Broken Vow - Part 3 (1/1)
“I miss him.” He murmured. “I love him so much that it hurts me.” His hands were moving, they were never still and earlier, the hand grip he was holding dropped on the floor. Heechul was seated opposite him. It was his third session with his new therapist, and somehow, Kyuhyun had found himself opening up to him little by little.Heechul scolded him most of the times, he shouted at him and even cussed at him. He called him names and such but Heechul’s words never offended him. Maybe because all of them are true. He had pitied himself, hated himself and wallowed in an undeniable loneliness only to found out that he is making things worse for him. Heechul was able to point various things out in the short span of time they had met. Kyuhyun never complained.“You’re too kind,” Heechul spoke. “That is one of your problems and might even be the reason that this Sungmin, your husband, felt like leaving you.”Kyuhyun lifted his gaze and matched the man’s, curious of his words. “What? He… he…”He heard the doctor sigh before pulling something from the messy pile on his desk. Kyuhyun’s eyes widened when he was handed a piece of paper, a photograph to be exact, his and Sungmin’s first wedding anniversary. They were seated together, hands entwined as the vast beauty of the ocean served as their backdrop. They when diving that time, Sungmin had insisted on it and Kyuhyun would never be able to deny his man. They were so happy back then, impossibly sweet and in love with one another that no one would be able to foresee the fate they had fallen upon.He tore his gaze off as soon as the memories came flashing back, stinging Kyuhyun’s eyes with an undeniable pain. He has to stop himself, he’s too tired to cry once more.“Kyuhyun you have to help yourself,” Heechul told him. “Seeing his face would help you… then, remembering your beautiful memories together. We would take this one by one.” Heechul’s voice was far from tender, but Kyuhyun sensed the concern it i. He forced his eyes to travel to the photo."Do not cry... Sungmin is cute, but he's a coward. Do not cry because you're stronger than him. If you cry I'll burn this photograph in front of you." When Kyuhyun had at least calmed down, Heechul tucked the photo back to an envelope. He eyed his patient and continued, “Now, I want you to tell me what happened here. I want every detail behind this photograph and I don’t want you to stop because if you do, I’ll burn every single memory you have with this man.”Kyuhyun nodded. The wind breezed through their faces as the boat continued to battle the vast sea. In a little while, they would be venturing the depths of the ocean, something they had always dreamed of doing… together.“Kyu, how could I even thank you for this?” He told him, their hands still latched together, with zero plans of letting go. “You took me to the vineyards of Austarlia earlier this year, and now… this. You don’t have to do so much for me.”“But I love making you happy, Min. I always want to see you smile.”As soon as the boat came to a halt, the diving instructor had relayed to them once again the do’s and don’ts. The couple listened attentively. When the lecture was over, they were aided as they set themselves up in full gear. But before the mask and mouthpiece was place, Sungmin suddenly asked: “Could I hold his hand on the whole diving trip?”The instructor was a bit apprenhensive and Kyuhyun knew he won’t be allowing it as it may make it difficult for them, as forst timers.“I want to hold his hand as we discover the beauty of the sea… it would make the adventure more worth it.”Kyuhyun smiled at his husband’s words and took his hands looking at the instructor for approval. And thankfully he did. For the two hours they were under the depths of the waters, for those one hundred twenty minutes they were exploring the beauty underneath the earth, they were together, hand in hand in a wonderful experience.Until they were settled back onto the boat, until they were safely back on shore, as they sat up on the beach that afternoon, their hands were entwined like a wordless promise of not letting go, of not leaving, of being together despite the vastness of the world. “I didn’t show any signs back then…” Kyuhyun spoke. His words were fleeting, but he was trying his best not to cry. He can’t cry over beautiful memories, they’re too beautiful to be grieved upon.“You don’t have to tell me that yet if you don’t want to. All I wanted to know is how life had gone with you and Sungmin before you…”“I really want to tell you, Heechul-ssi.” He answered. His words were void of any lies. He was speaking of what he truly wanted. “but I don
