The wedding gown was worn by a headless mannequin. It was a sheer white beauty the moment you saw it. A heart-shaped corset tube embedded with real diamond stones until the waist part. The skirt half of the gown was ruffled with a cascading hand-woven silk and a long, long silk trail. “What do you think?” your mother asked. “Omoni, it’s beautiful!” You hugged her tight and saw your father wiping his eyes with a handkerchief. “I’d like to see you wear it tomorrow.” His throat tightened. “You’ll be someone else’s girl from then on.” You gave him a hug too and peck his cheek. “Aboji, don’t make me cry!” You laughed nervously. “This is my future and I’ll face it.” Lorraine and Sunny inspected your gown gleaming. Tiffany squeezed between them and flipped her fingers in the silk. This looks ridiculous and ugly. Only the diamonds made it look elegant.
