and she fell asleep on the unkempt couch. She awoke many hours later to a loud ringing that reverberated around the empty apartment. Mei groggily reached for her phone, fumbling to answer it. “Hello?” she said groggily.“MEI?” an anxious sounding Luhan answered.“Lulu?” Mei said sitting up and rubbing her eyes.“Why haven’t you been answering my calls? I was worried.”“Sorry Lulu, I was unpacking and I fell asleep,” Mei yawned.“Well you could have… never mind. I’m just glad you got here safely. Do you have any plans tonight?”“I was just going to unpack, but not really I guess.”“Great! I’ll pick you up at 8 for dinner! And don’t worry I have a great disguise.”Mei chuckled, “okay Lulu. See you at 8!” After hanging up, Mei checked the time on her phone as 6:57PM. m style="font-family:'times new roman', times, serif;">Crap. She began to frantically run around her apartment in search of all her stuff.Mei’s Apartment, 7:58PM Mei ran her hands down the sides of her blue dress as she waited for Luhan to come. She was in the middle of an intense game of Temple Run when her doorbell rang. She quickly slipped her phone in her pocket and went to answer the door. Mei was greeted by Luhan who was dressed in dark blue jeans and a dark grey hoodie with a hat and a pair of sunglasses.“Lulu!” Mei exclaimed launching herself at Luhan who returned her hug.“Mei,” Luhan breathed, taking his time to inhale her scent. She still smells the same. They stayed like that for a while before Mei pulled back, taking in Luhan’s appearance.“You’ve grown,” Mei noted.“You have too,” Luhan replied. It was true, Luhan had grown a good 2 or 3 inches in the 5 years they had not seen each other, and Mei had grown a good 3 or 4 inches.Mei scrunched her face up in thought. “Oh, I have something for  you,” Mei suddenly exclaimed while dragging Luhan into her apartment. She rummaged through her suitcase while Luhan sat on the couch looking around the apartment. She went back to her bag and dug out an old hat and tossed it to Luhan.Luhan caught it swiftly, “hey this is my old hat.”“Yeah I decided that I should give it back to you. Put it on, and let’s go I’m starving.” Luhan chuckled as they exited Mei’s apartment.“So where are we going?” Mei asked as they walked down the street, adjusting her purse.“It’s a surprise,” Luhan answered. After about 15 minutes of walking they ended up at a small, secluded noodle restaurant. “Here,” Luhan said as he began to walk in. Mei followed him inside. They were greeted by an elderly lady who smiled at the pair.“Ah so you’ve finally come back,” the elderly lady stated, giving Luhan a warm smile.“Ah yeah, this is my friend Mei that I’ve told you about,” Luhan replied, stepping aside so the elderly lady could meet Mei.“It’s wonderful to meet you Mei. I’ve heard so much about you,” the elderly lady greeted.Mei smiled, “All good things I hope. It’s wonderful to meet you too.” Mei bowed.“Of course. Lulu only says wonderful things about you. Now come on, I’ve already prepared your table,” the elderly lady said as she ushered Luhan and Mei to the back of the small restaurant to a secluded table. She placed two menus on the table, took their drink orders, and walked away to allow the two of them to place their orders.“This place is really nice,” Mei commented.“Yixing, Kris, and I used to come here a lot when we were trainees. The owners are Chinese-Korean so they make really good Chinese food and Korean food. Also, it’s really secluded, so most people don’t know about it, so it’s nice to come here and eat and relax after practice.” Mei and Luhan placed their orders and soon their food arrived.“This looks delicious,” Mei exclaimed looking at the noodles placed in front of her. They had begun to eat in silence when Luhan started talking again, “I’m really glad you’re here Mei.”“Me too Lulu. I really missed you,” Mei smiled at Luhan. Even though they had not seen each other in years, the conversation flowed easily as if they had never been apart for all those years. After their meal, Luhan paid and they exited the small shop.“I want to take you somewhere,” Luhan said as they exited the secluded noodle shop.“Hmm, and where would that be?”“It’s a surprise,” Luhan said steering Mei down the street. They walked for around 10 minutes until we finally arrived at the destination he had in mind: Han River. He grabbed Mei’s hand and walked toward the railing by the river. “What do you think?”“It’s beautiful,” Mei said breathlessly. She leaned forward on the railing and took a deep breath. His heart beat rapidly in his chest as he watched Mei. Five years. It’s been five years, and she’s still as amazing as she was five years ago. He missed her so much in those five years. He missed talking to her everyday, walking to and from school, he missed when she got mad at him for pulling pranks on her, he missed how she would get easily flustered, he missed how she would cook delicious food for him, he missed her smile, he missed her laugh, he even missed her yelling at him to get up in the morning and to do his homework or pick up his dirty clothes. She had gotten taller and her hair had grown longer, but to him, she was still the same sweet and caring 15-year old girl that had left him. He wished he could freeze this moment and replay it over and over again. “Hmm,” Mei begins cocking her head to the side to look at Luhan and effectively breaking his trance, “what are you thinking about?”“Just how I’m the luckiest guy ever right now,” Luhan smiles.Mei rolls her eyes at his response and lightly elbows him, “you’re so full of it Lulu. Come on, I’ll race you to end of the bridge!” Luhan chuckled, still such a kid. He chased after Mei who had already begun running down the length of the bridge. When they got to the end, they both stopped to catch their breath. “We… we should get ice cream!”“There’s a shop a little ways down,” Luhan replied, once again grabbing Mei’s hand and steering her towards a small ice cream shop. She didn’t seem to mind their constant skin ship. Luhan paid for their ice cream and they exited the small shop and began to walk aimlessly down the brightly lit streets.“How’s your ice cream?” Mei asked.“It’s good, do you want some?” Luhan asked. Mei nodded. Luhan tilted the cone towards her and took a bite out of it.“Delicious,” Mei replies. When they finished their ice cream, Luhan walked Mei back to her apartment. “Thanks for a great first night in Seoul,” Mei said as they approached the door to her apartment.“My pleasure,” Luhan replied. “I’m just really glad that you’re here.”“Me too,” Mei smiled at him. Honestly, she missed Luhan just as much as he missed her. She missed having her best friend around all the time, especially when she first arrived in the States and because of the language barrier it was hard to make friends at first. She felt lonely for the first year before she met her best friend, Maggie.“If you’re not busy tomorrow would you like to come over and meet the rest of Exo? They’re all dying to meet you.”“I’d love to! Maggie would kill me if I didn’t get Chen’s autograph for her,” Mei said the last part in all seriousness.“Okay, just text me when you’re coming over and I’ll send you the address.”“Okay sounds great!” They exchanged goodbyes, hugs, and went their separate ways.-------------[A/N]: Aish, it's 1:30 in the morning and I have class later... but instead of sleeping I decided to write this chapter...
