Hotline Bling
In the middle of the night, when Park Sooyoung is handling calls for the local depression hotline center, a drunken heartbreaker calls to tell Sooyoung about having her heart broken. ForewordSooyoungs thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a ringing telephone. For a moment she simply sat there in shock, staring at the only object on the desk besides her own cell phone. Then she recovered and hurried to pick up the receiver."Hello, this is--"A loud burp greeted her from the other end of the line. Then a voice, obviously intoxicated, started speaking. "Im fine."Sooyoung nearly dropped the receiver. She knew that voice. Shed recognize it anywhere, even if the owner of the voice was drunk and possibly--judging from the background noises--in a dark corner of a club somewhere. That voice had whispered promises into her ear as the two of them held onto each other tightly. That voice had put her back together after her deadbeat mother left Sooyoung and Yerim to fend for herself. That voice had shouted declarations of love from the top of a small hill just outside the outskirts of town. That voice belonged to a certain brown haired girl with striking eyes that made Sooyoungs breath catch. That voice that Sooyoung loved so much. The same voice that made her fall apart again when she left.Shed recognize it anywhere. Rated T for swearing and graphic imagery.
