Courage to love (1/1)
Jonghyun didn’t want to waste anymore of his time on her. He didn’t want to let her hope go high. “Sorry Sekyung. I can’t fall in love with you.” Jonghyun apologized. He knew he wasn’t interested in taking their relationship to another level and didn’t want Sekyung to waste her time on him. “I see. Thank you for being honest with me.” Even though Sekyung felt a little hurt but she knows that relationship can’t be rushed or force, she’s glad that Jonghyun was honest with her and not giving her any false hope. “Sorry.” Jonghyun apologized again. “Don’t have to. I really had fun talking with you. I hope that we can still be friends.” “Of course we can.” Both of them hugged, not as lover, as a friend. Jonghyun then left Sekyung to find Kibum. He found Kibum standing with a young lady at a corner of the ballroom, Jonghyun stopped in his own tracked. His mother walked to him to stop him from moving forward and disturbed them. “Look at how cute they are together.” His mother commented. Jonghyun looked at Key and Nicole’s direction, he felt a little jealous when Key smiled to Nicole during the conversation. “They sure are.” Jonghyun added bitterly and left the room to the garden outside the ballroom for a breather with a glass of wine in his hands. “Are you okay Jonghyun? You don’t look so well.” Jonghyun was a little drunk from the alcohol. Jonghyun didn’t look at Kibum when he talked. “You should be with Nicole, what are you doing here?” Kibum moved closer to him. “I was worried.” Kibum wanted to help Jonghyun to stand up straight but Jonghyun slapped his hands away. “You don’t have to, I’m okay. Go back to her side.” Jonghyun was plainly jealous of that girl, that’s why he was furious at Kibum. "Is this what you want?" He growled softly next to Jonghyun's ear as he shoved him to a wall. Jonghyun gulped as he looked down. He could feel the anger burning in him, Kibum wasn't at his usual calm tone at all. “Yes” he said shakily, not looking into Kibum’s eyes. He didn’t want Kibum to go back to her side at all, he wants Kibum alone all for himself but he didn’t say it out. “Alright, I’ll go back to her side.” Kibum then stormed off leaving Jonghyun alone. The end of the day, Kibum ended up carrying drunken Jonghyun back to his room. Luckily Jonghyun was knocked out so he wasn’t resisting Kibum’s help. Kibum then gently placed him on the bed and then sat on the bedside to look at Jonghyun. Kibum caress his cheeks softly. “Sorry… I shouldn’t have walked away.” Kibum wanted to stand up and leave but a voice held him back. “Kibum-ah, why can’t you love me?” Jonghyun was sobbing softly on the bed. It hurts a lot to see Jonghyun crying like these. He regretted leaving Jonghyun alone. Kibum pulled Jonghyun in his arms. “I do, Jonghyun. I really do love you.” His hand held onto Jonghyun’s cold hands. Jonghyun looked at Kibum with those teary eyes. “You liar, you don’t. If you do, prove it to me.” Kibum pressed their lips together which took Jonghyun by surprised. Jonghyun didn’t return the kiss at first but soon melted down and returned the kiss. Kibum cupped Jonghyun’s cheeks as he deepen the kiss. “I love you, Jonghyun.” He mouthed. It was all what Jonghyun needed to calm down. “You called for me, Mrs Jung?” Mrs Jung nodded as he took a sip of the tea. “Sit down and have some tea.” Kibum sat down. “It’s okay, I need to resume my duties. Is there any problem?” Mrs Jung cleared her throat before she looked into his eyes. “Kibum-ah, can you leave my son?” Kibum was taken aback by her question but stayed cool even after hearing it. “I know it’s selfish of me to ask you to do so but-” Kibum didn’t need any explanation as he understood clearly that it would be just another way to break his heart. “I understand Mrs Jung.” He said it so calmly that Mrs Jung felt guilty for saying it. “Sorry, Kibum.” The early morning was so quiet and peaceful maybe a little too peaceful. He pulled the blanket over his head as bright light shone in from the window. He waited for usual action of someone whenever he does that but no… The curtain stayed opened and the warm hand wasn’t there at all… He peeped under the blanket, only to see a different coloured hair standing in his place. He sat up from bed, rubbing his eyes and looked at the direction again, no, his eyes wasn’t playing a joke on him… He wasn’t there. “Good Morning, Jonghyun.” Jino bowed politely as he greets him. Jonghyun scratched his own messy hair. He cleared his own throat before voicing out. “Where’s Key?” Jonghyun tried to make his voice sounded as if he doesn’t really care who’s there with him but somehow he fails at it. “Ah, you mean Kibum hyung? Mrs Jung has given him a day off to spend time with Miss Jung.” Jonghyun forced a smile on his face, he doesn’t know why he doesn’t feel happy at all… He should be… After all he was the one who introduce Nicole to him and furthermore Key is his best friend. If he is able to find his true love, he should feel happy for him and not having to feel this bitterness that was spreading throughout his heart… “Don’t worry, Jonghyun. Kibum would be back tomorrow as your personal assistant, I'm just taking over his job for a day.” Jonghyun nodded but deep inside his heart, he hopes that it's only for a day. “Did you have fun with Nicole today?” Jonghyun asked casually as he remembered Kibum ditched him the whole day for another BBF he met in another country. “I did.” Kibum answered but didn’t elaborate on further. Although Kibum wasn’t by his side the whole day, Jonghyun didn’t feel angry at all because Jonghyun understand that it was his mom who arranged the date. It was already very late and the other bodyguards have left the room so Jonghyun decided to spend some time alone with Jonghyun. Jonghyun tried to hold Kibum’s hands but he flinched away immediately when their skin touches. Jonghyun was surprised at first but thought that Kibum might be shy. “If there’s nothing. I’ll take my leave.” Kibum left without a goodnight kiss. Jonghuyn started to think something was wrong. Jonghyun had enough of the cold war between them. He dismissed all bodyguards except for Kibum. Of course it was obvious to Kibum that Jonghyun wanted to talk. “I’ll take my-”Kibum wanted to excuse himself but Jonghyun stopped him. “What happened, Kibum? Why are you treating me so coldly?” Jonghyun asked with despair. He didn’t understand at all. Kibum was the one to confess that he love him. Why was he treating him so coldly now? Recently Kibum have been avoiding his touches and stares. Kibum took a step back, not looking into Jonghyun’s eyes. “I did not.” Jonghyun took another big step forward, cornering Kibum on the wall. “Yes you did. Why don’t you look into my eyes anymore?” Actually the reason why Kibum avoided look at Jonghyun because he was afraid he might fall even deeper for Jonghyun but the most important thing was… He didn’t want to see his hurtful expression. “I did not.” Kibum’s eyes met Jonghyun briefly before he turned his eyes away. Jonghyun’s eyes slowly filled with tears. He couldn’t bear this distance anymore. “Kibum. I’m really tired. I don’t like the way you treat me at all.” Jonghyun broke down into tears and buried his head in Kibum’s shoulder. “Jonghyun…” His finger hesitated to fondle his hair. “Kibum, I really love you.” Yunho thought Jonghyun and Kibum was going to like how him and Jaejoong did, accepting arrange marriage and let this forever be a regret in life but he was wrong. He walked into the empty room and made his way to the study table in the room. He picked up the paper that was on the table, a note that Jonghyun left behind. It was a letter of apologies from his dear son for running away with Kibum. Yunho only began to realize that Jonghyun and Kibum were much braver than they were in the past. At least they had the courage to love, which was something they didn’t have in the past.thank you!! It have ended!I think I'll cross post this in my livejournal.thank you for subscribing!!!
