Savior (1/1)
Key was getting weaker, and he had to admit, Changmin wasn’t light as a feather. The leader of the pack was slowly clawing up the side of the cliff. Key kept a look out of the corner of his eye. Changmin was starting to tire he has been trying to pull himself up with the help of Key who was panting tiredly trying to pull his brother to safety. “Key let go….It’s ok, really…….your going to get killed if you don’t get out of here…..I’ll be ok” Changmin spoke. Below them, was a very fast moving river, if either one of them fell in it would rush them to the waterfall just up ahead, which would mean their death. “Key, lower your self down a bit.” “eh?” “Just do it” Key grabbed a stone that was within reach and lowered himself. Changmin, then, used all of his strength to lift himself up using his brother’s arm and hand as leverage. He gripped onto the edge of the cliff and began to pull himself back “good, now lean back up” Key did as instructed and slowly used his hand that was behind the stone and pushed back on it to lean back which gave Changmin enough room to pull himself back onto the cliff. Both boys panted with exhaustion. The leader saw that they completely dropped their guard and he decided that now is the time to attack. He pulled himself back onto the cliff and ran towards Key getting ready to pounce. Changmin noticed this but, was to weak to help so all he could do was get Key’s attention by yelling “Key!” The younger boy turned only to be pounced on by the leader. Key was too weak to put up a fight so he turned into a wolf and trying to push the leader off of him. The leader, though, was showing no mercy. He was ready to go for the kill when an arrow was shot. It missed the leader by a centimeter but, Key knew very well, who the arrow belonged to, it was meant to be a warning shot. “Jonghyun” Key mumbled weakly. The leader scanned the area around him. Key took this chance and pushed the leader off of him. Getting up on his acing paws his fur stood on end, fangs piercing out of his mouth. “oh~ threating” The leader said as he pounced onto Key again but, Key was faster; he turned around and kicked the leader off the cliff but, some how the leader got a hold of Key’s back leg and they both fell off. The leader to his death on the river bank and Key fell into the actual river getting swept away quickly by the fast moving rapids. Once Jonghyun saw Key fall into the river, he through his bow on the ground along with his arrows and ran along the river bank to catch up to him. Key, on the other hand, was desperately trying to swim to shore but, those attempts were futile. However, when he saw Jonghyun trying to catch up to him along side the river bank. Key immediately called out to him “Jonghyun!” When Key fell into the river, Changmin was about to jump in after him but, when he saw Jonghyun running after him he sighed from relief. He then turned to see Onew who came up to him “WHATS WRONG WITH YOU! I TOLD YOU I’D FIGHT ALONG SIDE YOU! WHY DID YOU LEAVE-“ Changmin turned into a human and kissed Onew who sighed into the kiss and returned it eagerly. Jonghyun saw the waterfall up ahead ‘damn if I don’t get Key out fast he wont stand a chance.’ Key’s cry filled voice brought him out from his thoughts “Jonghyun!” He saw a ledge that would pretty much get him to Key. He ran off the ledge and jumped into the fast moving river. Once he surfaced he tried to locate his mate. When he heard the weak “Jonghyun~” from behind him he let the current, and his swimming, take him to his mate. Key was getting too tired. He couldn’t stay on the surface for long. As soon as he saw his mate in the water looking for him he weakly shouted “Jonghyun~” which was all he needed to get Jonghyun to turn around and swim towards him but, he couldn’t do it anymore he made one last attempt to get to Jonghyun before his eyes subconsciously closed and he went underwater. Jonghyun dived in underwater to retrieve Key. When they resurfaced, Key was too weak so he slung his arm around Jonghyun’s shoulder as Jonghyun was clutching the boy’s side. He desperately tried to get himself and Key out of the water before they reached the waterfall. He saw a log that was stuck into the ground he grabbed the log and tried to pull himself and Key up onto the log. He, finally, managed to get on shore. He laid Key down on the shore. Looking at the unconscious boy moving some stray hair from his closed eyes “Key….wake up! Come on baby. Wake up. Key!” Jonghyun cradled the boy in his arms as he shed his first tears but, they stopped when he heard a strangled “Jong~ I-I’m ok, Jong.” Key slowly opened his eyes and looked at Jonghyun. He slowly raised his hand and brushed some, dripping, wet hair from his mate’s eyes. Jonghyun held onto Key’s hand leaning into the touch. “Jong~ I’m so tired” Key breathed weakly. Jonghyun nodded as more tears poured out from his eyes he hugged Key tightly. He slightly sighed as he felt Key’s arms slowly wrap around him, returning the hug. “Rest baby, you’ve done enough ok?” Jonghyun mumbled into Key’s ear. He felt the younger boy nod before his eyes closed and he drifted to sleep. “Jonghyun! Key! Where are you!?” Onew yelled as they traveled along the river bank hoping that Key and Jonghyun managed to get out of the water in time. Onew looked at Changmin who was trying to hide his tears but, nothing was helping him hide his sadness. Onew hugged his lover tightly “they’re ok. I’m sure they are.” Onew said comforting the other who nodded. They continued walking alongside the river bank trying to find either of the boys. When Onew saw something move in the distance he abruptly stopped and waited. The figures that came out from the distance was a soaked Jonghyun with an equally soaked, and unconscious, Key. Onew ran up to the soaking boy who was caring Key, bridal style. “are you alright?” Onew asked looking at his friend. He then changed his attention to the boy in his arms “is Key alright?” Jonghyun looked at the sleeping boy and said “he’ll live”
