“How many octaves can you reach?” the woman asked Jieun.“Just through the 4th octave ma’am,” she answered politely.She glanced through the clear glass window to look at Yongguk who was giving her a thumbs up and a proud smile written all over his face.“That’s good enough,” the lady kindly signalled outside to the man sitting in front the audio set.In a moment, a melody played through the closed doors of the recording studio. Jieun sang as sweetly as she can. She closed her eyes while she sang her heart out.“She’s amazing…” the guy in front of Yongguk said.“I know…” he said proudly.*Of course I know. I hear her every morning singing all the song that came out of the radio. I hear how she expresses herself through a certain song. I hear how she gives her own rendition to a song. I hear her every single day. I hear her just by standing by my window. And I know that voice can express any song well and sweet. Just as well and sweet as Jieun is* Yongguk thought as he stood there and stared at her singing figure inside the recording studio. She was swaying her head as the song goes. She opened her eyes after the song. Her eyes immediately saw Yongguk’s wide grin and clapping hands. Just the sight of him made her confident with herself. She smiled widely at him too.“That was better than I expected…” the lady beside her said.She actually forgot that there was somebody with her in the studio and that person wasn’t Yongguk.“Have you received any vocal lessons before?” the lady asked.Jieun turned slightly red. “Yes…”The lady slowly nodded. “Oh well… I guess they did a good job.”*a really good job for that matter. It sounds too good from an amateur* she side note.Jieun bowed to her then exited the studio. “That was simply… beautiful.” Yongguk whispered as she stood next to him. He suddenly slipped his hand unto hers.Her slightly red cheeks suddenly burned red.“Thanks…” she whispered back at him and he gladly smiled back then squeezed her hand. Jieun rubbed her thumb on his hand and smiled.
