The c/blocker, the return (1/1)
October 14/Key’s POV “Key-ssi,”“Huh?”“I just noticed,” So Eul-noona said while cutting the onions. “Do you and HyunMi have a time-table to follow? I mean, the schedule of when you visit her,”“We do, noona. Why?” We were in the kitchen cooking something for the mouths to be fed, and noona forced me to do it with her because this meal will be quite special—it’s the first time everyone in the West Wing will have dinner together.“I just noticed… you’re here for like, every day.” I could sense something in her voice, but I couldn’t exactly point out what it is.“Now that you’ve mentioned it…” I thought with the tip of the fork on my lip, looking at the ceiling. “Yeah.”“Why is that?”I almost answered, none of your business, but of course that would be rude. “I don’t know, noona. I just like it hanging out here,” I answered. “And… to keep an eye on my partner, I guess.”“Really?” she laughed, amused at something I don’t know.“You don’t believe me?”“Eh? Oh, I do. It’s just that… your answer’s a bit…odd,”“What part is odd?”“You said ‘to keep an eye on HyunMi’. What do you mean by that?” noona inquired, then tasted the soup.“It’s… um… she told me… she’s a bit… lonely here. I mean, of course you guys are here, but I more or less made a promise to her to visit her as often as I can, so…here I am,” I said, quite lost in thought.“Hmm-mm.”I looked at her, looking for a reaction.“The soup’s yummy.” Was what she said.I frowned in dissatisfaction. She turned to me and said, “Keep it up, then. It may sound exaggerated, but protect HyunMi, ‘kay? She’s fragile to me,”“I agree.” After that, we had lunch together—the six of us, the West Wing people, and noona and I got praised for our cooking. HyunMi’s eating pretty much said all the praises. She finished six bowls. The next day, HyunMi’s viewpointWe were just done celebrating Donghae-oppa’s day. He said he had to leave early, because he had schedules to attend to. But still, we had a blast at our little feast in the East Wing.It was around 1pm, and I was on the garden, sitting on the swing-set while studying a book about sketching. I looked up as this voice said—“Annyeong haseyo, HyunMi-ssi.”“Well what do we know? It’s you again!” I greeted him back.He sat at the next swing set beside mine. He leaned himself in a bit to the direction of the book I was reading. “Do you mind telling me what you’re reading?”I showed him the book. “Studying sketching,”“Where’s Key?”“Oh, he’s not around. Out for schedules, obviously. By the way, what brings you here?”Dongwoon fixed his position. “Just…I had nothing to do, so I decided to visit you,”“Visit me?” I lifted my brows.“Ne.”“Ya need somethin’?”He shook his head with a smile. “No. Do I need to need something from you so I can visit you?”I looked at the ground, puzzled. “It’s just that…aww, come on! Why are you here?”“Too see you, I told you!” he said, laughing.“Dongwoon you’re freaking me out!” I covered my face that was getting warmer by the second. He held my arm and put it down. “Oh, no! Don’t be…shy. HyunMi-ssi, can I ask you something?”I narrowed my eyes, looking at him. “Hmm.”“Is it all right if I visit you?”I rubbed the bottom of my nose. “Sure. But you’re still freaking me out.”He laughed. “Don’t be. Chill, it’s not like I’m gonna bite you or anything,”“I know you won’t. But you really freak me out,”“Why?”“You…” I looked at him with a frown and a warm face. “Seem to have a hidden agenda.”“Oh?” he really seemed to be messing with me; he was laughing. “No I’m not. Let’s just say, I’ve gotten interested in you ever since the first time we met,”“Which ended on a sour note.”He laughed. “Yes.” Then what I said to Dongwoon next almost blew his mind off because of the frankness of the statement flatly said.“Are you flirting with me?”His eyes widened that he didn’t know what to answer. As he collected his wits he replied, “That’s a bit too… no, HyunMi-ssi. And I praise you for your straightforwardness.”“Good.” I remarked. Then we I talked to him in a more carefree way after that, not putting malice in his sweet, gentlemanly acts. I can say he’s a gentleman—the exact opposite of my partner. That night, Kibum and I were sitting in my room in silence when he asked, “Noodle-head.”“What.”“Lemme ask you something,”“Shoot.”“Is Dongwoon hitting on you?”I almost choked on the bonbon I was eating. “What?”“Is he hitting on you?”This made me fall into a little trance of thought for a while, and I answered, “He says he’s not…but…”“But what?”“I wish he would.” I said jokingly, and recommended a laugh. But you know what they say, jokes are half-meant. But then again, of course I don’t like Dongwoon. He’s just the opposite of me, that’s all, and that’s what I like about him.Kibum rolled his eyes. He stood up, and went out the room. “I’ll be going,” was the last thing he said, and we didn’t talk for the next three days.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(damn. Is this turning to a Hyunmi-Dongwoon love story? LOLOLOL)
