CHAPTER 4 - D-Day (1/1)

"Luhan, would you please quit talking to your boyfriend on your phone during office hours?" Luhan scoffed at his boss before he started talking on his phone again. "Babyyyy, my boss is being a meanie again. I will talk to you later, okay? I wuv you, Sehunnie." Luhan said with matching kissy faces. Luhan then faced his boss and told him sternly, "You need to get laid, Chanyeol." "Fuck Luhan just because I cut off your phone privileges, which you are abusing by the way, doesn't mean you can talk to me that way. I am still your boss you know?" "..." "..." "Like I said, you need to get laid."

"So about that date..."  The first time Kyungsoo opened up about the animal sanctuary date, Chanyeol almost passed out. Chanyeol was in a meeting that time but he could definitely feel his phone vibrating in his pants' pocket. He was being respectful to the members of the board so the CEO ignored it. After the meeting, he immediately checked his phone and actually almost dropped it when he saw an unknown number. An unknown number which he knows by heart. He was excited. But he was more scared he would show his true colors and be the freak he really is. But he has Baekhyun. Chanyeol felt a percent higher chance he'd finally get Kyungsoo. Because he has Agent B. "Chanyeol are you listening to me?" His reminiscing almost made him forget that the love of his life is currently standing in front of him. In his company. At his couch. Which is in his own office. And it's just the two of them. Alone.  And how did Chanyeol manage to make this happen? Well it pays to be Byun Baekhyun's client. "Of course, of course," Chanyeol showed off his million dollar goofy looking smile. "So about the date..." Kyungsoo thinned his lips, "I thought you said you were listening." Kyungsoo said along with a pout at the end.  Fuck he looks so cute. Now say something cheesy. Cmon Chanyeol. "Sorry I got distracted at how squishy you look." Nailed it. "Are you saying I am fat, Chanyeol?" What? What?! "No. No. No! Kyungsoo no! I didn't mean it that way!" Chanyeol was petrified. Of all things to describe this perfect human being standing before you, you choose squishy. What the fuck. Swallow me now, land. "No Kyungsoo!! That meant you look-" He stopped when Kyungsoo bursted into a fit of laughter. Is Kyungsoo bipolar? One moment he looks like he's going to kill me. And then now he's laughing like the world is ending tomorrow. Chanyeol thought to himself. "Chanyeol I am kidding," Kyungsoo breathed in between his laughs. "I know it means I am cute." At that, Kyungsoo smiled. And Chanyeol can breathe again. "So as I was saying," Kyungsoo continued after being able to control his laughter. "I think it'd be nice to pass by the groceries first. So we can buy food for the animals in the sanctuary. And then we can make food for ourselves too." "Kinda like a picnic?" Chanyeol didn't know how he looked like right now. But he was sure Kyungsoo would run off anytime soon because of his maniac-slash-pedo looking smile. "Yeah, something like that."  "Yeah... sure. That'd be nice, Soo." You fucking had to agree. Like you can cook, Chanyeol. Oh well he has Baekhyun.

And that was how Chanyeol found himself in the groceries with no other than... Byun Baekhyun.  After a few words on how stupid he was for agreeing on the picnic date with Kyungsoo when in fact he couldn't cook, Baekhyun finally decided to let Chanyeol off the hook and just help the pathetic case out because after all, that was his job. "Aww Chanyeol, you haven't even started dating and Kyungsoo already bailed out on you." "What are you saying?! No! Some fucking guy showed up at the cafe and asked for a last minute rush order of blueberry cheesecake," Chanyeol began flailing his arms in an effort to explain to his midget companion the situation. "As head baker, his reason is perfectly acceptable. He didn't bail!" "Whatever you say, Mr. Park." Baekhyun responded with the evilest of the evilest smirk planted on his face. "So," Baekhyun continued. "As for your date, I already set up with The Agency which sanctuary you'd go to." "Which one is it then?" "The Kim's Dog House. I thought it'd be nice to only get you guys in a dog shelter because you'd probably shit yourself when you see tigers in there." "Oh so now you consider my emotions?" "Yes well even though it's fun to tease you, you're still my client," Baekhyun responded as he strutted his way to the pet section of the grocery store. "So how many cans of dog food do you think we should buy?" "Uhm I don't know about you but I don't really know much about dogs." Of course Chanyeol would be a pain in the ass. Even with just figuring out the number of cans of dog food they should buy. "Well why don't you go ask Kyungsoo?" "Are you fucking insane?! So what I should be like 'Hey Kyungsoo, i dont know about you but I dont know much about dogs so how many cans of food do you think I should buy'?!" "No you idiot," Baekhyun said as he flicked Chanyeol's forehead. "Just go dial his number before I decide to leave you here." Well, Chanyeol didn't want to be left alone and look pathetic in front of his date later so he followed the midget agent instead. He actually knows Baekhyun knew what he was doing. He didn't really know why but Chanyeol decided he'd purposely make Baekhyun's job a lot harder for him. "It's ringing now what the fuck do I-" "Well put it on loudspeaker so I can help you," And then Chanyeol told what he was asked of. "Tell him your usual dog food preference is not available and ask him if he personally suggests anything." "That sounds stupid, Baek. He'll definitely see right through-" Chanyeol quickly stopped rambling when the other line picked up. "Chanyeol? What's up?" "AH! Hello. Yes, Kyungsoo. Uhm the usual brand of dog food I buy for the dogs in the shelter is not available today. Are there brands you prefer?" Fuck fuck fuck please be dumb and believe the lie. "Oh is that so? I remember my friend who has a dog as well buys Alpo. Is that available, Chanyeol?" He fell for it! Fuck Chanyeol couldn't believe it. "Uhhh hold on I will go check," Chanyeol covered his phone with his hand so as not to let Kyungsoo hear his conversation with Baekhyun. "What now?!" Right at that time, Baekhyun noticed there are only a few cans of Alpo left. And Agent B knew exactly what to do. "Tell him there are only 5 cans left and ask him if that's alright or if we should go look for another brand." "Uhhh hey Kyungsoo, Alpo only has 5 cans left here. Is that enough? Or should I go look for other brands?" "5 cans hmmm? We should probably need around 10 if we are to feed all the dogs in the shelter," Bingo. Baekhyun thought. "What are the other brands available, Chanyeol?" "Tell him you got it figured out and that you will just see each other later." Baekhyun whispered as quietly as he can. "Hey Soo, I think I got it figured out. Uhh I'll just uhm see you later, okay?" After a few exchanges of goodbyes and see you laters, Chanyeol finally put down his phone and placed it in his pocket. "I don't get it. What do we do now?" Is this giant really a CEO? Baekhyun was so sure Chanyeol had brain the size of a pea. Or if there was anything smaller than a pea for a more appropriate comparison. "Are you for real right now? He just said. Flat out. That you guys need 10 cans." "Did he?!" What am I gonna do with you? Baekhyun thought as he rubbed his temples. "Oh what did you decide to do to Twinkle, by the way?" Baekhyun attempted to divert the pea brain's attention because damn he could only take so much idiocy. "Oh after your little Twinkle decided to ruin my entire apartment," Baekhyun cringed at what seemed like a sexual innuendo to him. But didn't mention it to Chanyeol when he heard the giant continue. "I decided I should keep him on lock down." "Okay," At those words, Baekhyun became worried that Chanyeol probably stowed Twinkle away in one of his empty cupboards or something and then left the poor dog there. "So what exactly did you do to him?" "Oh I bought him a cage don't worry," Chanyeol said to reassure Baekhyun. "He's in my patio." And Baekhyun hoped to God 'patio' isn't code for that empty cupboard he was thinking of.

Chanyeol drove back to his apartment after picking up their groceries. They bought the 10 cans, plus 2, of dog food under another brand Chanyeol would never know because he didn't really pay attention as he let Baekhyun do all the work. They also decided to buy food for the picnic date that Chanyeol and Kyungsoo will have after visiting the shelter. After being asked what Kyungsoo likes, Chanyeol responded with a quick "Pesto Pasta!!" Baekhyun then grabbed the ingredients for Pesto Pasta with the help of a very kind housewife who they spotted in the pasta aisle.
