Chapter 2 (1/1)
The next morning six boys met up before the school day started. “Come on guys!” “Calm down Kai, the auditorium isn’t going anywhere, and getting there sooner doesn’t mean they will make the announcement any sooner.” “But I want to know!” “And you will, at the same time as the rest of us.” “Ugh! How are none of you curious about what they want to announce?” “Easy, the odds that it will affect us in any way are so low that there is no reason to be so anxious about it. And even if it does pertain to us I doubt it will be anything super important or life changing.” “Sehun’s right, they hardly ever announce anything that really affects us, so there’s no reason to get so worked up about it.” “But Kyungsoo—“ “Okay, okay, fine, let’s go to the auditorium.” Hearing this a wide grin broke out onto Kai’s face, causing the others to roll their eyes in annoyance. “Alright! Let’s go go go!” “Idiot.” The others chuckled at Baekhyun’s comment, except for the subject, who hadn’t heard it and was too preoccupied with making his way to the auditorium to have cared even if he had. Entering the large auditorium, the lights already half dimmed and the seats as pristine as ever, they saw that there were already several groups of students gathered in the front rows, waiting for the announcement to begin. “Come on guys, I want to get a good seat!” Sighing once again, the group just followed behind him, not caring enough to argue. They eventually all sat down in the third row, sinking into the cushioned seats while waiting for the assembly to begin. After about fifteen minutes the auditorium was full, and the first bell rang, signaling the official start to the school day. As the lights fully dimmed down, leaving the students in darkness, the lights on the stage turned on, revealing a lone microphone in the center of the large, shiny stage. “It’s starting!” The others, while not as excited as Kai, turned their full attention to the stage, slightly curious despite their reluctance to admit it. Within the next minute a short, slightly pudgy man stepped out onto the stage, making his way towards the microphone, his balding head shining under the bright lights. Once he reached the microphone he tapped it three times to make sure it was functioning properly before speaking, his baritone voice echoing throughout the hall. “Thank you all for gathering here. I will try to make this quick to avoid any disruption to your classes. Starting next week students from another high school will be attending classes here for an undetermined amount of time. This is because there are some construction projects that will be happening that cannot wait until the summer as they pose a risk to the students within the school. Therefore, I hope you will bear with us in the coming weeks and try to make the students from Abdicio High School feel welcome. Like I said this will be starting next week, so be prepared for the extra students that will be present, not only in the halls, but also within the classes. Thank you for your understanding, you can return to your usual classrooms when the bell rings.” This being said, he left the stage, the lights on the stage turning off, and the lights throughout the rest of the auditorium lightening up again. Immediately students turned to their friends, discussing the shocking news that was just delivered to them. However, there was a group of six boys, sitting in the middle of the third row, who remained in a stunned silence lasting for several minutes before being broken by the one boy who was overly excited at the start of the day. “Well, that was not what I was expecting, but I’m thinking that that may affect us.” At the end of his statement he turned towards the rest of the group, a smug look on his face. “I must have heard him incorrectly. There is no way the students of Abdicio High School are going to be attending classes at this school, right?” Chanyeol sounded almost desperate while posing the question that received no answer. “They must be crazy if they think that this will end well!” “Whoa, this is the most worked up I’ve ever seen Suho-hyung.” “How are you not freaking out right now Sehun? Are you not surprised?” “Well, my dearest Baekhyun, unlike you all, I have simply chosen not to care. I can’t do anything about it anyways, so panicking is pointless. I mean, sure I was surprised to hear that they will be attending classes here for who knows how long, but like I said, there’s nothing I can do about it.” Before the others could respond, the bell rang, signaling the beginning of classes for the day. Deciding to drop the subject for the time being, they all rose and, after waiting for a few minutes as the students in front of them filed out of the room, made their way to their usual classroom, preparing themselves for the classes to come.
