Unexpected Visits (1/1)
Nothing much happened after that. We all walked out of the room, giving each other a pat on the back and saying,”Good job!” We were supposed to be notified in about 6 weeks if we got in or not. This was going to be a long six weeks, I can tell. As we reached the door leading to the waiting room, I looked back at Yixing. He smiled up at me, making me forget what exactly i was doing. The next thing I feel is pain. A friendly reminder: watch where you are walking. The floor isn’t very soft… “Kris! Are you okay?” Yixing asked, leaning down a hand.I took his hand and he pulled me up,” Yea, I’m fine. They don’t call be tough for nothing,” I told him.“Who calls you tough?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.“Uh...everybody,” I replied.“Everybody being your mother,” Yixing joked as he walked ahead,”See ya on tv Wu Yifan. I can’t wait until your debut.” He laughed, looking back at me before disappearing out the door. That was the last I heard from him...well for a few weeks.
It’s been three weeks. The longest three weeks of my life. What is worse is that I still have three more weeks until I get the email. Waiting is hard. I sighed and walked into my kitchen, grabbing the takeout box out of the fridge. I popped it in the microwave, walking to the living room while it was being heated. My apartment wasn’t very big. It was a simple one, having all the necessities. There was a small kitchen, which has a burner, sink, three cabinets, refrigerator, and extra storage under the sink. There was some nice counter space for my little appliances to stay, and everything worked. I had to buy a microwave and coffee machine of course, but that was it. I have a simple two person table in the middle of the room, that part becoming the dining space. For a living room, it was just a couch and small tv. Of course you have your standard bathroom, so not much to say about that. My bedroom is just a bed with my nightstand next to it. Super basic. I think I did pretty good picking an apartment. It isn’t easy finding one this nice in Shanghai. My life continues as normal for the most part. I still go work, a boring secretary type job. (It pays okay, so I can’t complain) I still hang out with my old friend, Henry. I still practice dancing, rapping, a little bit of singing each day. I still do everything I always do. I still eat takeout a lot (not my fault, I can’t cook), and I still go back there often. He still hasn’t showed. I still wait. I feel lost without it all. Henry says it’s stupid. He tells me to let it go. I laugh and tell him, only to have him call me stubborn once more. I am a lot of things, and I have done a lot of things. One thing I don’t do, is back off a challenge. I will go to the ends of the earth to prove someone wrong. Saying they all went flawless would definitely be a lie. Some go better than others. So yea, if that means that I am stubborn, then I guess I am stubborn. Once, a few years ago, someone dared me to attend wushu classes once. I put all my blood, sweat, and tears into that class. It was hard, like really hard. Am I wrong? I felt like I was going to snap in half! How do people have the stamina to do that? There was another time, a fellow rapper dared me to go up to five university girls and ask them their hand in marriage. Let’s just say I have a nice girl lined up if I slack off and don’t get married soon.
My thoughts are interrupted by the beeping of the microwave. I grab my chopsticks and retrieved my takeout leftovers. I sit at my tiny table and enjoy my meal in peace...until someone knocks on my door.I groan, pushing aside my meal and scooting back my chair. I stand up and make my over to the door, not rushing. I open the door to see who I least expect. I open the door to see Yixing.“Hey, sorry for coming here unannounced. Um I bumped into Henry and I guess he recognized me or something. He asked me if I was the famous Yixing his best friend wouldn’t stop talking about. He told me where you lived and so I thought I just would stop by and say hi and stuff,” Yixing rambled.I raised my hand, silencing him, “It’s okay. I wasn’t doing much anyway. Do you wanna go hang out or something? My apartment is not interesting...unless you wanna see my bed,” I joked.I guess Yixing innocent, or maybe just slow because the next that came out of his mouth was, “Why would I want to see your bed?”I shook my head, pushing him out of the doorway. I grabbed my phone and wallet before following. I grabbed his wrist and started walking towards the nearest coffee shop.“Let’s go, slowpoke.” A/n: Sorry for taking so long to update. I changed the way I did my writing (moved it all to a document) so it makes it easier to work on furture updates. This chapter has more words yay! I was originally going to end it when Yixing came the door but that would have made the chapter too short. I have also beenon vacation, so everything has just been slower in the making. I stayed up later starting/finishing this chapter because I needed it to go up so bad. Don't forget to comment your predictions and over all opinion on the story. I can take the criticism! There was a reference in this chapter to something. If you don't see it, go back to the part where Kris talks about the dares.
