Chapter 14 (1/2)
Woohyun walked into the building, heading straight for the front desk, asking for Tae Mu. The secretary picked up a phone, and had a conversation with someone who didn't seem to be Tae Mu. She hung up and pointed to the elevator, "24th floor, get off and turn to your right, then go down the hall."
Woohyun nodded, thanking her and walked off to the elevator, getting in and wondering if he was making a mistake. He probably was. Why make the problem worse? But he couldn't help it, he had to say something to Tae Mu. Sunggyu was a wreck right now, and Woohyun hated seeing the leader like that.
The elevator opened and Woohyun walked out, turning right and walking down the hall to eventually find a polished looking door, with a sign reading "CEO Young Tae Mu" attached to it. Woohyun knocked and heard a distant, "Come in."He opened the door, standing still at the doorway, and Tae Mu sat at his desk not looking up from his paperwork. Woohyun, annoyed by this, proceeded to enter the office and slam the door shut. Tae Mu leaned back and looked up, staring at Woohyun emotionlessly, "You don't need to create a commotion. I was well aware of your presence."
Woohyun resisted the urge to slam the door again, over and over until security was called. Instead he walked over to a chair in front of Tae Mu's desk and sat down, "I wanted to talk to you about Sunggyu."
Tae Mu smirked, "What are you, his bodyguard?"
Woohyun ignored his comment, "You should stay away from him. He understands the kind of person you are now, and he really doesn't want to see you anymore."
"I think I'd rather hear that from Sunggyu himself before I take it to heart."
"He's not going to tell you anything. I knew from the start what a liar you were and Sunggyu didn't see it because you manipulated him. You know, you had a great boyfriend, and you completely screwed yourself. You should've respected him."
Tae Mu rolled his eyes and stood up, smoothing down his suit and walking over to the door. He opened it up and gestured towards the exit, "I don't think this conversation is leading anywhere. You can go now. Nice speaking to you."
Woohyun stood up and faced him, but didn't leave, "You must be really jealous of me."
Tae Mu cocked his head, smiling slightly, "Excuse me?"
Woohyun laughed, "I know part of what makes you angry at Sunggyu, is how close he is with me. It must eat away at you."
Woohyun could see that he was irking Tae Mu a little, as his face seemed to be getting a little more serious, so he continued.
"I mean, you must lie there at night and worry over it. Sunggyu and I are roomates after all. You must wonder if there are nights when Sunggyu can't sleep or he's worrying over any performances we have to do, and he just needs some comfort from someone. Someone like me."
Tae Mu nodded towards the door, "You done yet?"
Woohyun stepped closer to him, "That he would call out for me and I'd go over to him, let him latch onto me and talk to me about all his problems. And I'd whisper in his ear, tell him it would all be okay. It really must irk you."
Tae Mu closed the door and stepped forward, closing the space between him and Woohyun, "I'm done with this conversation. I really suggest you leave."
Woohyun stared straight into his eyes, too emersed in the moment to consider what he was saying, "I'd run my hand through his hair, he'd hold me tighter, grab onto me for dear life. You know, we pretty much spend almost every minute together. Probably more time than he would spend with you. I know him better. And it just gets to you so much that you hit him. Now that's some huge jealousy you've got going on. I really feel for you."
Woohyun felt Tae Mu's fist connect with his face as he finished his sentence and he stepped back, hand touching his burning cheek, surprised that he had been punched. He proceeded to mentally punch himself a couple seconds later as well, for not expecting the blow to his face. Tae Mu pointed to the door, clearly trying hard not to hit him again, "Get the hell out of my office."
Woohyun smiled, making sure Tae Mu was looking straight at him, "You just proved how jealous you are. And that's the kind of satisfaction that lasts longer than a simple punch would. Now, I'm going home to see Sunggyu. Have a nice day Tae Mu."
Woohyun walked past him, making sure to slam the door on his way out. As he got to the elevator, he started to realize that the only reason he came was for himself, and he really shouldn't of used his friendship with Sunggyu to make Tae Mu mad. He quickly went from feeling proud of himself to feeling guilty and the smile on his face began to turn into a frown as he stepped into the elevator and began to rub his hurt cheek, guiltily.
_________
Sunggyu awoke to an empty, quiet room. He looked around for Woohyun, who had said he would be back but didn't see him anywhere. He sat up moaning at the sudden pain he felt. He tried to push it down, realizing he had to go to the bathroom and then slowly stood, walking to the door and placing his hand on the doorknob. He paused, not knowing what to do. He had to use the washroom but that meant he had to leave his room, and risk being seen by anyone other than Woohyun. He took a deep breath and cracked open the door, finding the living room empty. He sighed in relief, quietly heading over to the bathroom. When he walked in, he made sure not to look at his face in the mirror. He did his business and walked out, almost getting back to his room when Dongwoo walked out. He stopped, stuck in his spot, and Dongwoo froze, surprised to see Sunggyu out of his room.
"Hyung, are you....feeling okay?"
Sunggyu nodded, feeling extremely embarassed, knowing how bad he looked, "W-where's Woohyun?"
"He went out, I'm not sure where. He should be back soon. Do you want me to get you something to eat?"
Sunggyu's heart was racing with nervousness about what Dongwoo was assuming happened to his face.
"U-um, no. I'm just gonna go back to my room."
He started walking away, stopping when he heard Dongwoo's voice again, "Whatever you need, I'm here Sunggyu."
Sunggyu nodded and left the room, about to lie down again. Instead he walked over and picked up his phone, deciding to listen to the rest of his messages from Tae Mu. They started out angry but then became more calm and Sunggyu, finding himself missing the nice Tae Mu suddenly saw his fingers dialing Tae Mu's number and he put the phone up to his ear, cursing himself for being so weak.
"Sunggyu?"
Sunggyu didn't answer, not knowing what to say.
"Sunggyu, did you get my messages? I've been so worried. You have no idea. I'm so sorry. I never meant to-to hit you. You have to believe me. It was an accident."
Sunggyu still didn't answer, thinking about all the familiar things Tae Mu was saying to him. He stared at the wall ahead of him, not knowing what to do.
"Sunggyu?"
Sunggyu heard the front door close, and he quickly hung up, turning off his phone and putting it away. A minute later Woohyun walked in, smiling at Sunggyu. Sunggyu stood, staring, noticing a red mark on Woohyun's cheek.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you I was gonna be gone. You were sleeping. I bought you some-"
"What happened to your face?"
Woohyun touched his cheek, "Ah, it was nothing."
Sunggyu scrunched his face, "Where did you go?"
"To buy food!"
Sunggyu walked over to Woohyun, staring at him hard, "You're lying to me."
Woohyun couldn't contain his guilt and slowly he nodded, "I-I went to see Tae Mu."
Sunggyu sat, angry. Woohyun slowly sat down in front of him, crossing his legs. They sat in silence until Sunggyu finally spoke.
"You had no right Woohyun."
"I know, Sunggyu. I just, I was mad and I did a stupid thing. I shouldn't have, I really regret it."
Sunggyu stared at him, reaching out his hand and touching the mark on Woohyun's cheek, "And he hit you."
Woohyun froze, gulping, his heart staring to beat loudly, flooding his ears, "Y-yeah."
Sunggyu stared into Woohyun's eyes, wondering why he couldn't look away. Sunggyu seemed to find himself wanting Woohyun around him more and more and he had no idea why. He pushed away his curiosity and with some difficulty, Sunggyu finally pulled himself away, getting up and walking across the room to grab a sweater. He put it on, crossing the room again to his bed, and lying down. Woohyun, who had stayed frozen on the floor, finally came to his senses and spoke up, "Sunggyu, you need to eat."
"Later. I'm tired."
"You've been sleeping all day."
Sunggyu didn't answer and Woohyun stood up, about to the leave the room when he turned back.
"Sunggyu, you're not mad at me? For seeing Tae Mu?"
"I would've done the same thing."
"Thank you, for understanding."
Sunggyu didn't answer again, and Woohyun walked over to him, leaning down in front of him. Sunggyu looked up.
"Are you sure you don't want to eat Sunggyu? Or atleast let me get you some water or something?"
Sunggyu shook his head, "Just let me sleep okay?"
Woohyun slowly nodded, wishing Sunggyu would atleast smile. He stood up and walked out, stealing one last glance at Sunggyu as he left to eat his dinner.
________
When dinner was just about done, Woohyun's manager walked in, wanting to talk to Sunggyu. Woohyun nodded and trailed behind his manager as he walked into his and Sunggyu's room. Sunggyu hadn't fallen asleep yet, his body hurting too much. He turned as the door opened and was surprised to see his manager. He walked over and sat on Woohyun's bed, facing Sunggyu, who slowly sat up. Woohyun closed the door and leaned back, ears ready. His manager turned to him, "Woohyun, can you give us some privacy?"
Sunggyu smiled slightly, seeing the worry on Woohyun's face, "Just a couple minutes."
Woohyun slowly left the room and when he was gone, Sunggyu's manager sighed, "So, want to tell me what happened a couple nights ago?"
Sunggyu looked away, "It was Tae Mu's birthday party, I just drank a little too much, took more of those pills than I realized and I guess I ended up in the hospital."
"What? I thought you ate something bad!"
Sunggyu almost smacked himself. He had completely forgotten his lie.
"U-um, I..."
His manager placed his head in his hands for a couple seconds, taking a deep breath, "You lied to me. Okay, Sunggyu, it's time we had a serious talk about the way you've been acting lately."
"I'm sorry I lied to you. I really am. I won't do something like that again. It was just an accid-" Sunggyu cut himself off, realizing he sounded just like Tae Mu.
