Rage (1/1)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2z9Uc9W2Zs&feature=related *************You opened your eyes and looked around. You realized that you must have fallen asleep in the library. You got up and picked up the two books, closing the 'Alice in Wonderland' copy shut.As you were trying to find your way out of the library, you stopped. You heard muffled voices near you. Walking to where the voices came from, you heard the two people arguing."This isn't right, you know it isn't, Kevin!"*That's Eli's voice,* you thought. *What does he mean?*Grasping the books in your hand, you peeked through the shelves. You saw Kevin and Eli a few feet away from you, looking at each other with dark faces."I undestand why you're like this, but she's different," Kevin gritted his teeth."_____ is the same as any human, she doesn't belong here!" Eli shouted. You froze. You couldn't believe what Eli had just said. You felt extremely hurt at his words. You backed away from them quickly. In your haste, you accidentally hit a shelf behind you hard. A loud thud echoed throughout the library. You gasped. In a flash, Eli and Kevin were right next to you. Kevin's expression was one of worry. Eli, however, was completely furious. "Were you, by chance, eavesdropping on us?"You shook your head frantically. You looked at his face, the old fear of him returning. It had been a long time since you had seen him mad like this. It frightened you. "Stop it, Eli. You're scaring her," Kevin stood in front of you protectively, facing his brother. Eli shoved Kevin aside and grabbed you by your neck. He glared at you, his eyes turning deep red. He raised his hand and slapped you across the cheek. Hard. The hit sent you sprawling into a shelf, knocking against it and hurting your back. You got up slowly, wincing from the force of the impact. You looked at Eli, tears filling your eyes. You couldn't believe that he had just hurt you. You couldn't believe that he could be so... heartless."____!" Kevin got up and raced over to you. Frantically, he tried to heal you."Please stop," you whispered. You gently pushed his hand aside and got up, limping. Kevin gently helped you up. You looked at him and gave him a sad smile. You looked at Eli. Tears ran down your face, but you didn't take your gaze off him. Eli stared at you with cold eyes."Even though you have never treated me with kindness, I always thought that you were a good person. But you've proved me wrong," you said softly. Eli was silent. "I'm sorry for interrupting you conversation."You turned away from him and picked up you fallen books, wiping your tears away. No one said a word. You walked out of the library, shutting the doors behind you. Kevin turned to his brother, a look of pure hatred. "Why the hell did you have to do that to _____?!"All of Eli's anger had faded away. He sighed, his shoulders slumping. "This just shows how fragile she is," he said with a defeated tone."I knew that long before, you didn't have to prove it!" Kevin shoved his brother.Kevin would have beat his brother up, but thinking of you suddenly calmed him down. The will to see if you were alright was stronger than that of to fight with his brother. "I regret it. I'm sorry," Eli said quietly. And he did, truly. He regretted hitting you. He knew he shouldn't have, he knew that it definitely would have injured you. You were so small, like a glass figuirine. One hit and you would shatter. And that was exactly what all the boys were worried about. That you would break into a million pieces. Yet sometimes their anger got the best of them, especially Eli."I didn't mean to hurt her. I don't want her to end up like Songhae," Eli said. "I"m sorry, Kevin."Kevin sighed. "What happened to Songhae was not your fault, Eli. You must stop blaming yourself for it," Kevin said. He couldn't be mad at his brother. After all, he understood why he was so upset. Eli nodded numbly. "Please apologize to _____ for me. I didn't mean to be so harsh," he said quietly."I know. But if you hurt her ever again, I'm going to make sure you regret it," Kevin warned. With that, he strode out of the library to find you, leaving Eli with his own thoughts.
