Chapter 8 (1/1)

Yongguk took his second sandwich and sighed deeply. "I didn't deserve it. It happened when I was nineteen." I motioned for him to go on as I began eating my sandwich."My sister had dated this guy for four months, but he was a fucking piece of shit." My eyebrows raised at the random venom in his voice and he let out a short laugh."I'm a very protective person." I let out a hum of understanding and he continued. "My sister already knew that I hated him, but she never listened to why I hated him. A huge thing was that he didn't have a job and all he did was free load off her and our family. He was fucking trash."He cleared his throat after he swallowed another bite of his sandwich. "He was over at our house one night and we wanted to get pizza. So I went out to buy some.""I trust my sister for fifteen minutes with a guy, but I didn't trust him. When I got back, the house was quiet. I said their names a couple of times, but there was no answer until I heard my sister scream.""I ran upstairs to her room and I saw her laying on the floor with a black eye and crying." He cleared his throat again."As I was helping her up, she kept pointing at her boyfriend and I turned around and his fist was still raised, but he was frozen. I, however, wasn't frozen and I immediately beat his ass.""I kind of went into a rage. I really despised this prick and now he decided he was going to hit her too? I don't think so. I basically beat the guy to a pulp, dragged him out the room and threw him down the stairs." I gave Yongguk an once-over as we took our last bites of our sandwiches. Uh, damn."My sister was screaming the entire time and we were basically making a shit load of noise and the neighbors called the cops. I ended up bashing his head in, broke his leg, gave him too many severe bruises to count and two black eyes." He coughed and I quickly shut my mouth that was hanging open."The cops came along with the ambulance. It turned out that I actually killed him and I got sent to prison.""W-wow! I'm sorry Yongguk! Was your sister okay?" I asked as I moved closer to him. "Yeah. She was fine and is fine now. She used to visit me twice a week, but after a year passed, she stopped coming. It was kinda lonely once she stopped coming." I let out a sigh as he looked at me. "Did anyone come see you? Father? Mother?" He just laughed. "Nah. They were gone a long time ago, but that's a whole nother story." I nodded slowly. "Hmm. Sounds like my dad."Yongguk looked at me again and I gave him a warm smile, making a smile break out on his face too. "Well! Your sister is lucky to have a brother like you.""Haha, yeah. A brother that killed her boyfriend." I shook my head rapidly."No! That's not what I meant. I meant that she could always count on you. You were always there to protect her and you probably saved her from something really terrible. Seriously. She's lucky to have a brother like you."He smiled again, but it was much wider smile. A ridiculously adorable gummy smile. At the sight of it, I couldn't help but smile and giggle like an idiot. His smile immediately wiped off his face at the noise. "What's so funny?" I tried to hold back more giggles at how quickly he got offended before I got a hold of myself. "No! No! It's nothing. Your smile..." I couldn't help but smile just at the thought of it."Wait. What? What about my smile?" His expression turned from offended to concerned and my grin only widened. "Haha, no! It's cute... you should smile more often!""Oh my god! Shut up!" I laughed when Yongguk punched me in the arm, grinning widely when the gummy showed again. It was seriously one of the cutest things I've ever seen.A loud crack of lightning shocked the house, Yongguk jumping at the noise and making me crack up in the process."It was just lightning!" Another similar crack was heard, followed by a loud bang. Abruptly, Yongguk stood up and went over to the door. "What's wrong?" I asked with a worried tone. "Shit." He walked over to the window, looking out of it before he turned back to look at me. "Well. We have a problem.""What?!" I got up and looked out the window. "Are you fucking shitting me." The lightning had struck a truck, breaking it and tipping it over, blocking the door and the window next to it. Fuck my life."What are we gonna do?!" Yongguk gave me another smirk before he laid back down on the couch."Beats me. Seems like I'm staying for while."
