Chapter 11~Kim Hyuna (1/2)
You had convinced CL to meet her at a club in the city. Then when Miryo came looking for you, you had promised her your next allowance in a bribe for Miryo to stay behind. The only thing to keep Miryo away from clubbing was a bribe of money. You don’t care, you wanted a night out. A night away from BYG. He was suffocating you.
You’d sprinted down the yard quickly and squeezed through the gate to the road. CL picked you up out front and you were off.You two make it to a club towards the outside of the city. Just a normal club, not too chaotic.You and CL manage to find some men willing to buy you drinks and you sit at the bar and talk.“He’s just doing his job, Hyuna.” CL explains.“And I hate it! I hate HIM. He’s ruining everything.” you complain.“Just give it time, I’m sure he’ll calm down eventually. He doesn’t know you guys yet. He has to be cautious. Your father can be a scary man, I’m sure Guk doesn’t want to get in trouble.”
“Hmph.” You shrug it off. CL is always right. She’s so smart.“What are you doing about the school dance this week?” CL asks.The school dance! How could you have forgotten? It wasn’t a huge party like prom but it was still fun to go.
“I honestly hadn’t thought about it.” You say.“You know it’s this Wednesday right?”“Yeah, I remember that now.” You answer blankly.“Well, DuJun asked me to go.” CL says shyly. “And… I said I would. Do you think JunHyung will ask you?”
“I don’t know.”
“I think he will.” She says quietly. “But girl,” she continues shyly, “I have another project in a different class due tomorrow. I think we should leave before it gets too late.”
“You go ahead. I want to see if I can get one more drink.”
“I don’t think you should. Just come with me. I’ll drive you home. Or we’ll stay for a few minutes longer and then leave.”
“No, no, no I’m fine. You go. I’ll take the bus home.” You urge.“Are…are you sure?”“Yes, I’m sure. I won’t stay long.”
“Okay.” CL seems worried but the project lingers over her head and she leaves.
You sigh and look around the club for another guy who would buy you a drink. But you want someone that you can get rid of fast enough. You don’t want to hang around and talk to any of these losers.
You manage to get another drink ordered for you. The bar tender claims that a “tall, handsome man has bought” your next drink and you look around to see who it could possibly be. No one jumps out at you. You finish the drink quickly and then get up to leave, keeping your promise to CL.You go out the front of the club.“Well, look who it is.” You hear an alto voice ring out in the night.You look up to see Hara and her little gang just going into the club.
“Didn’t expect to see YOU out here tonight. It’s a school night, you know.” She teases.“Hm, yeah well I’m heading home anyways.” You say going to leave. She steps in front of you.“I just wanted to tell you something.” She says as her big eyes lock onto yours. A smile easily takes over her lips and her eyebrows raise in mischief. “Me and JunHyung… we’re way over. So you don’t need to worry about anything.”
You stare at her, feeling anger rise up in the pit of your stomach. Your eyes narrow. “Well, thanks. Good to hear.” You mumble, walking past her again.“I don’t understand it though.” You hear her voice behind you and you stop. “I don’t understand what he sees in you. But, he must just want to increase his record. You’d be easy enough anyways. But don’t worry. I guess I could have been considered easy too for being with him like that.”
