Chapter Ninety-three (1/2)
The next day at lunch time, Woozi, Seokmin, and Yeosang are eating lunch together. Woozi put his cup of noodles down and swallowed the beef that came along with it. "Hehe," He laughed, "I gave the song to Seungkwan, but we're not going to give it to Jongho until Thursday." He said with a smirk.
Seokmin laughed once. "You know he'll learn it in one night." He said, pointing at Woozi with his chopsticks.
"We'll just see about that, won't we?" Woozi continued smirking.
However, the table went silent as Mingi approached. "Hey, could I eat with you guys?" He asked, holding his tray with both hands.
"Can't you find another table?" Yeosang asked before noticing how close the other male is standing to Seokmin. "Step away from Dokyeom."
Mingi took one step away. "I mean, no is an answer." Mingi said seriously. "I just wanted to ask.." He looked down.
"Maybe a different time, Mingi." Seokmin looked up at the male. "We'd like lunch to ourselves." He continued.
Yeosang might as well have had a heart attack as another male came up beside him. "Hey Yeosang," San put his hand on the table and the other on the chair, "fancy meeting you in the lunchroom." He smiled sweetly. Woozi rolled his eyes. "Ugh.. This place is getting too crowded.." he muttered.
Yeosang held his chin. "You know, I couldn't imagine how we could see each other at lunch in a place we attend school.." He said sarcastically. "Oh well.." He shrugged. Mingi poked Seokmin quietly. "Seokmin," He whispered, "who's that?" He asked.
Seokmin looked at Mingi with excited eyes. "Oh, let me introduce you." He said loud enough for the table. "Mingi, this is San. San, this is Mingi." He looked at the two while introducing.
San had wide eyes while looking at the tall man with blue hair. It contrasted to his red hair. However, his dark eyes met Mingi's set of dark eyes. "Oh.." He stood up properly, "uhm.. Hi.." He waved a bit before putting his hands at his sides. Mingi looked up and down at the dove quickly, swallowing his spit inaudibly. "Hi.." He returned.
"You know, San.." Woozi sat back in his chair. "Mingi's looking for someone to eat lunch with. He mentioned.
San's eyes pin on the new male. "Oh, really..?" He asked. "Are you a stork kid too?" He asked. "No, I don't believe in that stuff." Mingi answered. "So you don't believe I'm here?" San widened his eyes.
"Oh boy.." Yeosang said under his breath.
Mingi copied the other with wide eyes. "I mean, obviously you're here. There's no denying that." Mingi replied, scratching his cheek. Seokmin leaned closer to Mingi. "San's single, by the way." He whispered. Mingi looked at him before the red-head again. "I'll make you believe in storks, Mingi." San said in an attractive voice. "Interesting.." Mingi's eyes lock with San's eyes. "Let's see about it." He gave permission.
San motioned behind him. "I saw a vacant table over there, let's go." He said. "Kay.." Mingi removed his roots from Seokmin's side to follow the dove away from the table.
Yeosang had wide eyes and looked at the other two. "Uhm.. what just happened?" He asked.
Woozi smirked. "We just set two desperate boys on a date." He answered.
"You know.. if they do like each other, that means San won't ever bother you again." Seokmin winked. "Doves are loyal." He included.
Yeosang held his chin. "And I wouldn't be in a constant battle with Mingi.." He muttered.
Seokmin put his thumb up. "Everyone wins." He said.
"Let's just hope Mingi sticks with San." Woozi said. "I'd hate for San to get heart-broken." He picked his soda up to take a sip.
Yeosang hummed. "That will definitely not be pretty." He said.
At the same time, Hoshi took his lunch out of the fridge. He turned around to see Jeno standing there with his bag on his shoulder.
"Hey, Hoshi-sunbae." He waved. "Mr. Choi said that I'm ready to move to your office now." He bowed.
Hoshi bowed back. "Welcome to office suite five, Jeno." He said. "It's lunch break, so there's no work going on right now." He continued and put his bowl of noodles on the table.
"Oh yeah.." Jeno watched Hoshi stir his cold soba noodles, "I'm hungry.." He chuckled as he opened his bag.
Hoshi saw the boy take out his lunch bag. "OoOo what do you have for lunch?"
Jeno looked up from his bag. "My wife cooked me stir-fry chicken." He said with an excited smile. Hoshi choked on his noodles and instantly noticed the ring on Jeno's finger. "Wife?" He asked when his throat cleared. "You're married?"
Jeno chuckled a little. "I couldn't have a wife without being married to her.." He held his chin. "But I suppose that was a good question." He shrugged.
Hoshi nodded and stirred his noodles. "How long have you known each other?" He asked.
Jeno took the meat out of the pot when it started sizzling with the noodles. "A pretty long time.." He said. "What year is it?" He asked.
"It's 2020." Hoshi looked up at the boy who finished reheating his lunch.
"Twenty years then." Jeno sat down next to Hoshi. "But married two years." He continued before dipping his chicken in the sauce that was also packed.
Hoshi furrowed his eyebrows. "And.. how old are you?" He asked. "Twenty." Jeno stated simply.
The look on Hoshi's face said it all. Jeno poked at his meat and shrugged. "It was an arranged thing.. Good that we got along, right?" He said before putting the chicken in his mouth.
"They still do that..?" Hoshi muttered.
Jeno shrugged once more. "I dunno.. I guess.. Anyway, I heard you're dating my cousin Jisoo." He mentioned.
"Wait," Hoshi put his chopsticks down, "I thought you were Eric's nephew." He said.
Jeno chuckled. "Surprise~ Mr. Choi hired me instead of that irresponsible kid." He said.
"You are one mystery.." Hoshi held his chin in his palm.
"And your cold soba noodles are getting warm." Jeno commented. "Talk to Mr. Choi about it later." He insisted as he waved to Hoshi's food.
At the residence, Jeonghan comes from behind the house. He walked up to Vernon and Dongwoo who were shoveling. "How's work coming along out here?" He asked the workers. Vernon looked up from the trench. "Pretty good, we're working on the pipes right now." He said with a smile.
Jeonghan smiled as he saw the boy enjoying himself. "That's good to hear. I'm going inside." He pointed to the door.
"I'm thirsty." Vernon mentioned.
Jeonghan giggled a little. "Okay, I'll go get the hose and spray you down, Vernon." He teased.
"Actually," Donwoo raised his hand, "I got some cement on my boot. Could you spray it too?" He asked.
Jeonghan blinked a couple times. "I wasn't being serious, but if you insist.."
Jeonghan picked up the hose and sprayed it toward the man's boots. "Could you not spray me though?" Vernon asked.
Jeonghan held his hip and looked at Vernon sassily. "I'm spraying two people. Whoever it might be." He said. "Now, who's nex-"
"Boo!"
Jeonghan turned to the boy who scared him, and sprayed him without hesitation. He turned off the hose and clenched his teeth.
"Damnit, Jae. You're going to scare the wrong person one day." Jeonghan said as he watched the water drip the boy's body.
Jaemin gave a blank stare at Jeonghan. Vernon smirked. "Glad it wasn't me." He said.
Jeonghan put the hose down. "I'll go get you a cup of water.." He walked past Jaemin and into the house.
There he saw Jinyoung looking through a furniture catalogue to match the furniture that Wonwoo wants. He looked up and watched Jeonghan fill a cup with water. "I saw you splashing Jae. Did he really scare you?" Jinyoung asked with a slight smirk. Jeonghan chuckled. "I'm not as strong as I used to be, Jinyoung." He sighed. "Things scare me too easily these days.." He closed his eyes. "You still didn't scream like Cheol did that night Wonwoo came to you." Jinyoung teased.
Jeonghan laughed. "True, Wonwoo came to us past midnight." He remembered. "That and Cheol is a scaredy cat." He folded his arms. "Anyway, what are you doing this Saturday?" Jeonghan asked.
Jinyoung put the catalogue down. "Working here on Wonwoo's extension, why?" He asked with an interested smile.
"Okay then. Woozi and Yeosang will be holding their wedding in the backyard." Jeonghan stated. "Would you like to attend with Dongwoo and your kids?" He asked.
Jinyoung sighed with a smile. "I don't see why not. I haven't seen my kids in awhile." He mentioned. "It'd be nice for a good get-together with old friends too." He said.
