Be a Human, Forever? (1/1)

A/N: okie dokie almost done with this story! but I just want to clear something up in this chapter Key teaches Jonghyun on how to tell a poisonous berry from a nonpoisonous berry. That is probably not the right information but, oh well just play along with it K???~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~That night, Jonghyun, Onew, and Changmin came back to the camp site. The other humans there came to greet them, even the leader but, Jonghyun didn’t say a word he took Key into his tent and placed the boy onto the bed. He then proceeded to undress the boy from the wet cold clothing and dressed him in Jonghyun’s pjs. He, also, changed out of his clothes and changed into something else. As he was about to leave the tent to get some food and water for Key he heard a tiny cough from the bed. Jonghyun turned around and saw that Key was pretty much sweating bullets. Jonghyun walked over to Key and felt his forehead ‘it’s not that high of a fever but, Ill get him some medicine and I’ll need to bandage his leg, too’ Jonghyun thought as he let his mate rest.   Onew and Changmin waited for Jonghyun to come out from the tent. Once the boy actually appeared from the tent he looked as if he was about to cry. “what’s wrong, Jonghyun? Your alright and so is Key everything will be fine.” Onew said trying to, once again, comfort his friend. Jonghyun looked at Onew, he knew that he was trying his hardest to comfort him but, his mind was all on Key. He couldn’t get that scared, weak face out of his mind. He still remembered the way Key touched his cheek, weakly, it was like Key was dieing right in front of him. “w-will you help me Onew? Changmin?” Jonghyun asked looking at his friends. Onew and Changmin looked at each other then back at Jonghyun and nodded. Jonghyun looked at Changmin “hyung, Key has a small fever could you bring some medicine.” Changmin nodded and ran off to get some special herbs to make some medicine. “Onew, Key also has a leg injury I need a bandage”  Onew nodded and went into his tent to find a bandage and other medical supplies for Key. Jonghyun went to the closest stream and collected some water in a bottle. He then picked out some fruit that were eatable to humans. Jonghyun chuckled when he remembered how Key taught him which ones were good to eat and which ones weren’t~Flashback~“Yah! What are you doing! Don’t eat that! You wanna die at a young age?!” Key yelled as he slapped a berry from Jonghyun’s hand. The older boy pouted. “but, Key I’m Hungry~” “your hungry? I’ll teach you. See the green stem on that berry this means that its ripe so it’s ok to eat but, if you take a look at the one you were about to swallow, the stem was brownish color which means it’s gone bad and you can’t eat it otherwise you’ll die. Plus, even the berry itself was discolored. Anyone in their right mind wouldn’t even touch it besides you, Dino” Key said sticking his tongue.~End of Flashback~Jonghyun sat down under the same bush that he was with Key that day “Key….please be ok….you’ll live right? Key….”  Later that night, Key started to stir under the covers. He slowly began to open his eyes, blinking a few times to get them to focus, he turned his head and saw Jonghyun sleeping next to him. Key smiled and kissed Jonghyun’s lips, softly so not to wake him but, Jonghyun’s eyes opened immediately, once he felt soft lips upon his own. He smiled at Key “you feeling alright?” he asked brushing his fingers along Key’s cheek. Key leaned into the touch and nodded. “Thank you hyun” Key leaned in and kissed Jonghyun who eagerly returned it sneaking his tongue into Key’s warm mouth. Once they separated, Jonghyun looked at Key and said “is there any possibility that you can be a human forever?” Key nuzzled into Jonghyun’s chest and mumbled “yeah there is”  “please, be a human for good and stay my mate.” Key smiled and nodded. “Ok…but I’m still a little weak so you’ll need to help me” Jonghyun lifted Key’s chin and kissed him again. “So what do we have to do?” Key sighed in Jonghyun’s embrace “go to the pond where we shared our first kiss. There is a tree that grows there wolves treasure that tree dearly. I’ll let the tree roots inside my body and my wolf mutation will disappear and my human form will remain.” Jonghyun didn’t like the sound of that “uh is it dangerous?” “no, it’s not life threatening, I promise. But, Jong~ we wont be mates anymore.” Jonghyun smirked. “can you sit up?” Key nodded and, with Jonghyun’s help, slowly sat up. Jonghyun dug in his bag for something. He took out a dark colored box. He then sat in front of Key and opened the box to reveal two beautiful golden bands with a diamond, along with their names engraved on it. “Jong?” “marry me, Key.” Key’s eyes widened. Tears started to flow down his face freely as he nodded “yes” Jonghyun smiled he put one of the rings on Keys ring finger and the other on his own finger. He kissed Key, who kissed back lovingly. “now we are literally mates for life”
