-Chapter 5- Detoured (1/1)
Sun Mi was granted a place to stay with Aron, since he didn't trust Minhyun and the others to care for her. She was given the chance to sleep and she took it quickly. Her head fell down on the pillow and she was out. "Are you sure we should bring her up there already?" Baekho asked Aron. "She will get eaten alive." Ren said sadly. "Yes, I am sure. The wannabe princess is getting a bit too comfortable in her post, we should shake things up a bit." Aron said in a stern voice, ending the conversation and any one after that. Sun Mi woke up to light nudging and found the blonde boy named Ren waking her up. "Come on, Sun Mi. Everyone else is ready." He told her. Sun Mi rubbed her eyes and got up quickly. She walked towards the door when a light green dress with a white blazer caught her eye. They were hanging on a full-length mirror with a note. "Please change into this before coming out. Don't forget, keep your key hidden. -Aron" After she made sure the door was locked, she took off the white dress she arrived and slipped on the clothes Aron gave her. Checking herself over once in the mirror, she slipped the key inside of the dress, between her breasts and stepped out. "You look so pretty." Ren said, clapping his hands. "Yeah, you'll sweep the princes off their feet." Baekho agreed. "Come on, we have to go to the castle." Aron said firmly. He took Sun Mi's hand and started to lead her down the path out of the forest. Just then, horses' hooves could be heard in the distance. "Get down!" Aron hissed at her and she hid in the bushes with Ren and Baekho. "Shoot." Aron cursed as they watched an aristocrat carriage passed by them. "What's wrong?" Sun Mi asked him. "We have to get you out of here. Ren and Baekho." Aron said firmly. The two boys grabbed her hands and led her away. They moved towards what seemed to be a nearby clearing with only a trail left to pass. But the sound of hooves again scared them. "Not here too." Baekho cursed as well. "Princess you have to go to that clearing. You don't have to do anything else. Just stay there and wait for us." Ren told her. "Okay." Sun Mi answered, before running across and ending up in the middle of the clearing, which had a pond in it as well. Her instinct of self-preservation was still kicked in and she found a tree that helped her to climb up it. She wasn't going to question how the tree was alive and helping her, Paradise seemed to be the place where anything could happen. Resting her accelerated heartbeat, she calmed her breathing as well. Why did she have to run earlier, she wondered. And who was that in the carriage?Ignoring the random thoughts, she decided to do what always calmed her. Singing. Picking a random song from memory, she started to sing. I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to flyI'll do what it takes til' I touch the skyAnd I'll make a wishTake a chanceMake a changeAnd breakaway Out of the darkness and into the sunBut I won't forget all the ones that I loveI'll take a riskTake a chanceMake a changeAnd breakaway What Sun Mi didn't realize was that her voice had attracted an audience. An audience she couldn't see. But she could feel, she knew that the tree beneath her was listening just as much as the trees around her, they swayed to her soothing voice as birds chirped and gathered around her. But not only was magic her audience. She had a genuine real person as well. He stood there in a simple black tank with a silver cross around his neck, a silver cuff on his left wrist. He was simply mesmerized by her. Her voice entranced him just as it had all the other animals. He needed to know who she was but before he could find her, he heard a rustle from the trees and he left. He wasn't supposed to be in the forest anyway. At least not for long, the tales that were told of the trees that danced and the animals that talked were scary for his people. And he was no different. Hurrying out of there, he made it back to where he belonged. Sun Mi also heard the rustling of the trees behind her as she stopped singing, to find a giant top hat and pink bunny ears beneath her. "Jump, princess." JR told her, holding out his arms. As Sun Mi prepared herself, a branch came and looped around her waist, lifting her down to the ground carefully. The tree couldn't talk but a white rabbit could. "No princess should have to jump in this forest." He said to JR before hopping away to the tree. "Understood." JR bowed once, before taking Sun Mi's hand and leading her away. Before she was out of sight, she turned to the tree and bowed slightly with a smile. She could see the tree smile back at her. Aron and the other two came back into sight, "We are sorry for that detour, but we couldn't let those people see you." He told her. "Why not?" She asked him curiously. "You'll see." He said forebodingly as they made their way back towards the castle. Author's Note:Update! Woot! <3I did it~! mostly because The Chaser has been egging me to get to their parts.
