"I thought it would be good to bring you here again." Himchan sighed. "Before... Before..." He looked uneasy."Before what?" She asked him, approaching even more the house."After... His grandma passed away... Daehyun wanted to fulfil her last wish. Work in the bookstore and his dad wants to demolish this house and build a Hotel." Himchan said with his hands on the front pockets of his pants."What? But..." She crossed her arms trying to keep herself warm as they entered the empty house, the weather was little chilly because of the rain. "Yeah... I Know..." They walked around the house, brushing with their shaking hands the old and dusty furniture. "We have a lot of memories here."Katherine froze as she heard his words and felt his cold hands holding her waist. He licked her neck, inhaling her intoxicating scent. Katherine shivered and turned, pushing him away."Don't." She said, a little shaky."What?" He seemed...Hurt? "I don't understand...Really." His voice was shaky, and he was nervous. "After sleeping with me, you... You simply ran away...You were distant from me, you never looked me in the eye, you never spoke to me." She could see his tears forming on the corner of his fierce black eyes. "And you came back after 6 fucking years... I already had gave up at the time... But when I saw your curriculum, when I saw your picture there, and your name... Everything came back... But you're so different." He sighed again."Face the reality, Himchan. I'm no longer Katey." She stared at him. "I'm no longer the 17 years old naive and funny girl." She was sure now, he was hurt by her words. "We... Are no longer teenagers." Katherine couldn't hold the tear that slipped down her cheek."But... Can't we pretend?" He cuped her face, staring at her eyes. "Can't we go back to those days... The days we were happy.""The past... Is in the past." She gulped the knot that were forming on her throat."Just... For one hour, no. Until we get back to Seoul... I beg you... Please, act like nothing ever happened, act just like when we were 17... Please." He closed his eyes, pressing his forehead against hers."Why?""Because there a lot more of things that I never got to tell you. And I want to tell them my friend." He said softly."Friend?" She chuckled."Yeah, you were my first friend." She put her hands on top of his, feeling his warmth. "Do you know how I felt when I saw that little girl getting out of her father's car, carrying a little pink purse?" "What?""I felt... That I wanted to marry this little girl." She laughed. Who would imagine, Himchan saying those things. "You were my first love, Katherine." He sighed and smiled, Katherine was surprised. Himchan loved her. "But that's the past now... As you said 'The past is in the past.'" He smiled weakly. Katherine sighed heavily."Yeah... True." She got out of his arms. slightly uncomfortable. "Is raining a lot, huh?" She changed the subject. "Yeah... Should we... Should we get going?" "Yeah... Yeah."
They went to the car, the rain got their clothes a little wet, but the ignored the fact that the water were turning their skin ice cold. He started the engine, driving in the wet roads, Katherine rubbed her hands together, trying to keep herself warm. Himchan noticed and turned on the conditioner."Thanks." She whispered."You're welcome." The silence filled the car once again, but it was comfortable. "Dad invited you to have dinner with us today.""Tell him that I can't make it." "Why? Why you always reject his invitations?" "Because I don't have time." She would rather spent time with her son."But you have time to look for a house in Busan!" He yelled angrilly."Yeah, I do!" She yelled back. They both were interrupted by Katherine's phone ringtone. She looked at the screen that showed the name 'Daehyun' and answered it."Hey." She heard his voice. "Hi. Is everything okay?" She asked, a little worried."No, no, everything is fine. I just put Seolchan to sleep, he was a little tired after playing so much video-games." Katherine laughed, making Himchan look at her, wondering who called."When are you coming home?" "I'm on my way... I'll be home in 30-40 minutes." She said."Oh, did you got the house?" Daehyun sat on the chair, sipping his warm coffee."No. The landlady tried to fool me, can you believe it?!" "Whoa! Oh... Wait... a costumer.""Okay, I'll talk to you when I get home, bye." She hung up, Himchan got a little curious."Who's it?""No one." She turned her stare to the window. Himchan frowned. ✮✮✢✮✮ Katherine woke up with Seolchan shaking her. "Mooom!" He exclaimed, she opened an eye with an open smile and hugged him."Let's sleep a little more, shall we?" She pulled him to under the sheets again."NO!" He pouted. "The movie will start and we will loose the start, so you we will go home and I won't watch the movie!!" He crossed his arms, making Katherine laugh. He resembled so much of Himchan."Okay, Okay, let's go then."Katherine went to the cinema with Seolchan, they watched The Princess and The Frog. Seolchan was paying more attention to his chocolates and popcorn than to the movie itself. After the movie,they went to the park, to get some ice cream. Seolchan finished his ice cream and went to play in the playground.
As he played with the sand, he found a little shiny green rock. He immediately thought of his mother, he took the rock on his small hands. "Mom! Mom!" He shouted, running to her."What's it?" She smiled."It's for you, mom!""Omo, omo! It's so pretty! Thank you, baby!" She took the rock and hugged him."K-Katherine?" She heard Himchan's voice.
