Yoona, the Matchmaker (1/1)
RIIIING! Yoona looked at the alarm clock as it rang loudly. She hit the large off button and went under the covers. Seunghyun had just woken up next to her as he gently patted her to wake up. Yoona took the covers off her body and nodded groggily. Yoona was so sleepy. She sat up and yawned as she rubbed her eyes with both hands. Seunghyun looked at her and stared for a while. She looked beautiful even when she woke up. “Why are you so sleepy?” Seunghyun asked. “I spent all night talking to Jiyoung. Your brother kept on thanking me over and over again for helping him out with Sandara. Those two look so cute together. I bet they’re going to get married in a year or two. Well, that talk was pretty long! Hm, I’m so tired,” Yoona stated. Seunghyun saw her face and saw her exhaustion. She was yawning as she rubbed her eyes to remove the droopy look on her face. He shook his head as he began to lecture. “You know it’s bad for the baby to lack sleep? I should set a bedtime for you!” Seunghyun joked. Yoona crossed her arms and looked at him with disappointment. He was acting like her brother. That was the last thing that she wanted from Seunghyun. She pouted as Seunghyun threw both of his hands up in the air in defeat. “Hey, I was only kidding, so I’m sorry. I’m your husband, not your brother,” Seunghyun apologized. “Yeah, that’s what I thought,” Yoona crossed her arms, “Hm, I don’t know what to do today. My doctor told me that the appointment today was cancelled because she’s going out of town.” Seunghyun looked at her stomach. It hasn’t grown very much but he knew that there was a human growing inside of her. She put her hand over her stomach and laughed a little to herself. “I really don’t know what to do when my stomach starts to show its bumps. I’m going to have to change my entire wardrobe,” Yoona claimed. “By the way, do you still have an ultrasound picture from the first time you got checked up? I haven’t seen it yet,” Seunghyun said. Yoona looked at him with disbelief. He finally asked about their baby! Yoona couldn’t hide her excitement of Seunghyun’s inevitable signs that he was starting to care about the baby. Yoona stood up from the bed with glee in her face as she started to rummage in a drawer. She pulled out a picture with victory as she walked back to the bed and looked up and Seunghyun. She handed him the picture as he looked at the picture with amazement. She started to giggle to see the smile on his face. “I don’t know if it’s a girl or boy yet, but my doctor told me that I could find out the baby’s gender in as early as three months because of the upgrades of technology in ultrasounds. I’m going to be two months in one week and I’m excited!” Yoona clapped. “Isn’t this picture too big to be an embryo that’s only three weeks old?” Seunghyun became critical. “That ultrasound picture isn’t from my first one. My first ultrasound picture is in my wallet. That one is from last week,” Yoona looked down. Seunghyun felt like a jerk. Last week was the day that he blew her off to be on a date with Hara. She went to get her ultrasound with Jessica and he felt stupid for leaving her for Hara. He should have been there for the baby and he knew it. He was just so in love with Hara that he couldn’t resist her, but he knew that the rightful and humane thing to do was to assist Yoona with her ultrasound of their baby. “When is your next doctor’s appointment?” he sighed. “It’s going to be tomorrow since today’s is cancelled,” Yoona informed him. “I’m going to go with you tomorrow,” he assured her. “Let’s not make promises that we’re not sure we’re going to keep!” Yoona teased. “Hey, I’ll go this time!” Seunghyun guaranteed. Yoona looked at him skepticism. She wasn’t sure if he was serious or not. He looked kind of guilty for leaving Yoona on her doctor’s appointment last week. Yoona stared down at him as he started to feel uncomfortable. She took a deep breath as put on her house slippers. She stood up from the bed and took clothes from the closet and carried it to the bathroom. Before she entered the bathroom and locked it, she turned around. “I know that if Hara calls you up, you’re going to leave me again. Let’s not make promises, okay?” she said, “Now let’s get ready. We’re going to have brunch with your family and Taeyang.” Seunghyun kept quiet. He knew that she was going to hold that against him forever, but he began to wonder if he actually would blow Yoona off again to be with Hara. The last time he was with Hara, he collapsed from exhaustion. He watched her go into the bathroom and shut the door. He heard the lock click. The whole family was at a restaurant waiting for Taeyang to arrive. He was only about five minutes late, and he didn’t leave them waiting for long. He entered the restaurant with a giant smile on his face. In the table were: Yoona, Seunghyun, Yuri, Jiyoung, and Sandara. There was only one seat available and it was next to Yuri. Yuri blushed lightly as he sat down next to her. She hid her face behind the large menu. Taeyang’s grin faded away as he saw a waitress approach them. He joined Yuri in trying to hide behind the large menu. The waitress’ eyes widened as she put her hands on her hips as she grabbed Taeyang’s menu. “Hey, it’s you Taeyang! You’re that one man that I met in the other restaurant I worked in! I got fired from that place, but no one needs to know!” she laughed, “So which one is your girlfriend or were you lying to me a few months ago that you had a girlfriend so that you could get out of a possible date with me?” Taeyang became a little nervous. He couldn’t say that Yoona was his girlfriend since she was married to his best friend. He also couldn’t say that his girlfriend was Sandara because he knew Jiyoung would kill him. He knew that Yuri would be uncomfortable if he claimed that Yuri was his girlfriend. He was in defeat. He sighed in agony at himself. “Actually, Yuri is his girlfriend!” Yoona butted in. Seunghyun was drinking some water and as soon as he heard those words escape from Yoona’s mouth, he began to choke. He saw the waitress frown as she took the orders. Taeyang and Yuri were blushing ferociously as they both shifted nervously in their seats. Yoona couldn’t help but laugh at their behavior. The waitress left after taking their orders with disappointment. “Aw, you two look like you’re shy of each other!” Yoona teased. “Yoona, they’re not in love! He’s like my brother and she’s my sister. That’ll be awfully weird,” Seunghyun interjected. Yoona crossed her arms, “I think they would look cute as a couple.” Seunghyun shrugged a bit as he never thought of them two as a couple. He looked at Yoona who looked like she was pretty much serious about it. Taeyang and Yuri were just quiet throughout the whole discussion. All they could hear was Yoona stating that Taeyang and Yuri would look good together, Seunghyun’s statements of disagreement, and Jiyoung and Sandara’s laughter. Yoona slammed her hand against the table which made everyone shut up. “Taeyang, do you find Yuri as an intriguing, interesting, and attractive woman?” Yoona asked as if she was in control. “Yes!” Taeyang answered quickly. “Yuri, do you find Taeyang as a handsome and well rounded individual?” Yoona asked Yuri. “Yes!” Yuri answered. “That settles it. You two are going on a date tonight. It’s only going to be the two of you,” Yoona smiled. Seunghyun stood up from his chair as both Yuri and Taeyang nodded their heads in agreement. Yoona pulled him back down as the food arrived with the waitress. They ate their brunch with laughter and smiles. Yoona was ecstatic that Yuri and Taeyang were smiling and laughing together. After the meal, Jiyoung and Sandara decided to leave to spend a day together. Yoona then requested that Seunghyun and she should leave so that she can give Taeyang alone time with Yuri. “I’m not leaving,” Seunghyun crossed his arms. Yoona rolled her eyes as she pulled on his ear as Seunghyun began to complain and finally agreed. Yoona saw Yuri mouth the words ‘thank you’ as Yoona dragged Seunghyun out of the restaurant. Yoona smiled and waved at the both of them as she saw that the two had started a conversation. Yoona led Seunghyun to an outdoor shopping center. It was a bazaar that was widely known for selling clothes and objects that were cheap but were of good quality. “What are we doing in a bazaar?” Seunghyun questioned. “Silly, this is where I shop when I get tired of Chanel, Vera Wang, and those other designer brands. I use the brands when I’m going to a public event, but when I just want to chill and hang out, I buy regular jeans and shirts,” Yoona laughed. “Hm that’s odd. Most women obsess over having the newest thing in Chanel, Prada, or whatever you women wear,” Seunghyun pondered. Yoona ran up to a vendor that was selling scarves. Seunghyun grew a great amount of admiration for her. She wasn’t materialistic and she enjoyed things that commoners would be excited about. She looked as if she didn’t care that she wasn’t acting like an heiress to one of the top companies in the world. Seunghyun was interrupted by his thoughts as he felt his phone vibrate in his pants pocket. He took out his phone and saw that it was a call from Goo Hara. He caught himself rolling his eyes, which was a surprise to him. He looked at Yoona as she called out to him to join her. He looked back at his phone that displayed Hara’s name on the screen. “Sorry, Hara, but not today,” he whispered to himself as he pressed the red button and turned off his phone. Seunghyun jogged over to Yoona who was smiling brightly. She saw him turn off his phone and she couldn’t be happier that he was finally making time for her. Seunghyun had to admit that he enjoyed the whole day. He went shopping with Yoona, he went sightseeing with her, and they both started to snack on cakes and desserts that some vendors were selling. Yoona couldn’t help but smile throughout their day together. Yoona was sitting on a bench next to Seunghyun as she grabbed some of the cotton candy that Seunghyun was eating. She giggled as she put it in her mouth as it gently melted away. Yoona then looked down as she frowned to herself. Seunghyun sensed her discontentment. “What’s wrong now?” he asked. “I just miss someone,” Yoona stated. Seunghyun sighed. He automatically concluded it was Siwon. “It’s Siwon, isn’t it?” he interrogated with disapproval in his face. “Nope, it’s not Siwon. I should rephrase that. I don’t miss someone; I miss some people,” Yoona corrected herself. Seunghyun then nodded with approval. He just didn’t want Siwon on Yoona’s mind at all. “Who do you miss?” Seunghyun asked. “I miss my family. I miss Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Heechul, and Taeyeon,” Yoona said. Seunghyun fully understood her. At one time, he was in a business trip and he had to admit that he missed Daesung, Jiyoung, Seungri, and Yuri while he was gone for one month. He looked at her and saw that she was serious about it. He stood up and offered his hand to her. “Come on, let’s go visit your family,” Seunghyun announced. Yoona happily grinned as she took his hand while he led her to a cab that was waiting nearby the market for an incoming passenger. Yoona began to wonder what had suddenly got into him. She was pretty sure that the last person he wanted to see was Leeteuk, but he still insisted on visiting just because she missed her family. Within a few minutes, Yoona and Seunghyun reached the Park family’s mansion. Yoona pulled Seunghyun’s hand into the premises as she giggled. She was so excited. They made their ways through the green lawn as Yoona continued to pull his hand. They finally made it into the main entrance as Yoona rang the doorbell. Seunghyun was pretty much nervous about the whole visit. He didn’t know what had gotten into him. He refused to meet Hara’s family, but here he was meeting Yoona’s family formally. Eunhyuk finally answered the door as Yoona jumped up and hugged him with excitement. Eunhyuk was of course shocked by her sudden appearance was even more surprised to see that Seunghyun was by her side. Yoona smiled brightly as she walked in the door with Seunghyun. “Yoona, I don’t think right now is a good time for a visit!” Eunhyuk claimed. It was too late for Yoona and Seunghyun. Yoona’s eyes grew wide to see that Siwon was seated in the couch of their living room. It seemed as if he was having a talk with Leeteuk and Yoona knew it was either about Seunghyun or Yoona. Leeteuk stood up and hugged Yoona tightly. He looked up at Seunghyun was offered his hand out for a handshake. Leeteuk looked reluctant but he shook his hand. He remembered when Yoona warned him to be nice to her husband or else she would ignore him. Siwon was at the couch looking uncomfortable. “You know I think that we’re just going to head out and go back to his place,” Yoona bowed. “No, don’t go! I haven’t seen you in a while, and we all miss you,” Leeteuk insisted. Siwon then stood up and gave Yoona a hug. Yoona could sense the awkwardness that Seunghyun felt as Siwon hugged her. She tried laughing it off but it really didn’t make a difference. “Uhm, what are you doing here?” Yoona asked. “I’m discussing our wedding plans after you get your divorce with Seunghyun,” Siwon straightforwardly confessed with a smug smile. Seunghyun was laying down in bed as he thought the whole thing over. After Siwon’s statement, Seunghyun bowed to everybody and left the mansion. Of course Yoona followed him, but they didn’t speak one word on the way home. Yoona was in the kitchen eating a snack. Seunghyun knew that she was there because she wanted to avoid the weird situation she was in. Seunghyun began to ponder why Yoona had already made plans on what she was going to do after the divorce. He began to wonder if she really thought of him as a bad husband. Of course he wasn’t the perfect husband, but he still had adapting to do. He just wasn’t used to anything involving the marriage with Yoona, but he was trying to make an effort. He heard footsteps lightly tapping the wooden floor to the hallway. Seunghyun knew that it was Yoona. He quickly turned off the light and went under the covers before she could even open the door. He closed his eyes and pretended to sleep. To make himself convincible, he even began to fake snore. Yoona opened the door and saw a big lump under the blanket. She sighed as she walked into the dark room and laid down next to his long body. Yoona could see nothing in the dark, but she didn’t care. She just needed to talk to him about everything. She didn’t fully believe that he was sleeping. Yoona could hear his ‘snoring’ as she moved closer to him on the bed. It was dark, so Yoona couldn’t see Seunghyun’s eyes widen with shock. She took off the blanket over his body halfway so it was only up to his waist. He continued on with his fake snoring. Yoona put one of her arms around him in which he reacted to by ‘snoring’ even louder. Seunghyun could hear her silent giggles as she finally spoke up. “Seunghyun, are you awake?” Yoona whispered. Seunghyun fake snored even louder. Yoona rolled her eyes. It was so obvious that he was pretending to sleep to dodge the talk that she wanted to have. Desperate times called for desperate measures. Yoona unwrapped her arm around him and used both arms to support herself to sit up. She sighed then reached up to him and kissed him on the lips. “I’m not going to take my lips off yours until you talk to me,” Yoona murmured as her lips were still attached to his while she said those words. Seunghyun was just shocked about Yoona’s sudden actions. He just laid down on the bed frozen with shock. Part of him told him to talk already so Yoona could stop kissing him because it wasn’t rightful since he was really with Goo Hara, but the majority of him just wanted to lay stiff and let Yoona kiss him there in the bed. Her lips were just so soft and he didn’t know what to do. He finally noticed that this was the first time that Yoona had ever kissed him in his whole entire life. He was of course blissful but he didn’t want to take advantage of her. He knew that since he enjoyed her kiss, he would want it to lead to other things. He decided to talk. “You can stop kissing me!” he said loudly. Yoona finally stopped kissing him. She was astonished to know that the kiss had lasted for more than fifteen seconds. As soon as Yoona pulled away from Seunghyun’s lips, Seunghyun had an urge to pull her back and kiss her himself, but he knew he couldn’t. He didn’t want Yoona to feel uncomfortable with him. Yoona finally began to speak about the whole situation. “Look, I know that you don’t want to talk to me because of what Siwon said,” Yoona stated. “Yeah, I kind of don’t, so let’s just go to sleep,” Seunghyun answered as he put the covers back over his body. Yoona removed the covers, “I want to talk to you about it, though!” “Fine, what did you want to say?” Seunghyun sighed. “First of all, I want to say thank you for respecting my family. I was so happy that you bowed to them and offered a handshake! I bet our baby is happy too that you’re getting along with his or her uncle. I also wanted to say that Siwon is just acting psychotically jealous and wants to get on your nerves,” Yoona said. “Hm, is that so?” Seunghyun asked skeptically. “Yes,” Yoona nodded. “So, you two never discussed anything about marriage after our divorce together?” Seunghyun clarified. “Well…,” Yoona shifted uncomfortably. “Yoona, that’s so wrong! That’s why I’m angry! You make me sound like a bad husband but I’m doing my best to be good to you! I’m doing my best to adjust quickly as the great Yoona’s husband, but you’re already making plans for life after me!” Seunghyun erupted angrily. Yoona knew that it wasn’t right that Siwon told him that they had plans to get married right after the one year time period. Seunghyun sat up and sat on the side of the bed. He looked down as he rested his forehead on the palm of his hands. Yoona sat up quickly as she approached an angry Seunghyun. She felt his back towards her as she hugged her tightly from the back. Seunghyun to admit it but his anger was disappearing with every second she was hugging him. “Listen to me. Siwon asked me to marry him after the divorce, but I haven’t given him an answer. That’s why I was shocked to see him in my house talking about marriage when I haven’t even said yes or no yet. If I did have a plan to marry him right after this marriage, I would have told you already. Technically, I’m not his girlfriend because I’m your wife. Just don’t be angry with me,” Yoona whispered into his ear. All of Seunghyun’s anger had disappeared. Her voice soothed him and he finally felt at ease. He closed his eyes as he began to think about it. She did sound reasonable and she did look sincere. He could feel himself becoming closer and closer to Yoona throughout the times they had been together. Seunghyun kind of felt stupid for being heated with her. “I’m sorry that I’m acting like such a fool. It’s just that everything is so new to me and well, I feel like you’re an important woman in my life now,” Seunghyun confessed. “Uh huh, I bet all men say that to their baby’s mommy,” Yoona laughed as she released him from the hug and laid down on the bed. Seunghyun soon laid down on the bed right after her. He just needed to tell her that she really was special to him. He admitted to himself a long time ago that if she wasn’t Leeteuk’s sister, he would have probably dated her a long time ago. She was beautiful, charming, and polite. Unlike a lot of women, she was actually real and natural. Seunghyun kind of cringed at the fact that Leeteuk shared fifty percent of his DNA with her since they were siblings. It was hard to believe that he actually got along with the little sister of his enemy. It was hard to believe that they had kissed more than once. It was hard to believe that he was even married to his rival’s sister. Her words kept on echoing in his mind. “I bet all men say that to their baby’s mommy.” He knew it wasn’t true. He knew pregnant girls from high school that wasn’t special to their baby’s fathers. Yoona just didn’t know that she was slowly becoming an important person in his life. He hated to admit it but it was just true. He knew that Yoona was still awake as he began to think about everything. He then began to wonder what she was thinking. Did she think of him as a good man? Was he special to her? Was he even important to her? Seunghyun had to admit to himself that he was starting to fall for her. He was falling out of love with Goo Hara and was falling in love with Yoona. He sighed to himself. He told himself that this wasn’t going to happen. Taeyang even told him himself that Seunghyun was going to fall for her hard. He hated that it was becoming true. He needed to tell her about his feelings for her. He wanted to tell her that he there was a possibility that he would want to extend the one year. “Yoona, I want to—,” Seunghyun said. Yuri burst into the door jumping around happily as she did a dance. Yoona could see her through the hallway light that shone through the open door as Yoona sat up quickly. Yoona stood up as Seunghyun was dumbfounded at Yuri’s sudden ecstatic behavior. “What happened?” Yoona asked. “The date went well! I just got home from the date and it was wonderful! We went to the park and then we ate dinner! We talked so much and he even walked me home! Yoona, this is all thanks to you! Thank you so much! I love you, sis! Taeyang even asked me for a second date together next week!” Yuri sang. “AHHHHHHH!” Yoona and Yuri shouted together as they held each other’s hands and jumped up and down in excitement. Seunghyun sighed loudly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A/N: Sorry for late update!
