Chapter 4 (1/1)

Chapter Song >> The Fountain"Are you still mad at me..?" Jungkook keeps his eyes on the road, totally ignoring Soojung. His grip on the steering wheel becomes tighter and he grits his teeth, answering Soojung's question in a whole different way. "Baby," the girl places her hand carefully on his bicep, wanting to draw reaction, any kind of reaction, from her boyfriend. Jungkook has gotten it all wrong. She never meant no harm, really. Seeing him act so cold, so emotionless towards her makes her feel sad, depressed, because she loves him. She just wanted to know what kind of past existed between the two males. They both seemed so happy to see each other, especially her boyfriend. And the way Ji Hyun dragged her to the kitchen made her suspicious. She was just wondering if Kim Taehyung was some sort of ex. Spotting the colorful balloons, outside the adress Taehyung texted him, Jungkook parks the car at the first empty parking space he spots. He immediately turns off the engine and turns his torso to open the door. "Are you seriously going to act so childish?" Soojung half shouts. Jungkook rolls his eyes, turning to face his girlfriend, "I already told you I didn't mean it that way and that I'm sorry," her voice cracks midway, her eyes watering, "What else am I supposed to do?" Jungkook sighs because she said she was sorry. Maybe.. he overreacted a bit as well. "You have to understand my situation too, though," he finally says, taking her hand in his, interlacing their fingers, "I don't want you to think that I wanna date or simply fuck with every guy I know because I told you that I once were homosexual." he explaines softly, leaning towads her to peck her cheek. "That's definitely not what I think." she sniffles and wipes her tears away from her cheek, reminding Jungkook of a five year old that doesn't get to have her way. "Good, because for me there's only you," he chuckles, using his own hand to wipe away her tears carefully, "Now don't cry, you're ruining your beautiful make up." "It's your fault, you idiot," Jungkook laughs and leans in to claim her lips in a loving kiss. She responds right away, wrapping her arms sort of desperately around his neck.  But why does Jungkook feel the sudden urge to pull away? "L-let's go." he breathes out against her lips, having a weird feeling of suffocation. ~~ "Hwayoung-ah! Come here, quickly!" Taehyung calls his niece excitedly, a grin he is completely unable to wipe off, plastered on his face. Jungkook actually came. Taehyung can't even think of a way to express how thankful he is. He wants to wrap his arms around the younger and kiss him repeatedly for being so nice to him despite their bumpy past. But that is definitely not their main aim at that moment. Hwayoung tears her attention from the game she is playing with her friends to look at her uncle and smiles. "I'll be right back. Don't cheat!" she glares at her friends before running away to the house. She jumps in Taehyung's arms and hugs him tightly, giggling as he begins teasing her sides, tickling her. The house inside is filled with parents, mostly of her friends, and a few relatives here and there. The house belongs to her grandparents, her mother's parents. That's where she has been living ever since her own parents died. They are rich. The Seo family is well known in South Korea. Mr. Seo is a politician, while Mrs. Seo is a doctor. Well, they were, before retiring "What kind of surprise are you talking about, oppa?" she asks, playing with the piercings on Taehyung's ear. Even if Taehyung is her uncle, he forbade her to call him that because it makes him feel.. Old. A thing he certainly isn't. "You'll see." he answers her question, feeling proud of himself for being able to fulfill his niece's wish. He bursts into laughter when Hwayoung starts touching his labret piercing, causing him to make weird faces. She really loves his piercings. Upon entering the living room, Taehyung puts the girl down, kneeling beside her, "There." he says, pointing at a couple talking to her grandparents. Hwayoung narrows her eyes. She hasn't seen them before. Or maybe, maybe she has seen them before, she can't tell by just looking at their backs. Turning her attention to the woman, her memory begins playing tricks on her. It can't be her. It is impossible. That brown hair, that delicate back and those long arms. Has Taehyung found a way to bring them back? It just can't be. "Mom..?" she whispers under her breath. Taehyung's face loses its color instatly. Hwayoung breaks free from his embrace and runs to the woman. "Mom!" she repeats cheerfully, a grin spreading across her lips. She wraps her arms as tight as she can around the woman's legs, her heart beating impossibly fast. But as the woman looks down at her, completely startled, the smile disappears. That woman isn't her mom. Her gaze travels to the man beside the brunette woman and she recognizes him as Jungkook oppa, but she can't bring herself to care much. How could she actually believe that her parents could come back? She takes
