Discovering my dream. (1/2)
I was bumming around the house, sitting on chair to chair, finding something I could fix and move. I was so bored staying home all day, even when I tried to find something productive or fun to do, I'd be to either to bad at it or not interested enough and give up instantly. Myungsoo came home about 8pm that night, I was slumping on the bed, flicking through the channels for about an hour now. He walked and and sighed, loosening his tie.
"Oh, you're home early. Why haven't you changed out of your peformance clothes yet?" I watched as he moved into the bathroom coming out a few minutes later after having wash his face and changing his clothes.
"Manager hyung told us to take the rest of the night off, I've been peforming non-stop since 9.00, I'm so exhausted." He fell onto the bed leaning his head onto my lap, spreading his arms out wide.
"What have you been doing all day?"
"Eh, bumming around the house, cleaning, cooking the usual."
"Sounds fun." He said sarcatically.
"Myungsoo, I'm being serious." I bent my head over grabbing his head with my hands, looking at him in the face.
"I'm so bored at home, I have nothing to do when you're gone!"
"Go find a hobby then, or go shopping or something."
"Ya, Kim Myungsoo, I'm not one of those shoppa-holic girls who love to shop non-stop, okay? Besides, I've got plenty of clothes to last me for a while now. My hobby is cooking...I'm just not good at it." I pouted and shut my eyes tight, feeling more useless then ever. I felt him laughing as he pulled my face down to kiss me lightly on the lips, I felt his smile as our lips touched, causing my heart to flutter.
"There must be something you're good at it, everyone has something special about them, everyone."
"Not me." I said sighing. "But you on the other hand, you're good at singing, dancing, cooking and playing guitar. You're good at everything. Not to mention your face, that's good too."
Myungsoo let out a loud laugh and pulled me back down to sit on the bed besides him.
"Do you want me to help you practice cooking?" My face beamed as soon as those words left his mouth. This would be my chance to improve me skills. Myungsoo was great when it came to cooking, he could easily drop his singing career now and be a sucessful chef, easily. I envied him for that, having so many skills whilst I had nothing.
"YES PLEASE!" I chimed.
"Okay, let's go then, shall we?" He stood up and grabbed my wrist, leading me down the stairs and into the kitchen.
He opened up the cook book and started at the main course section. We tried about 3 different recipes, all failing miserably.
"You're not doing it right, you have to chop it like this." Myungsoo pulled the knife out of my hand and showed me the propper way to slice an onion. I nodded saddly as I watched his perfect hands melt along the knife. He had natural talent when it came to this sort of thing, it was so obvious just by the way he'd hold a knife, or stir a sauce.
"Okay now you try." Myungsoo handed me the knife, hoping I'd pick it up and try again, instead and I sighed and pushed his hand away.
"There's no use, I can't do it, I just don't have the talent." I said continuing to sigh.
"Don't say that, here, here, let's try to bake a cake, maybe you'll be good at baking."
I never really thought about baking, the thought of burning or ruining something sweet scared me, it felt like such a waste, everytime I'd ruin a perfect good recipe, ruining something sweet just scared me senseless. But I was so thankful that Myungsoo refused to give up.
"Er, I don't know..." I hesitantly stepped away from him, trying to avoid another huge disaster.
