Date (1/1)
A week went by, and I was walking home with Joon, after we ended our date.“Stop being delusional, Joon! It’s not good for your health!”We were walking side by side with me slightly on the lead, because he was being nuts.“I’m not delusional! Try to look at me once again, I bet you can see the similarities!”He stopped me from my tracks and turned me around to face him.“For the I-don’t-know-how-many-times-already, you do not look like the guy who played young Rain in Ninja Assassin, Joon!”I shoved his hand away, and gave him a friendly pat on his chest.“I do! Everybody says so!”“Who?!”“Everybody!” We were neck to neck, and he was never this serious before. His face was a shade of red, his eyes were alive, but he had a smile on his face that softened it all. It kind of turned me on, in a good way, I mean. I felt some kind of adrenalin rush, my heart was beating fast, and I was even standing on my toes, trying to match his height.“Well, if you think you look like young Rain, then I must have look like young Lee Hyori, Joon.”He smirked, and he looked at me up and down, up and down.“Wh-- What are you doing?”I crossed my arms over my chest, trying to cover, well, my chest.“Hate to break this, but you are nowhere near Hyori, Hani.”“What? Hey!”“... But, you are the greatest as Lee Hani.” My heart skipped a beat and the tingly feelings in my stomach made a comeback at that moment. He unwrapped my arms, and held my right hand tightly in his. He gave me an infectious smile, as it got me to smile along with him.“Let’s get you home, yeah?”“Yeah, let’s.”We started to walk again, my hand in his, slightly swayed, and we had the same shy smile on our faces.“But I do look like--”“Oh God, Joon! No you don’t! ”"Hahaha!" So, how was my date with Joon?It was lovely, of course.Okay, it was actually a bit too predictable, I would say, because he played too much by the rules. He came to my house with flowers in hand, and he then took me to the unofficial place for first dates: the theme park. We played, we laughed a lot, we had lunch at McDonald’s, and then we headed to the mall. We walked around after we bought tickets for a romantic comedy movie, we played a bit at the arcades, he bought me a hair pin that I was sure I told him he didn’t have to, and after we finished the movie and our dinner of hotdogs and coke, he walked me home. That was about it. Now, don’t get me wrong. I guessed I expected too much from him, but Joon was definitely the sweetest, and I felt like he was somewhat a dork once in a while. He treated me like a queen (because Jihye was his princess, after all) and he was a true gentleman. He held the flowers he bought for me all the time at the park and the mall, and when I went to the ladies, he offered to hold my bag. I could imagine how sweet he could have looked like waiting for me while holding my bag and my flowers. I bet the girls that saw him would be jealous of me and some would even scold their partners for not being courtesy enough like Joon. So I should be thankful for him, shouldn’t I? “Here we are.” He said.We had arrived in front of my house. He waited for me to unlock the door, and he handed me the flowers.“I had a very good time, Joon. Thank you for the flowers, the hair pin, and the meals. But I will be the one paying for the food next time, so don’t you dare to spend a penny on me!”“Haha! Okay, okay. Gender equalities, as you said, right? And does that mean, there will be a next time?”I just smiled at him, and that got him to smile back at me.“So... I guess...”“I’ll see you on Monday, at school, right Joon?”“Yeah, right.” We were standing at the door way, and I could feel the hesitancy coming from him, but I didn’t know for what. Did he felt reluctant to leave me?Did he have something else to say, but he was considering whether he should say it or not?Or was he trying to steal a kiss from me?What?!Scratch that last thought, Hani! “So, I should go back now, shouldn’t I? You must be tired, Hani.”I mentally smacked my dirty head.“Y-- Yeah. You must be tired too, Joon.”“I’m okay. So... good night, I guess?”He rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes were gleaming.“Good night, Joon. And be careful on your way home.”“I will.” He gave me a one final smile, and he turned his back from me. I watched him disappeared in the dark before I went in. I was about to close the door when I heard his voice again.“Hani, wait!”Eh? I thought he was gone?“Joon?”He was running towards me, and he stopped right in front of me, just to give me the tightest hug and a quick peck on my cheek.“Now I’ll go. Haha! Sweet dreams, Hani!”And he ran away. God, that was so unexpected! Warmth immediately crept into my face, and my heart again pumped out of my chest. I closed the door hurriedly with my hand on my chest, trying to calm my jumping heart.“I need a drink!” I opened the fridge to grab some water, only to see, right at the front on the second tray, was the one buck chocolate bar.
