Unintended Confession (1/2)
Jinni made her way home in a cheery mood. She was glad about her sweet little interaction with Baekhyun. She remembered the day he had generously offered her a glue stick. It was something so simple, but so significant to her. Something else that was signficant was when she was appointed her special power.
It is rare for people to have whole mutations. Not every human is uniquely gifted. Jinni happened to be one of the fortunate or maybe unfortunate of the Solitary society to gain her very own talent. Others like Baekhyun and Suho were also one of the chosen to have their own magical touch.
They attend a school that gives a wide education about super-incredibility. Capable High School, where no one is misplaced, since everyone is different. For instance, people who have levitation as their power are found levitating around the halls, and people who have the power to manipulate fire have the requirement to wear special gloves. Basically, the whole school is made out of a variety of mutants. These extraordinary beings are obligated to avoid collisions with regular human beings by having to live in the Solitary Society. And it is all for safety purposes.
Jinni's parents were expecting a powerful force out of their child, since, they themselves, were given such massive powers. Her mother could shift seasons, and her father could reverse time. These mutations exist from descendants that have been experimented on in the past. Which would explain the passing down and spread of mutations. Though like previously stated, only some families are especially gifted.
Jinni appreciated her gift. She could control the weather however she pleased. There were some downs about her power, though. Many people have seen the way she threw a fit and it always ended in chaos. They were too frightened of how destructive she could be. This saddened Jinni, since it affected her relationships with people. What got her though the lonesome feeling was, Baekhyun. The slight thought of him could bring the birds to sing and the skies to clear.
"Why hasn't he asked me out yet?" She sighed.
"Byun Baekhyun, will you ever be mine?"
"Dude, you're cheating!" Baekhyun outbursted.
He and Suho had their butts glued to the couch and their eyes glued to the screen. They were in the zone with their video game. Baekhyun was taking it a little too seriously.
"What do you mean cheating? You just suck!" Suho remarked.
"You're obviously reading my mind to see what attack I'm going to use on you!"
"Just admit I'm better than you at this game!"
"Never!"
Baekhyun did his best to defeat Suho, but the outcome of course, was the total opposite. The power of mind reading had it's advantages.
Suho yawned before resting his back on the couch. The two were absorbed with games for at least two hours. Baekhyun joined him, and the two stared at the ceiling boredly.
"What do you want to do now?"
Suho shrugged.
"Wait," He sat up. "Didn't you want to try your power out?"
"How? If I don't know how?"
"Well you attend your own class! You should know how it works!" Suho reminded.
Baekhyun did take a class that revolved around his power. Everyone was put into their own special class. Baekhyun's power was being able to swap bodies. Unlike most mutants, Baekhyun had to be tested to see what his power was. Since his parents were both mutants, Baekhyun's case of not having a power worried them, because he would be considered an abnormal. However, Baekhyun had a tested positive for a spectacular type of power to use only when needed. Since there was no need to use it, he never really had the chance to handle his power.
"You want to switch bodies with me?" Baekhyun chuckled.
"If I could switch lives with you, I so would." Suho subconsiously admitted.
"What? Why?" Suho had sparked Baekhyun's interest.
Suho mentally face-palmed himself for slipping such a dangerous hint of how he really felt. He only gulped in response.
"Dude, Come on." Baekhyun socked his arm.
Suho inhaled deeply.
"OkaysoIkindoflikeSeongJinniandIhavebeensincelikekindergarten." He exhaled the confession.
"Slow it down." Baekhyun frustratedly replied.
"I. like. Seong. Jinni! Okay!" Suho dived his pink face into the couch's pillows.
Baekhyun sat unusually still.
He couldn't register the words correctly. Did he just hear his best friend say that he liked the girl who likes him?
"Get up!" Baekhyun pulled his best friend back into place. His ears were red after admitting something he had been hiding for years.
"How come you never told me?!"
"Well, how can I when you hate her so much?" He groaned.
"I don't hate her! I just hate that she likes me!" He corrected.
"Why don't you try talking to her yourself? Who knows? Maybe she'll like you!" Baekhyun excitedly encouraged.
Suho rolled his eyes.
"I can't. She's too absorbed in liking you. She really likes you for you." He sighed.
Baekhyun bit his lip. He felt bad that he was taking his best friend's dream girl. And the fact that he wasn't doing it on purpose still made him feel guilty. He felt the need to help him out somehow. If he did so, it would help himself out as well.
"I got it!" Baekhyun raised a finger as a brilliant idea hit him.
"Oh, no." Suho knew already what he was up to.
