Chapter 8 (1/2)
Hours later, Sunggyu helped Tae Mu into the car. He had had way too much to drink and Sunggyu now attempted to drive, hoping that he wouldn't get caught by the police. Ten minutes later, narrowly escaping bumping into another car, a pole and a beef shop, he parked the car at Tae Mu's building and pulled him out. They stumbled up to his apartment, where Sunggyu dug into Tae Mu's jacket for his keys and opened the door, dragging Tae Mu to the couch.
Sunggyu sighed, sitting down as well. He didn't realize one drink had turned into more than ten and he felt like an idiot now, for suggesting that to him. Tae Mu grabbed Sunggyu's hand, singing unintelligibly.
Sunggyu stood up, "I think I should get you some coffee."
Tae Mu pulled him back down, "Sunggyu! Coffee is for fools. Fools who don't know how to let loose, like I do!"
Sunggyu, confused, was about to get up again when Tae Mu suddenly kissed him. Sunggyu, turning into silly putty, kissed him back, until he finally came back to his senses and realized how drunk and smelly Tae Mu was. He pushed him away and Tae Mu, not getting the point, tried to kiss him again. He grabbed Sunggyu, who tried to move away.
"Tae Mu, stop."
Tae Mu, continued to try and kiss him and Sunggyu tried to push him back. Tae Mu, suddenly gaining force, shoved him back into the corner of the couch.
"What's you problem!?"
Sunggyu, not knowing what to do, slowly stood up, "I should leave."
Tae Mu shakily stood up and grabbed him, "NO! COME ON! You wanted to stay the night!"
"Yeah. I did! What are you trying to say?"
"Well, what did you expect me to think?!"
"Look, I just didn't want to deal with the other members right now. I just wanted to crash on your couch! If you thought I wanted to stay for some other reason, you're wrong. I think it would be best if I left now."
Sunggyu stormed to the door and was about to open it when he was suddenly turned around and shoved into the door by Tae Mu. Sunggyu pushed him away.
"STOP IT!"
"SHUT UP!"
"WHY SHOULD I!?"
Sunggyu felt a slight pain on the side of his head as Tae Mu tried to punch him, slightly missing his face in his drunkenness. Before Sunggyu could react, he felt a punch in his stomach that sent him backing into the door. He fell to his knees, swearing as pain went shooting up his back. Sunggyu tried to breathe properly from the blow to the stomach. He stood up and Tae grabbed him, shoving him towards the living room.
"GO AHEAD! CRASH ON THE COUCH!"
Sunggyu stood, staring at the couch, not knowing what to do. His brain was telling him to walk out but his feet weren't getting the message. He was shoved again and Tae Mu continued to shout at him.
"What, do I have to drag you there myself?!"
Sunggyu found himself alone in the living room all of a sudden as Tae Mu rushed to spill his guts out in the bathroom.
Sunggyu sat down, wincing at the pain in his back. He sat there, silent, frozen in shock. He heard Tae Mu's retching stop, but he didn't come back out. Sunggyu jumped as his phone rang.
"H-hello?" His voice sounded like a shout in the quiet apartment.
"Sunggyu? Are you okay?"
"Y-yeah. Just tired. What's up?"
"You're not mad?"
"Mad?"
"Sunggyu. You do remember the conversation we had right? More like a fight? I said some things about Tae Mu?"
"Oh. Yeah. Woohyun, it doesn't matter, you were just doing what a good friend would do."
"I feel bad though. I shouldn't have said what I said. And-"
"You just called because you wanted to know what I was doing in case I did something I'd regret in my anger towards you right? Not really cause you feel bad?"
"Hehe, yeah, kind of."
"Woohyun, let's just forget that fight okay? It was stupid."
"Okay. And I'll try to be a little more accepting of Tae Mu. I won't....judge him."
Sunggyu suddenly found himself shaking. His back was burning.
"Sunggyu Hyung?"
"Yeah?"
"I think you should come home."
"Me too. Wait up for me okay?"
"Okay. Are you walking? Maybe I'll meet you halfway."
"K. I'll see you."____________________
Sunggyu hung up and took deep breaths, knowing that he looked like crap. He stood, and looked around the living room. He walked into the bathroom to find that Tae Mu had passed out on the floor. He stepped past him to his medicine cabnet. He opened it and looked through, finding some pain pills. He looked at the bottle and realized that the date Tae Mu had gotten it was about a month ago and there were hardly any pills gone. Sunggyu took a couple, and popped the pills into his jacket, thinking it would be awhile before Tae Mu noticed they were gone. He fixed his hair and cleaned up the little trickle of blood that had accumulated on the side of his head. He smoothed out his clothes and got a glass of water from the kitchen, then walked out the door. Walking along in the dark, Sunggyu tried to look calm and cool, but all he was thinking about was what had happened. The pain he was feeling had started to go down and Sunggyu was wondering how he would even be able to get up tomorrow when he bumped into someone.
"Sorry! Oh! Woohyun."
Woohyun, looking like Sunggyu's savior who had popped out of the dark to save him, smiled wide and gave him a hug. Sunggyu was surprised by this and froze for a moment before hugging him back. He latched onto Woohyun's black and white t-shirt and tried not to tear up. They hugged for a long time and then Sunggyu, about to break down if he didn't let go, removed himself from Woohyun's arms. They began walking and Woohyun put his arm around Sunggyu.
"Ah, Hyung, how was the rest of your day?"
"Uh, pretty fun." Sunggyu tried not to cringe at the half lie.
"What about you, Woohyun?"
"Boring. I stayed in my room all day and basically did nothing." Woohyun thought back to how he stormed into the dorm and to his room, not wanting to come out knowing that everyone would be asking him what was wrong and where Sunggyu was. He especially did not want to see Dongwoo's pity for him come out again.
Sunggyu nodded. He was beginning to feel more light and happy. Probably the pills. He stopped, turning to Woohyun and grabbing his hand. Woohyun's heart started racing a little.
"Are you hungry? We should go get some noodles. I need noodles right now!"
"Well, yeah. I already ate some noodles, hours ago tho-"
Sunggyu pulled Woohyun along, and they walked/ran over to a store and bought some noodles. Sitting on a curb, they began to eat hungrily. Sunggyu finished eating first and layed back on the sidewalk, stretching his arms out. Woohyun turned to him, "You do know that that is a sidewalk right? Millions of dirty shoes walk right where your head is every single day."
