Chapter 3 (1/1)
Chapter Song >> And The Snakes Start To Sing "Do you remember my brother Taesun, Jungkook?" Jungkook thinks back for a few seconds, "Taesun.." he wonders out loud, cupping his chin with his thumb and index finger, "Oh, yeah. He's your oldest brother, right? The one married to Hwani?" he asks earning a sad hum from Taehyung, "Hey, don't they have a daughter? Hwayoung! How's she? How old is she now?" "Wow, okay, I see you still talk too much," Taehyung laughs, gazing out of the window. A fake smile that is soon replaced by a genuine, thoughtful frown. "We'll get to Hwayoung. But there's something else you need to know first." he informs. Turning around to look at Jungkook, he swallows the lump in his throat before it gets uncontrollable. "My brother is dead." Jungkook's jaw drops yet no sound comes out. Did he really hear correctly? "Oh my God, Taehyung I'm so sorry." he finds himself unable to form a better sentence than that, being genuinely shocked. He met Taesun once, he was a nice guy. He is simply unable to believe that he is actually gone. Most importantly he can't even imagine how hard it must have been for Taehyung. Taehyung sits back to the couch again and crosses his arms on his chest, his eyes searching for that window once more. "It was a car crash. His wife was also in the car. And my dad as well. They're gone too." Taehyung isn't the type of man to cry. Maybe it is the faux andrenaline he's feeling that moment because of Jungkook being beside him or maybe because he is forced to recount some of the most painful experiences in his life. He makes sure that Jungkook isn't able to see him and wipes away any tears that have possibly escaped. "He fought for nearly two months while in coma. My father and Hwani died instantaneously." he takes a few breaths to calm himself down and turns to face Jungkook. He can't stop himself from staring boldly for a few seconds. He isn't going to lie to himself anymore. Seeing Jungkook, his beloved Jungkookie, after five lonely and painful years makes him feel as if he has found paradise. 'I'm sorry,' he wants to say. He wants to get up, grab Jungkook by the shoulders and kiss him until they are both gasping for air. Just like they did everytime they were mad at each other, five years ago. He wants to hold him in his arms and make sweet love to him, remind him who he truly belongs to. To him, to Taehyung. Jungkook belongs to Taehyung and nobody can argue that. What has happened to their forever? Everything has changed. From the moment he heard Soojung call him 'babe' to the way Jungkook looked at her so adoringly, everything screams at him that Jungkook is not his anymore. "Taehyung.. Are you okay?" Jungkook asks carefully, knowing so very well that Taehyung is unpredictable when he is frustrated or at this case, sad. The tenderness in his voice awakes something inside Taehyung. Nothing is over, actually. Taehyung is determined. Jungkook is his and he will show everyone. "Yeah, I'm okay," he smiles softly, "You're probably wondering why I'm telling you about Taesun." he cocks an eyebrow, returning to his usual, proffesional self. "Quite frankly, I kind of am." Jungkook laughs awkwardly, scratching his nape. He takes a good look of Taehyung and tries to hide his smile because Taehyung is right in front of him and he wants to scream. "Hwayoung's birthday is in two days and she has been asking for one and only present for three whole years now." Taehyung explains, loving the way Jungkook's eyebrows furrow in confusion. "And what would that present be?" "You." Jungkook's jaw
