-Chapter 16- Safe (1/1)

Hoya walked slowly back towards the room, he figured she had to prepare herself mentally.Not to mention Krystal was probably still there gloating to herself. "Why are you hiding the key from us?" He asked her."Aron said that I shouldn't let Krystal know. And since she's always around you guys, I have no choice but to hide it." She answered."Well now, I know, Sungyeol knows too. Who else?" He asked."Sunggyu and Dongwoo know too. Only Myungsoo, Woohyun, and Sungjong don't." She answered.The room was just around the corner and Sun Mi froze."Are they still arguing?" She asked softly.Hoya smiled and squeezed her hand, "If they were, then you would have heard it from the beginning of the hallway." He assured her.She swallowed and put on a brave face, "Don't say anything about me being afraid of the dark." She warned him."Never." He said.And then they walked in together, much to the surprise of Krystal and the others."And where were you?" Myungsoo glared at her and asked."Lost somewhere. I didn't know that the castle was so big." She answered defiantly."Next time don't waste our time by getting lost." He scoffed."Easy, Myungsoo." Hoya warned him."You're protecting her too, hyung?" Myungsoo rolled his eyes, "Well I, for one, won't fall for her lies." He said before leaving the room.He brushed Sun Mi's shoulder harshly, without turning back.Sun Mi flinched slightly but not enough for Krystal to notice. She was still on edge after being in that dark room for so long.But her small flinch didn't go unnoticed by Dongwoo. He could sense her anxiety even before she walked into the room."Well, now that you're safe again." Krystal said bitterly, "I'll be leaving." She stood up and walked towards the exit, turning around on her last step. "Will any of you join me?" She asked.None of the princes moved from their spots.Krystal frowned, "I see how it is." She glared at Sun Mi once more before leaving the room entirely.Immediately, a sigh of relief washed over her, she didn't need to keep up the facade that she was okay anymore. But she still wouldn't show the other princes that she was afraid of the dark, imagine what that would lead to.A hand touched her shoulder and she jumped involuntarily. "Relax." He assured her.She turned and saw Prince Dongwoo's smiling face. "It's just you." She said."Of course, and I know about your emotions right now." He whispered in her ear lowly. He didn't want the others to hear him, she knew he was trying to protect her privacy."I'm fine." She lied through her teeth."I can tell what you're feeling." He told her, "Don't lie to me." He wrapped his arm around her and faced his brothers, "Sun Mi had some trouble recently." He looked to Hoya who nodded, "So she can stay with me tonight." He announced."Very well." Sunggyu agreed, he didn't need to ask to know that Krystal had done something to Sun Mi and she was not okay."Thanks, hyung." Dongwoo said, leading Sun Mi out of the room."Is this really okay?" She asked him as they walked down the hallway together, "Can I really stay with you?"Dongwoo smiled again, "Of course. Sunggyu hyung already agreed. There is no problem with it at all. As long as you're okay with it." He said.They had reached his room and he waited for her to respond. "I don't have a problem with it." She said."Good. Because I know you've been feeling anxious since you returned from wherever you were." He told her, opening the door for her as well.They walked towards the bed together and Sun Mi immediately jumped on it before Dongwoo got a chance to stop her. "You should get ready for bed first." He said.She nodded before going to the bathroom, to her surprise there was already a toothbrush waiting for her. She walked out and raised an eyebrow at Dongwoo."We always keep spares in our bathrooms, just because we're too lazy to get a new one when we need it." He explained.Sun Mi nodded and went about her evening routine before climbing back into bed next to Dongwoo. He instantly wrapped his arms around her and she snuggled into his chest, he was so warm and comforting. She couldn't help but fall asleep. Author's Note:
