the list: the one where y (1/1)

Now being able to freely be with each other without hiding from their friends or literal from almost everyone, Yujin and Minju are now at ease and are much happier now. But they have to admit, that period of their relationship was kinda fun for them as well.   After days, weeks, and months of training, the soccer team's most awaited final match for this season has finally come. The team was way fired up for this last match, determined to keep the title. They asked to come to school early for their early morning stretches, that's why Yujin and Minju still hasn't seen each other.  When Minju arrived at school, she went to the auditorium for rehearsals. When the cast was given a break, Minju sat net to Sakura, silently resting her head.  "So, you're going to watch the game later?" the older asked but then gasped slightly, "Oh my, pardon me, what am I even thinking? Of course you'll go. Yujin's playing after all." However, Minju just sighed, "I'm not sure unnie. I mean, I want to, but rehearsals are still on-going by the time the game starts." "Oh? No, I told Lia that rehearsals are..." Sakura stopped when she realized what was happening, "Oh that's right, I forgot to tell her. My bad." She stood up and went to the stage, grabbing the mic and clearing throat. "Everyone, rehearsals will be cut short today. As a way of showing support to our school's football team, we will be watching their final game this season." The rest cheered as they gather around in their own little groups. Sakura goes back to her seat next to Minju where Lia comes up to her. "Let me guess, you forgot?" "Yeah, finals is taking a toll on me." "That's okay, unnie. You'll do well on your finals." "I really hope so. But enough of that, let's get back to practice. I reckon 30 minutes is done?" "Yes." the vice president agrees and turns to Ryujin, "From the top?" The director nodded and clapped, getting everyone's attention. "Let's go from the top everyone!" - "Team, I want you to know that win or lose, I am proud of each and every single one of you." "Coach, don't you think it's a bit too early to be emotional?" Yena teased. "Aish." Seulgi jokingly acted like she was gonna throw the clipboard towards Yena's direction making ducky quickly hide behind Hyewon. "Anyways, why don't we give our team captain a chance to say a few words? To inspire the team more." Yeji quickly shook her head, "Oh Coach, I'd rather not." "Come on, Cap! This is the last game this season, and the last game for the seniors on the team as well, we want to hear a long emotional speech. Right, everyone?" The rest of the team agreed and kept chanting the word speech, leaving Yeji no choice but to do it. The baseball team's captain of 4 years started giving her speech with the rest cheering her own. "And lastly, I want to say sorry to you guys. I know, I've been too busy lately preparing for the spring musical, and I haven't been leading you all properly lately. For that, I'm sorry. And, I also want to thank Yujin. Thank you for leading the team when I wasn't able to do so. Someday, I'm sure you'll make the perfect team captain. Who knows, it might come sooner than you think." Yujin smiled at their captain's words. "I hope so. And I'll make sure to be a good captain to everyone." "That's enough cheesiness for today, let's go win that game!" "Let's!" They prepared theirselves as the announcer announced that the game will be starting soon.  "Hey, nervous?" Hyewon came up to her and placed an arm around her best friend's shoulders. "A bit. I should be asking you. Are you nervous? It is your last game after all before you graduate." "Yeah, I'm hella nervous. But when I think about it, I just want to enjoy the moment. Besides, I'm happy to be playing my last game with my best friend." "Awe, you sound so emotional." the younger teased. "We'll still play soccer together right? With the other 3?" "Of course! Me, Chaewon and Yena still need to beat you and Chaeyeon after all." they both chuckled lightly and went out of the locker room, seeing their team gathered up. They went to gather up with the rest, Coach Kang giving them last minute instructions for the big game. Yujin was just listening to Coach Kang and as she was about to finish, Yujin felt a nudge on her shoulders and saw Yena pointing at the crowd. She followed where Yena pointed and saw Minju sitting at the top bench, her eyes wandering around the field. Minju's sight landed on hers and that's when she started waving at Yujin, smiling at her. Yujin mirrored what Minju did and smiled widely as well. Chaewon watched this and scoffed. "How whipped." she commented. Yujin snarled but when she faced Minju again, Wonyoung was already beside her. To get back at Chaewon, she nudged the older girl and pointed at where they were sitting. "Looks like Wonyoungie's here. Good luck, Chaewon-ah, you wouldn't want to embarrass yourself in front of your crush now do you?" "Wha- Crush?! Ya! Kid! You're nuts." the younger shrugged and started doing her warm-up stretches.​​​​​  As the game was announced to be started, they did one last team cheer before going into the field with full of focus and determination. - When the game came into it's critical point where the score on both team's are neck and neck, the pressure continues to arise. With the ball being on their team, specifically saying, Chaewon has it. Chaewon looked around her teammates, looking for the perfect person to score the winning goal. When her gaze landed on Yujin, she nodded towards the younger girl and kicked the ball towards her direction. Yujin successfully got it, swiftly avoiding the opponents coming in her way and made her way towards the goal. She spared a glance at the time and saw that there's only 10 seconds left. Just a bit more. 10 9 8 7 6 5 The Captain from the opposing side came to her direction and tried stealing it but Yujin was quick enough to dodge her move, running towards the goal. 4 3 2 With one last huff, she kicked the ball towards their goal, successfully scoring their team's winning goal. 1 She stayed rooted on her place as she watched how the ball hit the net, not even realizing that her teammates are now surrounding her, chanting cheers. "Yoo Yujin! Yoo Yujin! Yoo Yujin! Yoo Yujin!" they chanted. "We won? Yujin asked, oblivious and lost. "We won!" Yena exclaimed. "We won?!" she asked again to which her friends answered with a nod while laughing at her. "Holy cow we won!" They then again started roaring in cheers, carrying Yujin up in the air as they celebrate their winning goal. "And there you have it folks. In the end, 4G University was able to hold on to their title and became this season's soccer champions. Of course, the winning goal is scored by none other than 4th time mvp, Yoo Yujin!" The whole team were gathered as they were given their awards. The opposing team also went to congratulate them, thanking them for a very successful and friendly match. Yeji as the team captain, accepted the trophy and handed it to Yujin. "Here, thank you for scoring that winning goal for us. You deserve this." "Nonsense, it was a team effort. We all helped in scoring that winning goal. We all deserve it." she gave a smile towards their teammates. Yeji smiled, "I knew you'd say something like that." she then faced Coach Kang who was watching them with a proud a smile. "Coach, I'm sure of it. I'm sure she'll do great." Yujin, as well as the rest of the team looked at the two with a confusing look. "Since today is my last game as you team captain, I would like to introduce you to your new one. Everyone, your new team captain, Yoo Yujin." the now former team captain smiled towards the younger's direction. "M-Me? For r-real?" "Yes, Yujin. You deserve it. Congratulations, Captain." Coach Kang smiled widely as she pins the legendary 'team captain' badge on Yujin's shirt. "Wait this is real? Like, you guys aren't pranking me or anything right?" "You got the badge right? Well then everything's real. Congratulations, Captain." Yeji congratulated her this time with the rest of the team following after. When they were done changing and taking a bath, that's when Yujin friends started attacking her with tickles. "Congratulations Captain!" the four of them tackled her and ruffled her hair, making the younger groan. "Guys, you're gonna get my hair all messed up." "Awe look at that, Cap's complaining about her hair." Yena teased making the others laugh, Yujin just glaring at her. "So, after party at our place, I already asked permission." Hyewon informed. "They agreed?" "Yeah. They're on a business trip anyway." They all got their bags and head out of the locker room. "Come, I already informed everyone about it. We should go now to start the party early." While the four of them already started walking away, Yujin stopped on her tracks and glanced at the field.  "Hey guys." her friends turned to look at her, "I'll catch up, I just need to do something before I go." "Yeah, sure. And don't be late!" Hyewon reminded before they started walking off again. Yujin made her way to the field and placed her bag on the side, getting a ball and started kicking goals. Everyone seemingly left already anyways, for sure no one would mind. She kept kicking goals to sorta clear her mind off a bit. Today's been rather eventful for her. First of all, they're team won, and second, she was announced as the new team captain. Yujin's overwhelmed by it. But to be honest, the pressure is slowly starting to kick in. She doesn't know, or rather, she's not sure if she can handle leading the team well. She's nervous about it, and it's kinda making her feel anxious. So with the pile of emotions she's feeling, she continues to kick as many goals as she can in her most frustrated state. She only got to calm down when a soothing voice started talking, catching her attention. "Hey, why are you here kicking goals instead of celebrating?" "Min? Why are you still here? I thought everyone had left already." "Well yeah I was about to. But I came across unnie and the others earlier and you weren't there, she told me you had to do something first. I didn't know you were gonna be doing this." "Just...trying to ease my nerves." "Why? What's wrong? What happened?" she asked as she cupped Yujin's face, looking at her directly in the eyes. "I got appointed as the new team captain." "What?! That's great news!" "Yeah, it is." she sighed. "What's wrong? Aren't you happy? This is supposed to be a good thing right?" "It is. I'm just- I feel pressured about it. It's team captain, you know? It's such a huge thing." "You'll do well, Yudings. You're an amazing leader. You lead perfectly, and I'm certain you'll do good." Yujin looked at her as she sat on the grass, "How sure are you that I will?" "I'm 100% sure you will." she smiled and sat beside her. "And I'll be with you when do so. I'll always be here beside you." "You will?" Minju nodded. "You promise not to leave?" "I promise." Minju held her hands and draw circles on the back of it. "You know? You're the best, have I told you that?" The latter pinched the bridge of her nose, "Yes, a couple of times already." "Well then I'll just keep saying it again and again then." Minju stood up and grabbed the ball.  "What are you doing?" "You know, I have a sister who plays soccer but I've never really played a game myself. I wanted to at least try." "Oh, do you want a challenge, Miss Chou?" Yujin stood up and smirked. "Don't think too little of me, Ahn, I've watched Hyewon unnie's moves, I got the hang of this." "You're on then." They started playing a one on one friendly match with each other, laughing out loud.  Yujin got the ball and started teasing Minju, getting it farther away from her everytime the latter tries to get it. "Ya!" "What? I thought you could handle a challenge." Yujin teased. Minju glared at her and thought of a way to distract Yujin. "Yudings, I'm sad. Can you give me the ball please?" Minju called out quickly, applying aegyo which she knows will work perfectly. And it did, because Yujin stopped on her tracks while Minju was able to get the ball, kicking it to victory. Now she's making fun of Yujin. "H-Hey that's unfair. You can't use your aegyo on me." "But I just did. You lose!" Yujin sighed. "Sucks to be you right now." Minju kept doing little happy dances around the field to celebrate her victory, and it made Yujin laugh. "You're so cute. I love you." she said so suddenly that made Minju stop. "What?" Yujin's eyes widened upon realizing what she had just said. "Wha- Nothing. I said nothing." "No, you said something. I heard it." "I didn't!" "You did, you said you love me." Minju's smile grew wide. "You love me." "Nuh-uh." Yujin pouted like a child. "You love me. You love me. You love me." Minju kept repeating. "Make it stop." the taller was covering her ears in attempt to stop Minju's teasing. "Yoo Yujin loves me." She cried out for helped and Minju just smiled at her. "It's okay, I love you too." "Am I going crazy right now, or did you just say you love me too?" The latter shrugged teasingly. "Hm. I don't know."  Yujin followed Minju around as she was walking in the field. "Wait, so you just said you love me, what does that mean? Are you-" "Yes." she answered smiling. "Yes?" "Yes, Yoo Yujin. My answers yes." "But I haven't asked yet." she whined out loud making Minju giggle. "Whatever your question is, my answer to that will be yes." "Really?" Minju nodded again. "Then if that's the case. Chou Minju, will you marry me?" she got down on bended knee and took the ring she was wearing, holding it in front for Minju to see. Minju visibly blushed and scoffed, "You're crazy." "Wait, wait, hey." the taller chased her as she was getting away. "Be serious for once!" "Alright, alright, I'm sorry." she chuckled and stopped in front of her. "Chou Minju, will you be my girlfriend?" she asked cutely. Minju smiled widely at her and, "No." walked away. "What? No? I thought you said your answer will always be yes? Where's that now huh?" "Well that was before you started joking around." she answered and gave her an eye roll. "When did I ever start joking around?" now Yujin's really whining like a 5 year old child. "You asked me to marry you, dumbo." "But I wasn't kidding!" Minju sent another death glare. "Fine. I swear this time, I'll be serious." Yujin took a deep breath, "Chou Minju, would you please be my girlfriend?" "No." "Still a no? I'm starting to think you don't want me." Yujin says with a frown. Minju took the ball from the ground and stared at it for a bit before handing it to Yujin. "Here." "What am I supposed to do with this?" "You told me you wanted to score your goal, right? So here, sore your goal." "And what happens if I do?" "If you do, then I'll give you my answer."​​​​​​Feeling all anxious and nervous, Yujin took the ball, placing it on the ground before staring at the net, breathing in. "Here it goes." She did her most favorite move and scored her goal. Finally, Yujin scored her goal. And what's that goal? To make Minju say yes to her. "Well, I did it. I scored my goal, Minju." Minju smiled and went near her, "Yes, you did." "So what's your answer?" "Yes." "Yes? Like, you're my girlfriend now? For real?" Yujin asked continuously with Minju nodded along to her. In extreme happiness, she carried Minju up in the air, making the latter squeal. "I love you, do you know that?" "Well now I do." Yujin placed a bried kiss on Minju's lips before carrying her across the field, running around. "Get me down, I'm heavy." Minju complained and tapped Yujin's shoulder. Yujin eventually got tired running around while carrying Minju and she flopped down the ground, panting. Minju followed, lying down on Yujin's shoulder. This feels nice. Everything feels nice.  Again, I'm sorry for the errors. Sorry as well if this chapter took too long to publish.
