The moon shone bright through the leaves of the forest as some deer fled the area in a frenzy. Suddenly, a deer stop dead in its tracks as ca cold hand impaled it. Blood splattered everywhere as a petite girl went to suck the blood away. “Always so brutal, Joohyun-unnie.” a smooth voice said out of nowhere. The girl was taller than the one called Joohyun. “Shut up and eat, Seulgi.” the coldness in her voice would have frozen others, but Seulgi was used to her. They had been together since 1755. Joohyun had come across her dying and out of a whim saved her. Joohyun was cold but she had a soft side as well. Seulgi had no idea how old Joohyun was, all she knew was that Joohyun had lived much longer than her. Seulgi stifled a giggle as she came near Joohyun to feed off the deer. They only hunted on full moons and tried to steer clear of humans. For some reason, Joohyun never attacked humans. She just let them be. The cold wind blew as they drained the deer but suddenly Joohyun noticed a presence coming towards them. “Come, Seulgi.” In a blink of the eye, they were gone. The deer was left drained on the ground to rot or for the scavengers. About ten minutes after the two vampires left, a shadow had arrived at the drained deer. “Look what we have here, some nasty creatures are out here.” Two girls stood, looking at the dead deer. One with black hair was a head taller than her blonde companion. The next morning at the local high school, Joohyun and Seulgi entered side by side. The two of them were known for the beautiful looks. Seulgi tended to be sociable and interact with humans but not Joohyun. She was known as the ice beauty. She was beautiful beyond belief but oh so cold to anyone other than Seulgi. Joohyun sat at her desk beside the window and peered out of it. She had a weird feeling about toady. The air was different. When the teacher came in with a transfer student, she realized what it was. The hunters were here. She peered up at the girl who was undoubtedly beautiful and froze. This girl looked just like Sooyoung did. The Sooyoung who she loved all those years ago. “Hello, my name is Joy. I hope we get along” The voice had broken Joohyun out of her trance as she made eye contact with the girl named Joy. Even the way her eyes crinkled was the same as Sooyoung. Joohyun felt the urge to run. To get out of there as soon as she could. Sooyoung couldn’t be back, she died all those years ago. “Sit by Joohyun over there. She’ll show you around.” The teacher said, pointing at her. Joy walked over to the empty desk beside hers as whispering started to happen. “Now let’s get started. Today we will be going over the quadratic formula. Get out your textbooks.” You could hear students groaning as the class began. Joohyun was stiff in her seat, she needed to get out of here soon. She looked down at her desk to see a note there. She reached over to open it to see it was from Joy. “Let’s get along, Joohyun.” The note said in beautiful handwriting. She peered over at Joy who was smiling at her. She could have died again right there. Joohyun maintained her poker face as she peered at the beautiful girl that brought heart wrenching memories back to her. “Joohyun what is the answer?” without missing a beat Joohyun said the answer in her velvety voice that left the class mesmerized. Joy’s eyes widened at the sound of the girl’s voice. How could Joohyun not know the answer when she has been attending school for the past 150 years? School was just a way for her to fit in and not be noticed as much. As soon as class was over, Joohyun bolted. She had to find Seulgi. Although, it seems Seulgi was looking for. She must have noticed the discomfort Joohyun was feeling. Since Joohyun was her sire, they had a bond that couldn’t be broken. “What’s wrong, Joohyun?” Seulgi looked frantic as she saw Joohyun. “Are you okay? What happened? I know there are hunters, is it that?” “No, well. Kinda. One of the hunters, looks like Sooyoung. A replica.” Joohyun whispered to Seulgi as low as she could. Seulgi stood in shock at the words she was being told. How could Sooyoung be alive? They tried to save her but, they were too late. “Joohyun..” a soft voice that broke into the two girl’s circle. Both girls stopped and stared at the other. Joohyun had known who it was as soon as she heard her voice, but Seulgi stood frozen. Joohyun growled low enough that only Seulgi could hear her which broke the girl out of her trance. “Will you show me around? The teacher said you would…” Joohyun heard the hesitance in the girl’s voice. “Come.” Was all Joohyun said as she started to walk off. When she noticed the girl wasn’t following her, she stopped and looked back. “Are you coming?” Joohyun tried to not sound cold but she was having too many feelings. She tried to show Joy around a s quick as possible, but the said girl kept getting distracted by things. Joohyun tried not to find it cute but to her it was. “Joohyun, why are you so quiet?” Joy suddenly asked. She always seemed to catch Joohyun off guard. “I am a woman of few words.” Joy seemed to accept that answer as she peered around, taking everything in. That’s when she noticed eyes were on the both of them. “Why are they looking at us?” Joy asked curiously. “Because you’re with me.” Joohyun answered her and started to walk off. “I hope you know where everything is, see you tomorrow.” Before Joy could say anything, Joohyun had disappeared into the crowds. Joy had learned that Joohyun was cold, but she seemed nice. And the other girl, Seulgi, seemed to be Joohyun’s only friend. Joy shrugged and went to go find Wendy. They had to go inspect for Vampires tonight. Joy gritted her teeth; those savages killed her whole family. She would get her revenge.
