the list: the one where t (1/1)
Their ride on the way to the venue was filled with chatters, mostly coming from the two best friends of course. Minju, on the other hand, just stayed silent while looking out at the window. "Okay! We're here!" Yujin exclaimed and only then that Minju realizes that the car has already stopped. She got outside first, not even looking back at the other two that she left behind. "Geez. Does she really hate me that much?" Yujin unconsciously ask herself out loud. Hyewon pats her back, "Unfortunately, she does" "I just can't seem to figure out why" "Well for starters, you are a tad bit annoying" Yujin gasp, "Hey! You're annoying too you know" "I'm aware of that. But I'm also her sister so she can't really do anything about it now can she" Hyewon said with a smirk. "Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let's just go there already" "You go first, I need to wait for Eunbi outside" Yujin snickered, "Of course you do. I'll see you inside then" The moment she steps inside the venue, she immediately spot her parents and made her way towards them. Minutes passed and the venue was now filled with people. She also spot her parents' other best friends and went over to greet them. Soon enough the program was already starting and so they all sat down in their respective chairs. Yujin was sitting with Hyewon and Eunbi, while Minju was sitting at the table beside them together with her friends.
The event was going well. The couple celebrating their 20th anniversary is now roaming around the venue, communicating with their guests and catching up with a few of their friends.
It was now finally timee to eat. While most people are already getting their own meal, Yujin decided to just get it later. But that is not until she saw Minju on her wat to get her meal. And so she stands up, and follows Minju.
"Hey there, Ms. Chou" she greeted with a nice big grin, making the latter roll her eyes. They reached the buffet table witH Minju still ignoring Yujin. And Yujin being Yujin, she won't even stop calling for Minju's attention. The latter grew tired (mostly annoyed) and finally payed attention to the giant pup.
"WHAT?!" she turned to Yujin, obviously annoyed.
"Nothing hehe" Minju scoffed and started getting food and placing it on her plate. Yujin quickly did the same thing, still catching up to Minju.
"I just wanted to ask when we could start practice? As you may already know I'm quite a busy person so I'll have to check my schedule first"
"Aren't we all busy?" the latter said and faced the other girl, "But to answer your question, I'm only free every Fridays and Saturdays since I need to practice for my audition" "Oh, I see your twinkle town is doing another show" Yujin laughs it off. Minu just rolls her eyes. "I'm only free every Saturdays, but if you're willing to wait late every Fridays then we can practice after my training finishes" "Sure, yeah, fine by me" Minju said and shortly left and went back to their table after grabbing dessert. "Aight, that was a short conversation." Progress, Yujin. We're making progress. She also went back to their table and started eating her food. From time to time, she would steal glances from the table across theirs. Needless to say, we all know who she's staring at. Yujin was trying to be subtle, really. But unfortunately, Hyewon was too observant and so therefore noticed how the taller girl is subtly stealing glances from her sister. "Trying to be subtle, aren't we Ms. Yoo?" Hyewon asked out of the blue, making Yujin shocked. "Huh? What are you talking about?" "You're too obvious, Yujin-ah. Aigoo." Hyewon stood up together with Eunbi and slowly made their way to the dance floor but not before turning to Yujin first. "Yujin-ah, we'll just go there for a while. Are you going to be okay here by yourself?" Eunbi asked her. "Sure thing unnie. Don't worry about me and enjoy yourselves out there!" the couple left and proceeded to the dance floor while Yujin was there, sitting and observing the venue and all. "Ladies and gentlemen, may we please request everyone to join the very lovely couple on this dance floor as they dance to celebrate their 20 years of love." Slowly, the guests filled the dance floor and Yujin's eyes were still wandering around the venue. She spotted her parents on the dance floor happily dancing next to the couple celebrating their 20th anniversary. Big bummer. Who am I supposed to dance with? She noticed her Mother walking near her which made her question if there was anything wrong. "Mother? Is something wrong?" "Yujin, why aren't you dancing? Come on now, have fun." Jeongyeon said as she sat down beside her daughter. "I'd rather stay here, dancing is not my thing really. Besides, who am I supposed to dance with?" Jeongyeon then points towards the table across theirs and Minju can be seen looking at the dance floor with a smile. "Go dance with her, Yujin." "Is that a suggestion or an order?" "Depends on how you'll take it." her Mother gave her one last smile before going back to the dance floor. Yujin took a deep breath before finally walking towards Minju's table. "Hey" she greeted the smaller girl the moment she reached their table. Minju raised her head and saw Yujin standing there. Annoyed at the sight, Minju rolled her eyes. "What now?" "Look, I didn't come here to argue with you okay." the taller answered calmly and sat on the vacant seat beside Minju. "Then what did you come here for?" she asked, brows raised while waiting for the taller one to answer. "I..came here to ask you if you maybe wanted to...dance? With me?" Hearing no answer from the other girl, Yujin immediately had in mind that maybe the girl didn't want to. And she didn't want to force Minju. So, she stood up, and fixed her outfit. "Well I understand if you don't want to. It's just, I think our parents would want us to dance with each other since they've been staring at us for quite some time now. You must really hate the idea of dancing with me. But no biggie really, I won't force you-" Yujin was cut off with her words when Minju stood up and pulled her to the dance floor. One word to describe Yujin's reaction, shocked. Very shocked. They were now in the middle of the dance floor and the song started to change in an even slower one. You're in my armsAnd all the world is goneThe music playing onFor only two "You blabber too much." Minju said, stopping the smile from showing. Slowly, the shorter one took Yujin's hands and placed them on her waist while she loops her arms around Yujin. So close togetherAnd when I'm with you "I-I- W-Why?" Yujin asked in utter shock. "Why what?" "Why are you dancing with me right now? I thought you didn't want to?" So close to feeling alive "Correction you thought that. Why? Do you not like it? Should we stop now?" A life goes byRomantic dreams must dieSo I bid mine goodbyeAnd never knewSo close was waiting, waiting here with you "Yes! I mean no! I mean- Ahhh" Yujin said frustratingly, making Minju laugh. And now forever I know...All that I want is to hold you so close "I am right, you talk too much" Yujin pouted and shrugged. So close to reaching that famous happy end They both relaxed in each other's presence as the song reaches it's chorus. Almost believing this one's not pretendAnd now you're beside me, and look how far we've come They both unconsciously held each other closer, getting way too lost in the feels. The room was dimly lit, yet the way bot of their eyes stared at each other was enough for them not to get lost in the corners of this dance floor. So far, we are so close The song almost reached it's end and almost everyone in the dance floor moved in sync. Oh how could I face the faceless daysIf I should lose you now? We're so close to reaching that famous happy endAlmost believing this one's not pretend Slowly, the couples on the dance floor left one by one and only a few people were left. Yujin and Minju being included with those who are still in the dance floor. Let's go on dreaming, though we know we areSo close, so close, and still so far When the song ended, everybody gave a round of applause to the main couple at the center of the dance floor. Minju has now come to her senses at slowly loosen her arms that were wrapped around Yujin's. She went back to their table after seeing her friends there, leaving Yujin alone. So close, and still so far.
