Secrets Of A Thief jojosny 102390K 2023-11-02

Xiumin woke up the next morning, sitting up automatically with a smile on his face.  Today was party day and he was so ready. He practically jumped out of bed.  If the sun had been bright the day before, then he believed that they were having a solar flare. He didn’t have to work today so that was already a plus on his side.  As he got ready he took extra time on his hair, wanting to make it perfect.  Today he had time to eat breakfast at home because he didn’t have to get up at 4:00 AM.  While he was making eggs he suddenly felt his phone buzz.“Yebosey—”, he suddenly dropped his phone into the skillet of eggs when he tried to answer it.“Xiumin?  Are you there?  What in the hell are you doing?” He could clearly hear Kyungsoo’s that voice from the phone as he grabbed it with a pair of tongs.  Finally, after tossing it between his hands he held it up to his ear.“Kyungsoo?  Are you there?  Sorry I accidentally dropped my phone in the pan.” He chuckled.“We really need to get you a new phone.” Kyungsoo said blandly.Xiumin looked at his old flip phone.  Sure it was like a dinosaur phone; but so far it had survived falling to the ground from the second floor of a building, so he thought he should keep it. Yeah, sure everyone else had their smart phones and such, but he wanted something that wouldn’t break if it fell on the floor or into water. “What’s wrong with my phone?” Xiumin asked, he knew the answer anyway.“Min, you know that your phone’s a d–”“Dinosaur.” Xiumin cut in, “I know.” He placed his phone between his ear and his shoulder before scraping the eggs out of the pan and onto a plate. “So, what did you call me for anyway, other than to criticize my phone?” he chuckled. He heard Kyungsoo laugh a little before he cleared his throat. “Anyway, I was wondering that since I was free today, ‘and you knew I was too,’ Xiumin smiled at this thought, “That maybe you would want to hang out today before the party, like lunch or something.”“Well let me check my schedule,” Xiumin smiled, trying not to laugh as he paused, setting his food on the table with silverware. He put the pan in the sink, dropping his phone in the process so that it bounced off the edge of the counter and onto the floor, the front screen popping out and sliding across the floor.“Oops,” he breathed.  This wasn’t the first time it had done this.  He leaned over, clicking the front screen back in place as he lifted it back to his ear. “I looks like I have a date today.” He knew Kyungsoo could hear the smile in his voice.“Whatever,” Xiumin knew that Kyungsoo rolled his eyes. “With your schedule, you couldn’t get a date if you paid for it.”“Oh rude.” Xiumin and Kyungsoo laughed. “Alright, I guess I can cancel my date with myself to make some time for you. What time do you wanna meet?” “How ‘bout at noon? We can go out for lunch then.”“Sounds good to me.” Xiumin sat down in front of his steaming breakfast. “Meet me at central park, I’ll talk to you later Soo.”“Okay, enjoy your breakfast Min, bye bye.”“Bye.” Xiumin hung up, grabbing his utensils and beginning to eat his food.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~Once he had finished his breakfast he cleaned the dishes and put them away; cleaning up so that the kitchen looked spotless. He cleaned up some other rooms, seeing as how this was a perfect day to do his laundry (which involved running it to the laundry-mat) and clean whatever he possibly could, because he didn’t have time to otherwise. In no time he had practically cleaned the whole house (not that there was much of it to begin with). But the feeling of accomplishment made the beginning of his day that much better. When he looked at the clock he saw that it was almost time for lunch. He quickly grabbed his jacket and headed out the door.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~When he arrived at central park he saw that Kyungsoo was already there waiting for him. “Hey Soo!” Xiumin waved as he ran over. Kyungsoo stood up from where he had been sitting.“Hey Min.” Kyungsoo greeted him. Whenever Xiumin saw Kyungsoo he always had the urge to open his eyes wider to match Kyungsoo’s but he knew that that the poor guy wasn’t doing it on purpose.  The doe-eyed boy always looked like this; he couldn’t imagine how he felt when this guy saw everyone else. Either way the guy was nice, plus, they worked at the same place so he knew they had something in common.“So where did you wanna go for lunch?” Xiumin asked.Kyungsoo shrugged. “I was going to have you choose.”Xiumin thought about it for a second. Where would the best place to go to lunch be? The only place that came to his mind was the Black Pearl; where he would go to lunch for work.“I know,” he turned to Kyungsoo, whose attention was fully on Xiumin. “Let’s go to the sub shop down town, The Black Pearl.Kyungsoo nodded, “Okay, let’s go.”~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~When they arrived at the sub shop Xiumin was immediately greeted by Tao and Luhan, who immediately asked who Xiumins’ friend was; seeing as how they had never seen him before, much less with Xiumin.Because of the slow crowd Tao and Luhan decided to sit down with Xiumin and Kyungsoo for the time being; getting to know more about Kyungsoo and visa-versa s they ate their lunch. As they talked Xiumin felt as Tao and Luhan were befriending Kyungsoo. He didn’t know whether to feel betrayed or thankful that they were becoming friends; he went with the latter.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~They spent a couple of hours just sitting and chatting before Kyungsoo was done and ready to leave. They said their goodbyes’ and left the shop. For most of the day Xiumin and Kyungsoo just hung out, not doing much of anything but meandering along, talking about anything that came to their mind. It was evident that they were excited, even though neither of them said anything out loud.As the hours passed time seemed to have sped up, because before long Xiumin said goodbye to Kyungsoo and to see him later; before heading home to get ready and go to the club.***When Chen woke up, the day seemed different; not only because he didn’t have to work (or have to get up early) but just in general. The day seemed calm and slow, in a peaceful way.He didn’t know whether to be excited or exhausted; he had had the same dream about the red-haired boy that he had seen yesterday. Why was it that every time he would see the boy he would dream about him that night?Chen slowly got up; the first thing (most important thing) was having coffee first. As he sat at the table waiting for his coffee to brew he leaned his head on his hand; he found himself falling back asleep; the images from his dream last night popping into his head each time his eyes fluttered shut. He sat upright with a start as he tried to shake himself awake. The buzzer went off and he poured himself a cup. The steaming cup in his hand sent shivers through his body as he took a drink. It wasn’t like the coffee that his secretary always brought him, but it was plausible.Suddenly his stomach rumbled. “Ughh.” He ran a hand over his face. The only thing he knew how to make was sandwiches and macaroni out of a box. He had never learned how to cook and was always disappointed in himself. Although he had never really had to cook for himself, with how his schedule went; plus, he only lived a couple minutes away from many different restaurants so he had choices. He didn’t know where to go, then a thought occurred to him, the sub shop he had been at; the menu said that they served breakfast sandwiches. ‘Okay’ he thought. ‘I’ll do that.’ He took a shower and got dressed before heading out.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~When he arrived at the Black Pearl he couldn’t help but smile at the happiness that seemed to radiate from angel and panda boy.“Good morning Mr. Businessman!” Tao sang as he skipped over to Chen, a tray tucked between his arm and his side. “So whatcha want today?” Tao linked his elbow with Chens as he led him to the front of the shop where Luhan stood. “Besides, its morning, do you not have work today?” Chen couldn’t help but smile.“You can call me Chen.” He chuckled as panda boy seated him in front of angel boy.“Okay Chenny boy.” Tao spun around, sitting down next to Chen, never taking his eyes off him. He saw Luhan smile and shake his head at the nickname from Tao.“I’ll have umm… that one.” Chen pointed to something on the board that involved sasage, eggs, and hash browns.“You got it Chenny.” Tao stood up, saluting before taking the tray back into the kitchen; the doors swinging shut behind him.“So,” Luhan turned to Chen, leaning on the counter, “have you heard about the big party goin’ down tonight?”  He said it in more of a whisper.“Yeah.” Chen replied.“Oh cool, I’ll see you there then.” Luhan smiled as Chen nodded. He stood up back up straight as a customer walked in.  Almost as if on cue Tao popped out from the kitchen with menus and a bright smile on his face. Chen heard the same greeting that he had gotten the first day he had come here. He thanks Luhan when his food arrived and began to eat.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~He spent the next couple of hours talking with Luhan and Tao about whatever; learning more about them personally while he ate his breakfast. They seemed to be really nice guys and he wouldn’t mind hanging out with them sometime (if they were ever off work). Finally he decided that it was time to go. He thanked Luhan and Tao, waving to them as he walked out the door.He smiled, slipping his hands into his pockets as he walked along. It was a warm cloudless day. As he looked around he saw many other people also enjoying the nice day.  He had been so excited for Saturday to come that it seemed to have crept up on him and now her had hours to wait with nothing to do.He couldn’t seem to make up his mind about what to do, so he just decided to take a stroll in the park for the time being.***It was around the time of twilight when Xiumin had finished getting ready and called up Kyungsoo. After the third ring Kyungsoo finally picked up. “Hey Soo, are you ready yet?” Xiumin laughed as he heard Kyungsoo cuss after dropping something. Kyungsoo almost never cussed, almost.“I’m almost, urgh, ready.” Xiumin heard something else go “clang”.  “Just give me a bit. I’ll meet you outside the club okay.”“Okay. I’ll see you there.” Xiumin hung up, shaking his head. Kyungsoo was the one who wanted him to go to this club and he was the one that was slow.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~When Xiumin arrived outside the club he saw that unlike any other club there was no one outside except the body guards near the door and the drunk people in the alleyway. He would occasionally see a person or two walk by or go inside. The air was warm as he sat on the back of the bench, his feet on the seat where he would have a clear view of the club and when Kyungsoo arrived. After about five minutes he saw Kyungsoo walk up; he got up and made his way over to Kyungsoo. “Gosh, it’s about time you showed up, I’ve been waiting for hours.”Kyungsoo rolled his eyes, “yeah, whatever, let’s just go inside.”When they walked inside Xiumin couldn’t help but look around. At first glance from the outside of the club it looked like a small building that could hold maybe fifty people tops, but on the inside it looked like something from a movie set back in the 1940’s. The tall ceiling reminded him of something that you would see in a cathedral with its vaulted ceilings. Although the furniture and décor looked like antiques the music was modern and there was a dance floor that lit up with every pulse of the music; the bass of the music reverberating through his body. There were people everywhere, he would have guessed around at least five hundred.Just as Xiumin and Kyungsoo were about to walk farther into the room; suddenly a tall blonde man walked up. He was elegantly dressed bot nothing to formal.“Hello, my name is Kris.” He bowed slightly, his English was flawless. “I am the owner, please, enjoy your time here.”“Thank you.” Kyungsoo bowed back as he smiled.  Xiumin looked unsure, tilting only his head as he walked after Kyungsoo. He didn’t really know what they guy had fully said, but he seemed to be friendly so Xiumin assumed he was nice.Xiumin Looked around as they walked, taking in all of the details of the large interior. He noticed as they walked that they seemed to be heading to the other side of the club. Kyungso was on a mission. When Xiumin turned around to see where they were headed he saw Baekhyun sitting with Tao and Luhan. ‘Who the hell told them about his?’ He mentally shrugged, it was too late now. But they didn’t even know each other… why were they sitting together? When they walked up to three looked up from where they sat and smiled. “Hey Minny!” Baekhyun stood up, hugging Xiumin before sitting back down and patting the seat next to him for Xiumin and Kyungsoo to sit down.“So, how did you know about the club?” Xiumin asked.“Him.” Luhan pointed to a guy standing by the bar, grabbing the drinks that the bartender handed to him. When he turned around the man looked very familiar, as he walked towards the table. His shorter build and light auburn hair making Xiumin immediately knew who it was. Sehun. As Xiumin watched the man casually walking towards their table, the only thing that crossed his mind was, ‘how the hell does he know Luhan?’ “Ah, Min, SooSoo, nice to see you actually came.” He waved a greeting at them before sitting down beside Luhan, throwing an arm around his shoulders. Kyungsoo and Xiumin looked at each other, rolling their eyes at the nicknames. They didn’t really like the guy on a personal level, so special nicknames were useless at this point.“Why didn’t you get anything for Tao? Xiumin asked.“He said he didn’t drink so I didn’t get him anything.” Sehun said simply, taking a drink.“What brings you here Sehun?” Kyungsoo asked. It wasn’t often that you saw the bosses’ number one in such a place without being beside the boss himself.“Well I get to take a break tonight,” he took another drink, “Plus, I get to spend time with this hottie right here.” He squeezed Luhan tighter against his side as Luhan blushed.“Luhan,” Xiumin looked at Luhan intently, “Is there something you aren’t telling me?” He raised his eyebrows. Clearly there was something going on here.“Oh, well; one day after you had just left the shop he came in and well…” he blushed again, “he kept coming back.”Xiumin and Kyungsoo looked at each other, the same look mirrored on their faces. They didn’t even want to know.***Just as Chen grabbed his jacket to leave he heard his cell phone ring. “Yeboseyo?” Chen walked to the door, his hand resting on the door handle.“Yo Chen, are you ready yet?” Chanyeol asked.“Yeah, I’m heading out now.” He opened the door and found Chanyeol standing there, phone to his ear.“Good, because I’ve been waiting out here for like ever.” He smirked, before hanging up and slipping his phone into his jean pocket.Chen stepped out, rolling his eyes as the door closed behind him, slipping his phone into his jacket pocket. “What are you doing here Yeol?” he asked as they began to walk.“Well, I wanted to make sure you didn’t bail on me last minute and decide not to come.”  He chuckled.“When have I ever bailed on you before?” Chen crossed his arms.“Let me see,” Chanyeol held a finger to his chin as if recalling all his memories, “every time.” He stared directly at Chen as he said this.“Whatever.” Chen didn’t look at Chanyeol. He had been right. Chen had always made up an excuse not to go out every time Chanyeol invited him to an event, any kind of event. Chen felt like at this point Chanyeol was trying to be his babysitter and make him do things that he didn’t want to, but then again he needed someone to push him to actually do something other than work right?“Are you only going because I told you your secretary was gonna be there?” Chanyeol smirked as if he already knew the answer. “Is this what this whole new outfit is for?” He gestured to Chens newly bought clothing that he picked out special for tonight.“No.” Chen said quickly. “What, you don’t think I buy things just because I like them?” Chen looked at Chanyeol who laughed and shook his head.“No. you never  buy things just because you like them, there always has to be a reason, a “ logical”  reason”  Chanyeol made the quotes sign with his fingers as if to make the truth even more obvious. Chen just rolled his eyes. Chanyeol was right, but Chen hated admitting that he was.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~When they arrived at the club it was different then he had expected it to be. He didn’t know what exactly he was expecting, but it wasn’t this. The inside looked more like a party for a rich man instead of an actual club, or at least, compared to the other clubs he had been at.Chen followed Chanyeol through the crowd (mostly because he was the easiest to see with his tallness and that curly hair of his) plus, Chen assumed that he probably didn’t know anyone else here. When they arrived at the bar the first thing Chen saw was an exceptionally tall blonde man in a white button up shirt and black slacks. He looked to be as tall as Chanyeol, if not taller by a couple of inches.“Ayo Kris, wassup.” Chanyeol leaned on the counter across from where the man stood making drinks.“Aye, Chanyeol, Who’s your friend?” He asked, setting a drink down in front of Chanyeol as Chen climbed up onto one of the bar stools that seemed almost as tall as the counter.  “Oh, Kris, meet Chen, “Chanyeol patted Chen on the back as if he were a good friend, only it was more of a smack that made Chen cough. “Chen, Kris.” Chanyeol motioned towards the blonde man now wiping out some glasses.“Nice to meet you.” Kris said in English.“Oh,” Chen was surprised that a man that looked Chinese knew English so fluently; but then again he didn’t really know the man’s personal life. “Nice to meet you too.”“Is there anything you would like?” Kris asked Chen, motioning towards the shelves of alcohol behind him.“Ummm,” Chen turned around and scanned the room (as if it was actually going to help him pick a drink he wanted). Suddenly he saw a group of people sitting around a table near the back or the club. He immediately recognized a couple people; there was the panda waiter Tao and angel boy Luhan, there was also the coffee boy from central park, Baek. As he looked more he saw another boy with his arm around Luhan. ‘His boyfriend maybe?’  He thought. The looked on the other side of Baek and saw another boy he didn’t know, and then he saw one person in particular that caught his eye, the red haired boy.He abruptly turned to Kris, pointing towards the table he had just been looking at. “I’ll have what they’re having.” It looked like it was just beer but anything was fine, he wasn’t picky.Kris squinted his eyes to see what they had before turning around and grabbing a bottle and handing it to Chen. “I’ll check ya later, yeol.” He stood up (slid off the chair), half saluting before heading towards the table. Not waiting for a reply from the two giants wrapped up in their own conversation. When he walked up to the table he noticed Luhan and Tao smile, greeting him with a wave, while the others expressions didn’t change as they looked up at him. “Can I sit here?” he asked the two who actually seemed to care.“Yeah sure.” Luhan smiled, “sit, sit” he motioned for Chen to sit next to the red haired boy.“I didn’t know what to order so I just picked something.” He smiled as he held up the bottle in his hand.Luhan smiled, the boy sitting next to him just stared at Chen. It was making him feel uncomfortable. “I may not drink but I’ll have a tall glass of that.” Everyone looked to where Tao was staring. It was Kris, the owner. Or at least that’s what Chanyeol had said. They all turned to watch as Tao stood up and made his way over to the man leaning against the bar as he casually talked with Chanyeol. He turned to the boy next to him, “Hi, I’m Chen.” He held out his hand and the boy shook it.“Xiumin,” He answered with a brief smile.Chen leaned over to the boy sitting on the other side of Xiumin, holding out his hand. “I’m Kyungsoo,” The boy shook his hand with a bright smile, “nice to meet you.”“You too.” Chen smiled. He held out his hand to the man sitting across the table with his arm around Luhan. The boy just stared at his hand, “Sehun.” He said plainly, not making a move to shake Chen’s hand. Chen slowly retracted his hand.  ‘Was that a glare?’  He could’ve sworn that the boy had glared at him. There was a moment of awkward silence that passed before Luhan piped up. “Do you guys wanna play a game?” Luhan smiled. He had everyone’s attention now.“What kind of game?” Kyungsoo asked taking a drink.Luhan scrunched his nose as if he was thinking of something good. “How about a type of I Spy?”“what do you mean?” Xiumin asked, “explain.”“Okay so, one of us will pick something and everyone else has to guess, you know, like regular I Spy, but the person who guesses the object doesn’t have to drink,  and everyone else has to take a drink.” He paused, “and…. Whoever runs out of alcohol first has to buy everyone at the table a beer for the next round.” ‘Seems easy enough’ Chen thought.Everyone else nodded and seemed to be okay with the idea, although, Sehun seemed indifferent he still agreed to take part in the game.~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~       ~This game went on for what felt like ten minutes, but Chen knew that it was longer than that. The game had been harder than he had thought, he had lost most of the time but he wasn’t feeling too bad because Xiumin hadn’t gotten any of the objects right and at this point, he was smashed. Luhan and Sehun had left a couple minutes before to go out and dance, whereas Chanyeol had somehow found his way over to the table only to steal Baekhyun away and not return. This left Chen, Xiumin and Kyungsoo who was passed out on the table. Although Chen could tell the he himself was drunk; Xiumin seemed to have no mind and thought he was completely normal, although his speech was slurred and he couldn’t seem to keep himself upright as he kept swaying back and forth. They had given up the game at this point and Chen found himself not being able to not smile as Xiumin seemed to swoon over him.“Ya know what Chen,” Xiumin moved a little closer, his speech slurred and his eyes opening and closing as he tried to keep himself awake. Or at least that’s what it looked like. “The first time we met I thought you looked like a nerd.” He laughed to himself, “but a hot nerd.” He moved his hand with the drink back and forth as he spoke.Chen grabbed his arm and even though he was impaired he managed to grab the glass from Xiumins hand and put it on the table so that he wouldn’t have it spilt on him. “Now don’t get me wrong.” Xiumin was leaning against Chens shoulder as he spoke. “It’s not that I don’t like nerds or anything,” he mumbled something Chen couldn’t hear, “but you!” he poked Chen in the Chest with his index finger, “you are just plain hot, you should come live with me forever so I can look at your beautiful face every day.” Xiumin put his hands on either side of Chens face and squeezing a little to make Chen lips form duck lips; as he stared straight at him.  ‘yep,‘  Chen thought, ‘he’s definitely drunk.’Chen found Xiumin in his lap and suddenly kissing him. It was a heated, passionate kiss. It was probably sloppy too but Chen couldn’t tell because he was also drunk. Xiumins’ mouth was hot and his face was flushed. Chen suddenly found Xiumins’ hands in his hair as he kissed him deeper. He felt himself getting hotter and hotter as the kiss continued; if this continued any further then he would definitely have to find somewhere more private where this could go on and no one would know. When Xiumin pulled back for a second Chen looked at the table, it was littered with bottles, all empty, some lying on their side while others were standing or even on the seat. Kyungsoo didn’t even shift in his sleep when Chens’ foot touched his. When he looked back at Xiumin their eyes locked, he saw the lust and need that formed there and he knew that he couldn’t hold back tonight.“Come on.” He stood up, pulling Xiumins hand so that he stood beside Chen; Chens arm around his shoulders as Xiumin locked his arm around Chens’ waist. They both staggered their way to the door, neither looking around for the people that they had come with, before heading outside.Chen hailed a cab, slipping a giggling Xiumin inside before following; telling the driver his address as they took off towards his apartment. ~~~Double update yay!
