The vampire.A child of the night realm, a creature born from death to rain fear on the living...a hunter that terrorizes its prey before extracting its soul through its blood...A monster... I frowned at my reflection in the water. That was exactly what I was, what I had become: an undead beast cursed to roam the earth, stalked by an eternally raging thirst to which water could not quench. I glanced over at the deer whose life I had taken in my rush of hunger and shuddered. The sight was revolting, but even though I had drunk my fill, the scarlet blood pooling around it still aroused my tastebuds. What a waste...I found myself crawling towards it and stopped my body before I got too close. Was that what it was like for him, too? Was he the monster and I, the deer? A hunter and its prey...Kim Myungsoo...I slapped the water aside, not wanting to see it anymore. The water rippled and my face vanished from the surface of the creek. Whoever said that vampires had no reflection was an incompetent bastard... The sunlight didn't bother me either, as I wasn't a pile of dust. Humans and our imaginations...their imaginations... I wondered how many of the so-called "myths" about vampires were actually true.Dewdrops clinging onto a spiderweb woven on a distant tree, tiny patterns speckled on an egg sitting high in its nest, a ladybug slowly crawling up a leaf of a far off bush... All of these were now open for my eyes to ravish. The slighest movement, and my gaze was captured. This would definitely come in handy...The slight snap of a branch from above caught my attention and all my focus shifted to my now extremely sensitive ears. Squirrels bickering, birds calling, even the scurrying of insects on the forest floor... The noises all jumbled up in my head, giving me a headache. This, on the other hand, would need some getting used to...The birds' calls grew louder and louder, soon to be joined by many more until their voices were practically screaming in my head. I picked up a rock from beside the creek, ready to throw it at them. Gripping it in my fist, I took aim and let out a cry of surprise when it crumbled in my grasp. Surprised, I looked at my hand and slowly uncurled my fingers; tiny bits of rock and sand drifted from my palm, sinking slowly into the clear water like fairy dust.______________________________Hey guys!
