“Are you ready?” Minji asked Soohyun. Soohyun looked at her, as if asking what she was talking about. “We had decided to go to the orphanage today to pick up our child.”Soohyun scrunch his face up, “That’s for Thursday.”Minji rolled her eyes, “Today is Thursday.” Soohyun looked at her in surprise, he couldn’t believe he hasn’t been aware of the days going by.Kiseop leaned forward in the car when they were on their way to the orphanage. “Have you guys decided on a name?” he smiled at them.“Junghee.” Minji turned her head a little to be able to smile at Kiseop.“So, you’re going to choose a boy?”“We’re planning to.” Soohyun smiled, looking at the road as he drove. “Anyways, since you’re here, you’ll be able to help us choose.”An old woman greeted them when they arrived. “You can explore while we organize your paperwork. When the papers are done I will introduce the boys to you, you could even interview the ones that are old enough to speak.”“Thank you very much.” Soohyun smiled kindly at the woman before they began walking around the orphanage.“Woah~” Kiseop exclaimed when they saw the playground. “The fun I would have had if I had a playground like this growing up.” Kiseop twisted his lips as he watched the kids run and play around. “None of them seem like they would want to leave such a great place.”Minji laughed. “To some kids, having a family is more important than this.”“That’s what you think.” Kiseop smirked.Soohyun walked inside when Minji and Kiseop started playing hide and seek with the kids. They didn’t look like adults, running around and laughing as if they were kids themselves.He walked in the area where the babies were. They all seemed calm. Some were sleeping and others were just… being cute. One of the workers looked at Soohyun and smiled. “You seem nervous. Are you planning to adopt?” Soohyun looked at her and nodded softly. “I bet this will be your first time being a parent.”“Is it that noticeable?” Soohyun laughed nervously.“It’s normal to be like that at first. You’ll eventually feel more comfortable caring for your child.” She grabbed a baby and went to a table to change its diaper.Soohyun felt weird just standing there so he decided to sit down. He felt uneasy when he felt a weird vibe. When he looked to the side a girl was staring at him with eyes full of curiosity. “Hi.” he waved at the baby awkwardly.She blinked a few times before reaching for his pants with her tiny fingers. He looked down at a piece of chocolate Kiseop had given him earlier that was now peeking through his pocket. He laughed, “Such a young age and you can already distinguish candy. Smart girl.”Soohyun grabbed the chocolate from his pocket, unwrapped it, and fed it to her carefully. He was happy that he was able to make her smile so adorably. Just watching her chew the small piece of chocolate entertained him.She reached for his pocket again when she was done. “Sorry,” Soohyun pouted, “I don’t have anymore.” She stared at him for a while, with wide eyes, before starting to cry. Soohyun looked around in a panic, he didn’t know how to calm a baby down. He grabbed a piece of food from a tiny plate, that has been sitting on her chair, and handed it to her.He laughed when she continued eating it normally. “You remind me of my wife. If you give her food when she’s mad or upset, she forgets about everything.” He pat her head gently, “The two of you would get along well.”“The papers are ready.” the old woman said when she approached Minji and Kiseop. “I’ll assemble the boys when you’re ready.”Minji looked around for Soohyun in concern. “My apologies, but I need to find my husband first.”“I understand, I’ll be waiting in my office.”Minji and Kiseop found Soohyun playing with the baby. Minji watched with a bright smile in her face, she knew that Soohyun was going to be a good father but this helped her see it more clearly. She has waited for so long to become a mother, the time being so close made her stomach feel weird. She sat on the floor beside Soohyun and also played with the baby.Kiseop watched the three, they already seemed like a family. “Forget about the boy.” Soohyun and Minji looked at Kiseop when they heard him. Kiseop smiled softly, “I think she suits you better.” Soohyun and Minji looked at each other and smiled. Soohyun glared at Minji, “I don’t know which color to use to paint Junghee’s room.”Minji sighed deeply. “I already asked you to think about that after we know what theme to decorate her room… I’ve been thinking about something like a nature theme. We can have someone paint a beautiful tree on one of the walls.”Soohyun rolled his eyes, “You already made our room nature themed. Let’s choose something else. Put some clothes on Junghee, maybe she’ll be able to pick something while around different patterns in the store. We have to teach her how to make her own decisions now, while she’s still young.”Minji put some things into the baby bag while Soohyun watched Junghee. “I love you.” Soohyun kissed Junghee.
