Chapter Seventy-three (2/2)

Meanwhile, Yeosang and Yeji walk on the track.  They stop walking when they hear a weird noise from behind.  "That's the noise I heard yesterday!"  She clung to his arm.

Yeosang looked at her before looking at the direction of the noise.  He stood firmly while waiting for it to come by.  He broke his stance when he saw it was just a tram coming at them at a slow pace. "Stand back,"  He put Yeji behind her as he walked toward the tram and put his hand up. He watched the tram come to a stop.  He then read the top that said it was a maintenance unit.  The door opened and a familiar face came out.  "Dahyun."  Yeosang ran up to her.  "Are you okay?"  He asked, holding her shoulders. "I'm fine, just a little hungry."  She said before looking ahead.  "Yeji's here too?  Come inside."  She made room. "Have you found Haechan?"  Yeosang asked as Yeji made her way inside. Dahyun simply looked toward one of the seats.  Yeosang followed her gaze to the sleeping male.  "He's been asleep for a couple days now.."  Dahyun said, closing the door and continuing on the track. Yeosang walked up to the other male.  He noticed the boy wasn't moving in his breathing like people normally do when sleeping.  He held the boy's cold, unmoving hand and felt for a pulse on Haechan's neck.  "Dahyun.. He's dead.."  He muttered. Yeji looked at Haechan with raised eyebrows.  "Looks like a few days now."  She commented.

Yeosang took the boy's jacket off and covered Haechan's body with it.  He moved away and sat down, resting his feet.  "He's been here for a long time.."  He commented.  "Maybe we were put here to die."  Dahyun pouted her lip and looked ahead.  "We should be an hour away from the Incheon station.  Maybe there will be an exit.."  She said. "I doubt it,"  Yeji sat down, "the doors were bolted in Iksan."  She said. Dahyun just looked ahead and sighed.  "Thanks for smashing the vending machine open, Yeosang."  She said. "You were behind us, huh?"  Yeosang chuckled.  "Yeji ran away from you."  He said. Yeji folded her arms.  "Yeah, well I thought that it was a monster."  She pouted. Dahyun giggled and shook her head.  "We're fine now, so don't worry."  She put a hand on Yeji's shoulder. Yeosang closed his eyes and sighed.  "Wake me up when we get to Incheon.."  He muttered.

*** Jeonghan looks at the address of Sungjae's house.  He typed it into his phone and let it take its time loading up.  Meanwhile, Seokmin looked at him with pleading eyes. "Please don't give him a hard time, he's such a sweet boy."  He put his hands together. Seungcheol chuckled.  "Don't worry, if he's a friend of yours, we won't be mean to him."  He assured.  Mingyu ran down the steps and got the parents' attention.  "Jun accessed your bank account this morning."  He said.  "They should be arriving soon."  Seungcheol sighed in relief.  "We still have to see what Sungjae knows.  For all we know, Dino could be in the subway."  He looked Jeonghan's way. Jeonghan nodded.  "Make sure Jun and Hoshi eat when they get home."  He pointed Wonwoo's way.  "We're leaving now."

The parents head to Suji-gu  Upon arriving, Jeonghan looks at the relatively big house.  It wasn't as big as some houses, but it definitely had a roof to walk on.  "Our house is better,"  Seungcheol pouted. Jeonghan rolled his eyes and poked Seungcheol.  "Duh, everyone's house is the best to them.  You can't compare homes."  He winked.

Jeonghan rang the doorbell and waited for the door to open.  A tall boy opened the door.  He had a suit on and his black hair was parted to the side. "May I help you?"  He stood tall.  Jeonghan had to look up slightly. "I'm Jeonghan, Dino's father."  He introduced himself. The boy smiled and nodded.  "I know,"  He waved, "and you're Mr. Choi, please come in."  He backed up. The parents look at each other before shrugging.  Taking off their shoes, they pan the front room.  "You have a mighty big house,"  Seungcheol commented, "who all lives here?"  He asked. "Just me,"  The boy closed the door, "my name is Yook Sungjae."  He bowed. Jeonghan watched him come back up and he smiled a bit.  "I hear you were good friends with Seokmin in school?"  He asked, putting his hands behind his back. "Seokmin,"  Sungjae smiled a bit, "yes, we were good friends.  Would you like to eat or drink anything?  I have food cooking."  He pointed at the kitchen. Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan and nodded, feeling his rumbling stomach.  They followed Sungjae to the dining room.  Sungjae took out extra plates and bowls. "So.. Do you know anything about Dino's disappearance?"  Seungcheol asked as he opened a chair for Jeonghan. Sungjae stirs the pot and looks back at Seungcheol.  "I haven't been in contact with your family or the school in awhile.. This is the first I'm hearing about it."  He said honestly. "Do you know Shownu?"  Jeonghan asked. Sungjae dropped the spoon on the floor by accident.  "Sh-shownu?  The administrator's son?"  He asked, cleaning the spoon with hot water and soap.  "He came here a few months ago for some reason." Seungcheol watched the boy return the spoon to the pot.  "What did he come over here for?"  He asked. "He said he wanted to use my subway for some recreational use."  Sungjae folded his arms.  "I think he just wants to promote his dad.  Sunghyun is running to be the admin for the main building in Seoul."  He said.

Jeonghan pouted his lip.  "My sons' phones were tossed somewhere outside your tunnel.  Could we investigate a little?"  He asked. "Absolutely,"  Sungjae came to the table to put the pot on the table, "I told Shownu that he wasn't allowed to go in my subway.  And if he kidnapped kids and put them there, I want them found as soon as possible."  He said, opening the lid. Seungcheol hummed and accepted the bowl of rice.  "And the tunnel starts here in Suji-gu?"  He asked. "The tunnel has different stations, I made sure to bolt each door.  It starts and ends here.  One way in and one way out."  Sungjae explained.  "I have the lights on and the maintenance rooms open.  I also have snacks at the stations."  He included. Jeonghan nodded and looked at Seungcheol.  "We'll search after we eat."  He said.

Meanwhile, Dahyun stops and smiles.  "Look!  We're in Incheon!"  She pointed at the station. Yeosang woke up and stood up.  He leaped out of the tram and went onto the platform.  He saw a little crack in the door and smiled.  "Yeji, help me."  He pointed. The girl obeyed, attacking the door as she could.  Dahyun looked back at the covered boy and sighed.  I'm sorry, Haechan..  She said inwardly before leaving the tram.  She then saw the martial artists break the bolts at the corners of the doors. "It's evening, let's go."  Yeosang pointed. Yeosang ran out and laughed like a crazy man in the street.  He went through the familiar sidewalks until he stopped and saw a familiar boy waiting at a crosswalk. "Woozi!"  He called out. Woozi looked in his direction and froze.  He wondered if this was just another one of his visions, or if Yeosang was really there.  When he felt those arms around him, he knew for sure that this is real.  "I missed you,"  He put an arm around Yeosang as the other hand held his juice. "I missed you so much too."  Yeosang pulled back. He looked around and grabbed a hand-sanitizing tissue that was free to take.  He put it on his lips as well as his hands, confusing Woozi.  Yeosang then kissed Woozi's lips.  Woozi kissed back and sighed happily. "I just.. don't want to get tunnel all over you."  Yeosang said with blushed cheeks. Woozi chuckled and handed the boy his juice.  "Drink up, I'll bring you home to shower."  He said, holding Yeosang's other hand. Yeosang was obedient, following right beside Woozi while sucking on the straw.

*** Jeonghan and Seungcheol have been traveling in the subway for what seemed like hours.  And it really was hours.  They look at the time to see it's the next day, making it the sixth day Dino has been missing.  Jeonghan momentarily closes his eyes as he walks alongside Seungcheol. In the distance, they hear a sound.  They look at each other as the sound seems like it's continuing.  They hold hands and run toward the sound.  When they get closer they stop for a moment. "That sounds like Dino complaining,"  Jeonghan commented as he tried to listen in, "Dino's here. Our little Dino is here."  He said with a big smile. Seungcheol jumped up and down with Jeonghan before they continued running toward the noise.  As they got closer, they could tell it was Dino's voice.  They stopped outside a maintenance room and heard his voice better.

"In here, get the door open."  Jeonghan pointed and commaded Seungcheol beat the door down and saw that the room was empty.  Both walked inside and then noticed the recorder on the floor.  Jeonghan bent down to pick it up. "No!  Jeonghan, don't-" Right once Jeonghan picked up the recorder, a door closed.  A thick, metal door was in place of the door that just got knocked down.  "I'm sorry.."  Jeonghan furrowed his eyebrows when Seungcheol looked back at him.  "I just.."  Jeonghan went on his knees as his tears started. Seungcheol sighed and held the boy's shoulders.  "You didn't know.. let's just wait here, okay?  Go to sleep while I try to figure out how to get out."  He kissed Jeonghan and put him against the wall. Jeonghan nodded and accepted Seungcheol's jacket as a blanket.  He looked at the recorder and played the tape to listen in if there were any clues.  He realized that this was an argument about the color brown he and Dino had at Krispy Kreme awhile back. "The kidnapper was with us when we were eating donuts a few Sundays ago."  He muttered as he listened to Dino's voice.

He smiled even though all the boy was doing was complaining.  He closed his eyes and listened as Seungcheol walked around the barely-lit room.  <hr size="1" style="width:263px;height:1px;">Yay~  Those five are out of the tunnel!

Poor Haechan though..

And now JeongCheol are trapped in a small room. *sigh*
