“Kyungsoo, this is your new roommate, Park Chanyeol, you two play nicely now” the nun smiled at me as she left, closing the door slowly behind her along with a small, scruffy 10 year old, with tear stains on his cheeks and a small, dog-eared teddy bear clutched in his left hand. He was looking so intently at the floor I thought he would bore a hole into the surface.“Hi?” I opened, walking towards him and slightly towering over him, well he was short. “Are you okay?” lifting my hand to put a slender finger carefully under his chin, I forced him to look up and look everywhere but my eyes, “C...Chan…yeol?” I tested out his name; the word sounded weird on my tongue but made him look at me so I smiled inwardly at my small triumph. “Are you okay?” I repeated, he really wanted to talk to me, he kept going to move his lips to reply but no sound ever made it past the slightly cut lips. “You don’t have to answer me, don’t worry!” I added hurriedly, and smiled at him, “Do you want to sit down?” I guided him over to my small bed and sat him down, then stood in front of him with my hands on my hips, smiling softly as he stared into my eyes. “Now, let’s clean your face!” I nodded, grabbing my still damp cloth and wiped it across his mucky skin, wiping away all the tears, all the mud and little did I know it, all the past emotions. He smiled, slightly, at me as I brushed his hair back so I could clean his forehead, running my fingers softly through his black hair and biting my lower lip in concentration. Suddenly, a pair of arms found their way around my hips and I found myself with a head rested on my chest, tears flowing down the cheeks I just cleaned. “Hey…hey…” I comforted, sitting down next to him and enveloping him into my arms, and resting my cheek atop his head. “It’s okay Chanyeol…”Within that hug and tender comforting, a bond was formed.A few months later, Chanyeol had stopped hiding behind me and started walking next to me. After a few years I was no longer the tall one. His growth spurt was the main cause I woke up nearly every morning on the floor, as he took over the entire bed. “Chanyeol…” I groaned, hand finding its way to the small of my back as I perched on the edge of the bed, prodding his nose, “Wake up dude…” I prodded again, and again, once more until I found myself being dragged down onto the bed, with a lanky but strong pre-teen on top of me. “More sleep please Soo…” he begged, well I couldn’t say no to a begging Chanyeol could I? I sighed and nodded, wriggling slightly before he laid down again, I snuggled into his side and wrapped my arms around his waist, so I had a safety belt of sorts if I ended up on the floor. “You’re breathing down my top…” he complained, this caused me to smirk and curl closer, breathing warm air onto his neck as my nose fit into his clavicle. “Fine! I’ll get up” he complained once more, without actually moving. He looked down at me, his eyelashes brushed my skin and I scrunched up my nose, causing him to smile and chuckle. “Cute” was all he said before he was pressing his lips to mine. A kiss between us, as we came to learn, meant nothing but a greeting, our own special way of saying good morning. If you exclude the rude awakening from the stone floor. “Get up Chanyeol… Father will be here soon…”I breathed as his lips left mine but they were still close, I could feel the breath caressing mine. “Mm…” he murmured, before my lips were stolen by his once more and I could feel a smile forming from his as there was a flick of tongue on my lower lip, no-one told me you don’t enjoy good mornings.“Kyungsoo!” a deep voice called, I turned around to see a tall man running towards me before I was picked up from the ground and spun around in mid-air. “Chanyeol put me down!” I chided, whilst laughing. I stopped growing at fifteen; he obviously had no plans on stopping. “Okay, okay” he chuckled before placing me down on the ground, “Congratulations Soo-ah…” He breathed, resting his arms on my shoulders as he smiled down warmly at me. “How did you know?” I questioned, raising an eyebrow and prodding his chest as my hands rested there, palms flatly against his shirt. “Sister Clare told me, I’m so proud of you” he couldn’t stop the smile from spreading across his face, reaching his eyes and turning them into one half crescent and one full moon. “You know, me being accepted by the College, means I will have to leave?” I said quietly, looking down, straight to my finger tips and biting my lip, “I’ll have to leave this place, my Father—“ I looked up, gaging his facial expression, “—you” I sighed, as I saw the hurt flash across his eyes and as he tried his hardest to hide it. “Well then, I’ll have to make your last few days special!” he nodded to himself, and squeezed my shoulders.I didn’t want to leave him. I was afraid of leaving him.Yeah, he’s sixteen, he’s nearly six foot three and counting and yeah, he is pretty intimidating, but this is the same man who has never slept in any other bed than mine, has that same teddy bear between our sleeping bodies so if he gets scared he knows where it is. He’s still a child; I don’t want to leave him. Not here.“Can’t you come with me? You know, for the first week…” I asked on my final night, sitting in the middle of my bed, legs crossed and hands folded in my lap as I watched him put on his sleeping clothes, “Kyungsoo, I can’t…” he sighed, as he slipped down his trousers. Licking my lips, I nodded to myself, “Come here Yeol.” I moved closer towards the headboard and he walked over, shirtless and trouser less. “Couldn’t you wai—“ I didn’t want him to talk, all I wanted right now was him to never forget me, for him to have an everlasting impression of me, I wanted to remember him just how I left him. I pulled him down, his legs on either side of my hips as he sits down in my waist and looks at me confused. “What are you…” He started, before he realised, before he felt the unnecessary pressure pushing into his thigh, and he laughed. He fucking laughed at me. “Kyungsoo… Why are you doing this?” he pushed me down onto the covers, leaning down as his too long hair brushed my ears, his nose nudging mine, “I want to remember you, I want you to remember me…” I murmured, pressing my hands into their usual place on his chest, palm down. “How could I ever forget you?” he whispered against my lips, “Didn’t you know; you never forget your first love” he smiled softly, pressing his lips, closed, to mine and smiled again. “I don’t have any doubts right now, you and I are stuck like glue, your soul, my soul, we’re perfect us two…” he chuckled and sat up, causing a small pout to form on my lips. “You’ll be back in two months Kyungsoo, I don’t want to ruin our last night together with you not being able to walk straight into your new dorm…” He winked and climbed off me, taking the bear from its hiding place and lifted up the covers, covering both me and the bear in them. However, he never did get dressed. Just like that, we fell asleep a tangle of legs, mostly his, his hands on my hips and mine on his chest. Perfect. Words: 1,351
