Prologue: I sat on my warm, cozy sofa with a soft, fluffy blanket over me with a mug of hot chocolate while watching some random Korean TV show. I sniffed, this cold has been with me for over a week and I totally hate it! Suddenly, a knock comes. Who might it be?Slowly, I leave my warm blanket and open the door. In front of me were three police officers, "Miss Han Eun Mi?""Yes?""Were here to deliver some very bad news," the tall male officer started. The female police officer cleared her throat and looked at me with serious eyes, "Im sorry but your parents has gotten into an accident, they are in critical condition and were not sure if they can make it."I think my heart stopped beating, theyre joking right? Theres no way my parents wouldve gotten into an accident! They were fine this morning!"Miss Han Eun Mi?" asked another officer.I cant breath, I cant move.. I cant function. For a moment I thought I was paralyzed, "Y-Youre joking right?" Tears teased my eyes."Im afraid were not," the female officer took a step towards me and patted my back, "Calm down miss, the hospital is trying their best to save your parents."Im so baffled, my head is just blank. Im thinking of so many things that I dont even know where to start...Later that night, I was brought to a hospital because I had fainted, I didnt know what came over me but all the energy from my body just escaped, my bones felt like jelly. When I opened my eyes, I saw a familiar woman standing over me, she was a fair lady with a worried experession, "Eun Mi?""Hmm?" "Thank God youre ok," the stranger gave me tight hug and now that my vision is clear, there were tears flowing down her cheeks, "I was so worried and I heard the news abotu your parents so I just had to get here quickly."Thats when it hit me that all this wasnt a dream, my parents got into an accident... Please tell me theyre still alive? My stomach twisted, there were like snakes crawling and it made me feel sick, "A-Are my parents... alive?"The womans eyes widen and she cried some more.Does that mean... theyre gone?"Eun Mi," the lady sighed miserably, "The doctors tried their best but your parents didnt make it... Im so sorry, dear."She gave me another tight hug, longer this time. I didnt cry, not did I make a sound. My heart felt like it was squeezed out and my mind is just like a jigsaw puzzle that contains 1000 pieces from different types of puzzles that will never fit together.My parents are... dead.And thats pretty much how my beautiful life turned upside down. Because of an accident, I was forced to adjust myself into a situation I never thought Id be.
