This is a very short first drabble, but the second one is a little longer! I'll post it soonish, but you can read it here if you can't wait for the second part. ;)“Baekhyunnie!”He had read the manhwa and had watched the dramas.Chanyeol had seen the countless stories of how childhood friends slowly realized their long hidden feelings for each other. He had seen the countless confessions where a blushing girl blurted out her feelings in jealousy, in tears, in anger… He had watched as she ran away in embarrassment and then seen how the handsome boy she was in love with always chased after her, revealing how he shared the same feelings for her.But that wasn’t how things worked.Chanyeol’s life was not drawn out by an artist nor was he an actor that was featured on the small screen. He wasn’t hired or created to play a character in love.The feelings he had for his best friend were real. They had been real for a very long time.But Chanyeol is not a female protagonist in some story. He is not harboring feelings that are about to burst from the seams. It does not destroy him to know that his fantasies of stolen kisses and soft caresses will not come true. He does not feel pain every time he looks at the object of his affection knowing that Baekhyun won’t feel the same way, won’t love him the same way… But Chanyeol does know that Baekhyun loves him. And those loving feelings of friendship are everything to Chanyeol.So when Baekhyun turns around and looks at Chanyeol with the brightest smile—one that could light up the darkest confines of a room—just as he calls out “Chanyeollie” with quirked lips, Chanyeol knows that this smile of friendship will always be enough for him.
