Captivation (1/1)
I looked at him in horror at what I had done. Blood was dripping down from the two holes I had left in the side of his neck to his chest. I took a step back from him and he looked worried. He inched closer to me and I moved back. What have I done?!I-I’m a monster.I did this. I can hurt other people…W-what am I?! “It’s okay, you won’t hurt me and I won’t hurt you.” He said in his soft and gentle voice as if he could read my thoughts. “D-don’t come near me!” I said and I kept backing up. He held his hands out to me as he came closer and I turned to run but ran into the front door. I quickly opened it and ran out. I ran straight into a busy road with passerby's who stopped to watch me. Flustered and worried that I would harm other people, I turned and ran to my left. I had no idea where I was going and what I was going to do next, but all I knew is that I had to get away from people before I harm anyone else. “Annie! Annie-ah!” I heard someone yelling my name and I turned to see Sungmin jogging away from a group that was walking out of a building. I stopped in my tracks and ran towards him, running into his arms, tears streaming down my cheeks. “Sungmin-ah! You’re alive!” I yelled into his chest and hugged him tighter, shaking. “Annie-ah, are you okay?” He asked and I lifted my face to meet his gaze and then I realized something I didn’t when I first saw him. His eyes were golden like the man that I bit. I froze and he watched me with a worried look and placed his hands on my shoulders. “Annie. What happened? Are you okay?” He asked again and I pulled away from him, turning to run off again but I was pulled into someone else’s embrace; and then I could smell blood. I looked up to see the golden eyed man who I ran away from, with a relieved look on his face. He pulled away slightly and held my cheek in his hand. His appearance was sloppy: shirt unbuttoned, hair disheveled, and the blood that was dripping down his neck and chest now stained the white shirt that he tried to keep clean. This was my fault, but he didn’t seem to care what he looked like and only seemed focused on me. “Are you okay? I’m so glad I caught up to you. Are you hurt? Don’t be afraid. I’ll explain everything to you when we get back.” He said and caressed my cheek with his thumb. I started to relax when he did this, and he carefully pulled me to his side, arm wrapped around my shoulders. “I’m very sorry for this inconvenience.” He told a man, who seemed to be leading the group Sungmin was in. “She just had her first feeding and panicked.” He explained and the man nodded as if he understood. I glanced at Sungmin and he looked worried but also seemed to understand what was going on. He then turned to look at me and gently held my hand. “Annie-ah, don’t worry. Everything is going to be alright.” He said and then he let go of my hand and turned to the man next to me, shaking his hand. “She has been my good friend for many years. Please take good care of her.” He said and the man smiled. “Don’t worry. I will.” He said and rubbed my shoulder with his other hand. “Don’t worry Annie. I’ll see you soon. Okay?” Sungmin said with a smile and a wave before he turned to leave with his group. I watched him leave, wishing he could explain everything to me right here and right now without leaving me alone with this stranger. “Let’s go home
