Taeyeon's POV They were moving slowly. Well, I suppose it was bound to happen because of the various traps that the Tomb held. Yoong and I stayed in the shadows, having the ability to cloak ourselves so they wouldn't detect us. I saw their frustration and anger. I wanted to help, but Yoong stopped me."They aren't weak, Tae. We will only help them when absolutely necessary" She said.She was right. I knew that. But everytime I saw Sica getting hurt, I wanted to rush to her and save her. It had been several days since they entered the Tomb. I saw Sunny applying some of the remedies that I had sent to her. I was relieved to know they were helping. Finally, we reached the underground tunnel. It was really dark but Fany and Hyo lit up the path with their fires. "How long is this damn tunnel" Sica muttered.I restrained a smile at her words. We followed them quietly."Weren't we just here?" Hyo asked.It was like a maze. Even we had a hard time following the path to see where we were going. They stopped now and then to take breaks. We were fine, and kept an eye on them. We stayed around a corner from them."Oh my god!" Fany screamed.There were skulls and skeletons...most likely, remains of people who had tried to go for the Scroll. I took a deep breath to calm myself."Tae, when we get back, I want to try something with you" She quietly said.I was curious, but she said nothing more. "Tae!"I blinked as I was suddenly lifted up. Yoong had stuck her sword against the wall, pulling us up as a sudden rush of water flowed."What about them?!""Looks like we lost them. The water must have pushed them further inside" She frowned and lifted us up easily on top of the rocks.We moved faster to try to reach them, wherever they were. It felt like we were running for miles and still no sign of them. Then we heard a sudden explosion and grimaced at the dust."Umm...Yoong, what is that?" I pointed to a huge monster. There was a bright light glowing from the middle and we all shielded our eyes."Must be some kind of guardian for the Scroll"We his behind some rocks as we watched them fight, but the monster was quite strong. "Tae? Can you analyze its structure and see what it is?"I had the ability to analyze everything structurally and see what we were dealing with. It often came in handy, especially times like these."Nothing. But I've filed it for future data use" I said."Light magic doesn't seem to work, but fire seems to do some damage...it seems to be made of rock, but much stronger" I frowned.Then Yoong suddenly charged in. Yuri's POV We groaned as the monster threw us against the wall, hitting our backs hard. I was sure we were done for when suddenly, the monster howled in pain and anger. It began smashing things and we grimaced at the dust it created. Then the howling stopped and when the dust cleared, it was cut into pieces. But there was no one. Yet I felt something..."Y-Yoona? Is that you?"They suddenly appeared and Fany, who was closest to them, nearly jumped out of shock. Yoona and Taeyeon were both wearing cloaks of some kind. Yoona stepped forward and grabbed the Scroll that was in a glass box in the middle that the monster had been guarding."H-How...""Get treated for your injuries first" Was all she said.Sunny began treating us and I couldn't help but look at Yoona as she and Taeyeon were looking over the Scroll."Stop fidgeting, Yuri" Sunny said.I didn't realize I was. Finally, Sunny was done and Sica was next. She, too, was staring at Taeyeon. I walked over to them."H-How...W-Why are you guys here?"Yoona handed the Scroll over to us."Just a coincidence. We'll get going now""W-Wait! You guys can't just leave like that!" Sica demanded, coming over to us."We--"The ceiling started to collapse and we all cursed as we got up and ran as fast as we could before we got crushed to death. After what seemed like hours, we made it outside just as the whole place exploded. I laid on my back, exhausted from all the running. I searched for the two, but they were gone. I sighed. "We should head back" Hyoyeon quietly said.Our mission here was finished. I looked back once more to see if they were really gone, but defeatedly flew back to base.~~~~~~~It's been a week since then. I had seen her again...and a rush of emotions had overcame me, mostly the ones that missed her. Sooyoung and Seohyun were busy analyzing the Scroll that we had brought. We were given orders to rest and eat. I reached into my coat pocket and found a necklace. I was surprised. The charm was a dragon, much like the one that had saved us before."When did she..."I was sure it was from Yoona. I put it on and hid it under my shirt, smiling a bit. Yoona's POV This past week, I had been analyzing Taeyeon's powers and her potential with a scanner I had developed."What is it, Yoong?"I was sure she had the ability and power to learn what I wanted her to learn, but I had to confirm just in case. I looked up at her and smiled."How would you like to learn something new?" She brightened and I chuckled. I had train her willpower, endurance and power to make sure things ran smoothly."It's not really learning new...you're just going to summon something""Like how you did that dragon?""Exactly...now, are you ready?"She nodded determinedly and I handed her a scroll and took a step back."This is a contract spell. You will be summoning an animal that will serve you. Even I don't know what animal you will summon. Don't falter and stay strong" I advised.I then nodded and she began saying the words. The floor suddenly turned bright red with the sign of the star and a strong power blew a strong wind, but Taeyeon was holding her own. There was lots of dust, but then it finally cleared. A large, handsome wolf appeared."Taeyeon, say the contract" I told her."Do you accept me as your Master?" "Hmm...you seem like a capable and a strong Master. Very well. I accept you as my new Master"There was a strong wind again and Taeyeon nearly fell in shock."Y-You can s-speak?" Taeng stared at him in amazement.The wolf just merely chuckled in amusement."He's yours, Taeng. Consider him like a partner. Train and spend time with him" I said."O-Okay..." They spent the next several days...bonding, so to speak. Taeng was a bit afraid at first, but she eventually grew accustomed to him. We sat down to eat and Taeng fed him some food too."Your name...I still don't know your name" Taeng realized."Ryner. I am used to being called Ryner""Oh okay, cool!" Taeng exclaimed and I chuckled."I assume you have a partner as well, so to speak. I can sense your power" He turned to me."A dragon. His name is Lux" I simply said, eating calmly."A dragon...interesting" The wolf looked at me, but I continued to eat like nothing was wrong."Yoong...won't everyone see him if we go somewhere? We're supposed to stay low-key, right?""You can summon him when you need to, like I do with mine. But you see that bracelet you have now?" I pointed at her wrist."I was wondering where it came from" She frowned."It's a sign of your pact with him. Like my necklace" I lifted mine up from my neck."So just because I made a pact with him, mean he...serves me now?""I am as powerful as my Master is. I am alive as long as my Master is. How you choose to use me is up to you, Kim Taeyeon" The wolf said."This is still weird to me" She sighed.I chuckled and finished eating. I said I'd be in the lab, working and told her to devote her time to bond with him as well. Taeyeon's POV We were outside, working on some combos when we took a break."You mentioned something about her summoning a dragon was...interesting. Am I just reading too much into things?"Ryner laid down in front of me."There is a legend. That once every lifetime, a person is born with unimaginable powers. Whether that is good or bad, is up to that person. There is always a trademark. A dragon is a sign of power and intelligence. Its powers are so strong that it change the world. But no one's ever seen a sign that they think it's just a legend. I'm sure you've felt it as well. That your friend is more powerful than she lets on""So her skills, talents and...power can make her achieve anything" I slowly said."If she puts her mind to it. If she truly is what the legend says, then the enemy is underestimating what she can do. By herself, she can simply turn the tide and win a war if she wished to" He said.He looked at me."Are you afraid now that you know something more?""Afraid...nah, Yoong's my friend. I think it just made me respect her more. And that I have such a reliable friend" I grinned."You are an interesting Master. Previous Masters have always just wanted to dominate and gain more power, eventually self-destructing. But you...I sense something more""I just want enough power to protect the people I care about"We went to join Yoong at her lab, where she was working."Where did you find that scroll to summon Ryner anyways, Yoong?"She pointed to some boxes."I found some interesting stuff in the corner, like it was meant to be hidden. I looked up what it meant and saw that it was a spell to summon an animal. Which depended on the owner. I just thought it would fit with you" She shrugged."What are you working on?" I curiously asked."Dealing with the fire problem that Fany and Hyo have first. Still working on it, but I think I'm getting closer. You like Ryner?""You do realize I'm right here, right" The wolf growled but I just chuckled."Like you said, I have to treat him like a partner, but as a friend as well. Anyways, I think it's cool. Thanks Yoong" I beamed at her."Don't forget your own training as well. I've made up a new training regiment for you that involves him but solo for you as well"I nodded and took the notebook from her. "Ah, we received a note from Seohyun"I clicked on the message and we read an alarming message."The nest has started to move towards us. Could they have their own minds? The Academy has gone on full battle alert. Unnies, can you help us out? We have yet to find out anything. A team of Blazers have already been sent out to make contact, but they were severely injured when they came back after only just a day. Please, unnies, if you can help..." *********Hmm...this is going into an interesting direction lol
