Chapter 1 (1/1)

Song Ae Sook wandered around the unfamiliar college campus. She looked in classrooms through the windows. Most of them were the same, just boring rooms filled with desks. Nothing to see, really, but Ae Sook wanted to explore the whole campus. Since her ears were useless, she might as well use her eyes to their full potential. She freely roamed, and as she walked she couldn't help thinking about that question that she'd asked herself a million times before. What does music sound like? Whenever she saw people, she had to tell herself that they were talking. Whenever she saw birds, she had to tell herself they were singing. Whenever she saw anything, she had to try to tell herself there was a sound for it. It was hard not to know. Voices, instuments, and all the other little noises we hear everyday. Again, she wondered, what does music sound like? She was always drawn to anything musical. Maybe that's why she was now standing in a room full of instruments. How she got in there, she didn't know. She vaguely remembered the feel of the cold, metal doorknob, but that was all.So, which instrument caught Ae Sook's eye the most? The grand piano. It had a simple beauty. She shyly walked to it. She plucked a few keys. Her fingers tingled a bit, but there was no sound. She sat down on the piano stool. At first, she lightly tapped the keys again. Without realizing it, she started hitting them harder. Then, two or three notes at a time. She couldn't tell if the sound was harmonious or just a ruckus. She wished she did. Little did she know, someone was watching, listening. Someone by the name of Kwon Ji Yong.Ji Yong stood by the door and saw her. He watched as Ae Sook touched the black piano and it made the most terrible sound he'd ever heard from a musical instrument. He cringed. It was terrible. Awful. What is she doing?"Hey," Ji Yong called. She only continued to sit there, pretending as if she could play the piano. "Hey!"She stopped playing. He thought he heard her, but she didn't do anything. She just sat there. Ji Yong felt as if he was being ignored. He started taking wide steps toward the piano. He tried calling her again, "Hey, you." Still, she didn't react."Ya!" Ji Yong turned Ae Sook around by yanking her shoulder. "What are you doing?"Ae Sook was terrified and it showed. Her brown eyes were wide open when they met with his. She was paralyzed by shock and fear. Well, it was mostly shock since there was nothing much to fear. He looked pretty much like a normal guy. There was nothing really spontaneous or threatening about Ji Yong's appearance, so why did her expression show fear?Ji Yong thought the look on her face was stupid. If she was a normal person, she would've heard him. She should've heard his voice or even his footsteps. If she was a normal person. He talked to her, but she only saw his lips moving. She didn't do anything. He sat down on the stool next to her. She didn't do anything. He placed his hands on the black and white piano keys. She didn't do anything. His hands started moving ans Ae Sook just watched. His skilled fingers glided across the piano. She watched in awe. She imagined pretty music flowing from his fingertips. She looked at him and saw intense focus on his face. For the third time that day Song Ae Sook thought, m style="font-family:'lucida sans unicode', 'lucida grande', sans-serif;">what does music sound like?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------a/n: ...I just wanted to get the first chapter up already. Why does this sound so serious? My writing style's weird. >_<
