From this day forward,

You shall not walk alone.

My heart will be your shelter,

And my arms will be your home.

Why, Min? Why?

Kyuhyun woke up panicking. His chest was hammering so hard that he had a trouble in lifting himself up. It took him a couple of minutes before he could sit up on bed, but unfortunately as soon as he was up, his hamstring suddenly started pounding, preventing him from sitting straight. His arms followed suit, and slowly, his muscles were jerking. He lose grip of the bed sheet and his body limped to the mattress as his whole body quaked. Kyuhyun forced his mouth to speak but to no avail.

He lied helplessly on the bedspread. Kyuhyun though, was not new to this thing, and so, he closed his eyes and forced himself to relax. He knew when he catch the proper breathing, his muscles would somehow relax. A few more thumps of his chest, he felt his jaw loosen and was able to open his mouth. His arms and legs though, wouldn't stop.

"Min..." he called. His voice was in between soft and loud. A few moments later, he heard sound of footsteps toward his bedroom. He exhaled slowly, controlling his breathing as his limbs jerked off, feeling the familiar perspiration staining his skin. He frowned.

"Kyu, you're a--, Oh my god, KYU!" Sungmin pushed the door and ran towards him. "Here.” Sungmin sat beside him and immediately took the pill case on the bedside table and placed a medicine in his mouth. Kyuhyun swallowed the drug with mch effort, forcing his throat close and waited for it to kick in.

Sungmin was rubbing soft circles on his back as his muscles relaxed, the older man massaged him slowly. He smiled as he leaned towards, glad that his control was slowly coming back.

"Are you okay now?" Sungmin asked him minutes later. His muscles were ticking slowly but Kyuhyun had regained hold of them once again.

"Mmm" he replied softly. "Hungry..."

Sungmin giggled and pushed him lightly. "I'm making dinner now. Your afternoon nap took a little long. Join me in the kitchen?"

Kyuhyun nodded and allowed Sungmin to aid him to stand up. They walked quietly to the kitchen and he settled himself in the counter. Kyuhyun stared at Sungmin’s back as the older prepared their dinner.

It has been a while, three months actually, and Sungmin and him were almost back together. Ever since diagnosed with the incurable disease, Kyuhyun had never been happy. Sungmin was there, he was always there. And Kyuhyun was glad that his husband was pushing all efforts to make up to him and to care for him. There were times he would think he was dreaming, that any moment, when he open his eyes, Sungmin would be gone and he’ll be back on his solitude.

But everything’s real, and everything’s happening much to Kyuhyun’s contentment. Sungmin is there and they’re together. It was not anymore a dream.

Still, there were nights that they would talk about their life. It was funny on how they were acting like awkward couples, getting to know each other and such but as time passed, they were more comfortable, sharing each other's thoughts like before.

Kyuhyun had listened to Sungmin, his adventures and failures when he ran away. He had told him of his mishaps in Japan, and how every depressing thought seemed to be a punishment to him. Sungmin admitted to him his denials, his lies and how he tried to hide his real self. Kyuhyun too, told Sungmin of his depression, and his frustration. He had told him of his suicide tendencies. He talked about Jongwoon and Ryeowook and Heechul. He told him everything.

The stories of each other's live for the past year and a half would always leave them crying, but it was different this time around. They would cry together, and then smile at each other, sometimes they would laugh after crying. It was during these moments that they understood themselves.

He could still remember though, when Sungmin told him of that one night of betrayal. He had apologized a million times that night. Kyuhyun could still remember the pain in him when Sungmin related it to him

“Kyu…. I… I need to tell you something.”

He looked at Sungmin’s face, it was full of apprehension and fear. “What is it?” he asked.

“I… I betrayed you, Kyu… I did something wrong and…”

“Sungmin, we have gotten over the betrayal-part already, right? Let’s just…”

“You don’t understand, when I was in Japan… I, I did something I shouldn’t have done. I… Kyuhyun I… I slept with someone…”

Silence.

“I was drunk and frustrated. I didn’t know what I was doing. It was that time when Masaki was making things difficult for me… and I couldn’t contain my guilt of you and I…”

He walked away, not really listening to anymore explanations, leaving the older man weeping on his own as he himself held onto the burden of betrayal.

He did not speak to the man for days, almost a week to be exact but Sungmin's constant pleads made him forget. It was painful and heart-breaking, Kyuhyun couldn’t imagine anything anymore that time but his mind and heart knew better. He had consulted Heechul about it and the doctor, as usual, scolded him.

That little skunk! He dared to sleep with another person while you're suffering, Ugh, the nerve.

Heechul, please. Let's try to be rational here.

Rational? Was he rational when he did that??
