“Alright,” Tzuyu said, easily reaching over Chaeyoung to take the game at the top of the shelf. “Monopoly it is.”Momo smirked. “Good. We’ll be hating each other by dusk.”Chaeyoung giggled, turning and following Tzuyu to the older two girls present. It was how Momo had come to spend Fridays – playing board games with the School Lunch Club. She leaned against Dahyun’s bed, watching Tzuyu and Chaeyoung crouching to unfold the board.“I wanna play as the dog!” Dahyun said happily as she reached over, taking the characters bag as the board and cards were laid out. Momo smiled at Dahyun for a moment before moving forwards.“Alright,” she said. “I’ll be the hat.”“I’ll play music,” Chaeyoung said, crawling towards Dahyun’s phone stereo setup on all fours.“Play something dramatic,” Tzuyu said, eyeing the board with something fiery in her eyes. “For when I slay you all.”“Ooh, I look forward to it,” Momo said, smirking, and she was thrown off slightly by Dahyun gently reaching out and linking her arm with Momo’s.“I’m sorting out my game plan now,” Tzuyu said, leaning back as she sat cross-legged and stroking an invisible beard with her fingers. Then she scowled when Justin Bieber started playing. “Come on!” She called out, turning to see the tiny girl cackling. “Play something intense! How am I supposed to be an evil megalomaniac to Justin Bieber?”“What Do You Mean is such an intense song, though! Like, he’s asking such important questions in the lyrics!”“Aw, Tzuyu, you need good music for a good victory? I’d thought you were better than that.”Tzuyu took Dahyun’s bait, pouting but folding her arms in a very resolute, final way. “Fine. Who’s banker?” She asked as she took the dice, rolling to check her turns.“I’ll do it,” Momo said, reaching over and taking the pretty money. “I enjoy owning large amounts of money.”Chaeyoung rolled next, then Momo, then Dahyun, and in the end, Dahyun went first after Momo distributed the cash. She’d taken her dice, blowing on her chosen number, and then just a second before throwing, she met Momo’s eyes as her smile widened.Momo was more than used to feeling her pulse in her throat, so it was one more time to add to the list as Dahyun made her roll.

Momo liked dancing. It was a fairly straight-forward truth. She moved to Korea when her favourite dance studio shut down (along with failing grades and friends moving out and a long-lasting desire to see the place she’d apparently been born in, but they were mostly trivial details) and she now attended a dance class at her arts university, she occasionally snuck into a local dance studio at night to dance, during the day she’d spend as much time as she could practicing. But when all those went wrong, or maybe she had some emotions to expel, she went to clubs. Dancing cleared her head, especially combined with a drink or two. It was at a stool that she sat one midnight, a glass in hand as she watched the vague conglomeration of bodies jumping to the sound of a song, and she felt when someone sat beside her, swivelling around on the stool one two many times and chuckling about it.“It’s been a while since I saw you here,” she said, managing an idle smile as she swivelled her own stool, turning to look at the short-haired girl.“Fewer problems.”“Awesome,” Momo said, drinking another sip of her martini. “Nayeon worked out?”“Yeah, Mina just up and asked me if I liked her and it worked out from there.”“So why are you here now?”Jungyeon sighed, swivelling on her stool again while she thought. Momo had met her three or four times here, both pining over their unrequited love, even though they never talked outside it. But Jungyeon had had a flicker of hope that Momo didn’t, and Momo could only guess what had happened when she started showing up at night with an empty seat beside her.“I don’t know. She’s just being weird. How’s Dahyun?”“Oh, you know. Sana’s dating Mina.”Jungyeon sighed sympathetically. “They’re cute though.”Momo laughed. “They match each other well.”“Yeah. They’re both idiots.”“Well, I wasn’t just going to say that...”“I’ve got your back,” Jungyeon said, grinning. “The PDA is gross though. Nayeon hates PDA; she just glares at me every time we walk into her living room and they’re cuddling or something.”“Is that the problem?”“Sorta. I just feel like she wouldn’t hate PDA if there wasn’t something wrong. She doesn’t seem like a PDA hater to me.”“A PDA...ter.”Jungyeon looked at Momo blankly for a second. Then she took the martini glass from the blonde girl’s hand.“You’ve had enough.”Momo giggled, spinning around on her stool again and throwing her arms out. “At least I made a funny!”

“Okay,” came a voice, and Momo hardly heart the pattering of shoes against ground before a hand slid under her arm, intertwining with her fingers fast. “I’m done.”Ugh, Dahyun couldn’t just do that. Momo tried to keep her expression blank as she looked down at the younger girl, head pounding because apparently that stupid Jungyeon had been right.“How was class?”“I’ve forgotten all of it already. Yours?”Momo laughed. “Same,” she said, letting the conversation fall to silence as they walked through the university halls. It stayed that way until Momo heard the faintest sigh, and she had to hold her own back.“Everything okay?”Dahyun was quiet at first, eyes downturned. “Just… have you ever liked someone who didn’t like you back?”Oh. Momo looked away from Dahyun, feeling the other girl’s grip on her hand loosen.“Yeah. It sucks.”At that point, Dahyun let go of her hand. She withdrew when she was sad, and there wasn’t really much Momo could do about that.“It’s Sana,” Dahyun said, and Momo was just grateful that Dahyun could say that to her.Well, that wasn’t just it. But the pain wasn’t worth worrying about. With a sigh, Momo reached out, pulling Dahyun towards her, and the shorter girl leaned some weight on Momo as they walked.“I know, Dahyunnie,” she said, smelling Dahyun’s hair conditioner as the younger girl tried not to break down. “You’ll be fine.”“What’s so great about Mina-unnie anyway?” Dahyun said. “I don’t get it. It’s not fair. Sana never even notices me…”Momo tried not to sigh too obviously. “Do you wanna go get some chocolate pie?”“I don’t know…”“I’ll pay.”Dahyun smiled, looking mistily at Momo. “Okay, fine, then,” she said, letting the older girl grab her arm and begin dragging her away. “I swear, you’re my favourite person.”Momo smiled back at the girl for a second. She sort of wished that was true. And by 'sort of'...a/n- this was a bit of a filler chapter but hopefully it can tide you over and serve as a promise that I'm still alive :) Hopefully my writer's block wasn't toooo obvious in this chapter. I don't think the next chapter will take as long! Hopefully I'll be sharing it soon :D
